I believe this company is ripping off my insurance company for every penny it can getMy first consult was the first week of JulyIt is now mid AugustI have been diagnosed with sever sleep apnea causing heart arrhythmias through the night as well as hypoxemiaJust plan on having to come back for a second sleep study because they never get the job done on the first sleep study, no matter how severe your symptomsMy insurance covered the study but if you have a copay or out of pocket expenses you need to plan on doubling the money you will owe(Around $1000) I had to wait days after the second sleep study, confirming I needed to be put on a bipap machine and how it corrected my problemsI could have told them it made a difference the morning after! Now they want me to wait another days for an appointment with American Sleep Products to receive my machine(businesses are right next door to each other! Surprise!) Gee, think they're in cahoots with each other? If your doctor recommends this place ask for another suggestion! It's just sad the lack of concern this Doctor has for his patients, not only the monetary stress he's causing, but the delay in recovery for his patientsPathetic!

Just plan on having to come back for a second sleep study because they never get the job done on the first sleep study, no matter how severe your symptoms. My insurance covered the study but if you have a copay or out of pocket expenses you need to plan on doubling the money you will owe. (Around $1000) I had to wait 7 days after the second sleep study, confirming I needed to be put on a bipap machine and how it corrected my problems. I could have told them it made a difference the morning after! Now they want me to wait another 13 days for an appointment with American Sleep Products to receive my machine. (businesses are right next door to each other! Surprise!) Gee, think they're in cahoots with each other? If your doctor recommends this place ask for another suggestion! It's just sad the lack of concern this Doctor has for his patients, not only the monetary stress he's causing, but the delay in recovery for his patients. Pathetic!

I talked to the[redacted], TN location to get a sleep study conducted. Before I made my appointment, I talked to them about how much it will cost me out of pocket after my insurance. American Sleep Medicine told me that the insurance will cover all of this so I set my appointment. I got my results from my test in a few days and that was the last I heard from then until 5 months later and get a bill in the mail. I called and talked to their billing department in [redacted], FL and they said they didn't have my insurance card information. I faxed and emailed the information. The billing department also stated that the insurance should cover it. I did not hear anything from them until over a year later from a debt collector. I called again and stated that my insurance was going to cover this. They said they never received my insurance card information. I sent the information again. Not only do they have the wrong insurance information on my bill, they also keep changing how much is owed. One paper says $900.00, another paper says $998.35, the billing department quoted $300 and $142.88. With all of these different amounts, how do I know that this is even a legit bill?Product_Or_Service: Sleep StudyDesired SettlementI should not owe anything for this sleep study. After 2 representatives from the Sleep Medicine told me that my insurance would cover the charges, I made the appointment. I would have never had this sleep study done if it was not covered by my insurance company. I received a statement in the mail in October 2013 and contacted American Sleep Medicine with a $900 balance. This was not sent to collections at this time. I sent them my insurance card via email and fax. (I also produced my insurance card to American Sleep Medicine when I went to have the sleep study (again false information given by American Sleep Medicine, if anything was not entered incorrectly, it was American Sleep Medicine)) I have already read your $15.3 Million settlement with health care fraud from 2013. It appears to me that they are still committing fraud against private insurance companies. Either American Sleep Medicine can pay for this balance or my insurance company can pay. I have had this insurance since May 2012, so there was no inactive policy. Again false information. How is anyone supposed to believe American Sleep Medicine and what is owed? Final Business Response Dear Ms.[redacted],Thank you for the opportunity to resolve Ms. [redacted]'s concerns.The insurance card presented to the center could not be verified for benefits due to incorrect policy information. A claim was submitted to the insurance carrier and they denied the claim a an inactive policy.The patient was billed as a self-payer which represents the $ 900.00 charge amount for not having active insurance in our system. the patient contacted us after being sent to collections, at that time Ms. [redacted] gave us the corrected insurance information. Once American Sleep Medicine resubmitted the claim, the insurance company precessed the claim which left a balance of $142.88 for Ms. [redacted]'s coinsurance, which the patient still currently owes. the coinsurance is set by her insurance carrier ([redacted]) and unfortunately cannot be waived due to contractual agreements. We deeply regret the circumstances that caused this situation to prolong.
