No stars. Not one specialist on the provided list ever even heard of this! DO NOT RECOMMEND. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Will be fighting for a refund at this point.

Do not sign up. You will regret this, once they have your credit card they will keep charging it. Poor customer service
They are thieves! Save your money, join a gym directly. They took my $75 for application fee and first two months. One week into the membership all the gyms were shut down due to the Coronavirus. They took another payment from my account, apparently I have to pay two months ahead. When I called I was told that they would not "pause" my account, but would put my money into a "credit account" and one the gyms reopen, then I would not have to pay until it was exhausted. I asked for a refund, they will only give me back $50 of the $100 I was charged. So, for three visits to the gym, I paid $50. Also, they told me it will take up to three weeks to return my money because they have such a backlog!

Continues to bill for gym memberships after mandated state closures. Refuses to suspend accounts during closure despite request from gym and customers. Refuses to refund fees taken for periods of time in which gyms were closed.

Although this is a great program I’m not impressed with communications with Active&Fit.
I signed up In March and used it half of March 2wks, maybe a couple of times 2-3. The pandemic hit, I decided it was best to call in March to request a refund, I was told that I would get a voucher and refund, but then I was told that actually I qualified for the full refund to included the enrollment 25$ last months 25$ and the 25$ for March total 75$. Come April I was charged 25$ prior to that I emailed 2-3 times in March no responses. Decided to call again. I was told an additional refund was requested and my membership would be canceled because it had not been canceled yet.
Now I see I was refunded 25$ for March and April 25$
I called and followed up on the remainder 50$, I was told since I used the membership twice in March I would not be refunded the full amount. They gave me a voucher for 25$ and kept the other 25$, if I decide not to use Active&Fit they keep 50$ and well I paid 50$ for just a couple of visits. I would like the 25$ back and the 25$ voucher because of my verbal conversation. I was under the impression I couldn’t use the membership based off what the first rep said, as it turns out she never canceled it and never made sure I was actually able to be refunded the full 75$.
I might as well went to the gym all of March and risk my health and possibly get the covid19...
Seriously. Policies need to change. They should only keep 25$ not my 50$

Total bull! The fitness center I was going to thru them stopped all membership dues during the CoronaVirus so I figured I was covered under that -- but no! Active and Fit continues to bill you because you have access to their stupid videos! I can watch YouTube exercise videos for free - why would I want to pay $25 a month? Customer service does nothing but tell you they can't refund the money once they've billed it. So in the end it's better to pay the gym directly another $15 a month when they're actually OPEN! Don't use these con artists!

It is important to stay persisent with Active and Fit Direct. I was able to get through and it took a few days and a couple of phone calls to get it squared away. I was appreciative of their customer service representatives for helping me and being able to resolve the issue.
The gym that I now belong to knows about Active and Fit Direct as they are on their list of gyms to join through this program through my healthcare provider.

Dear ***,
Thank you, sincerely, for taking the time to share your positive experience with ASH Fitness and the Active&Fit Direct offering. It is our goal to offer customers affordable access to fitness centers without long-term contracts. We appreciate your comments!

Customer Service department seems as though they want to help yet somehow they continue to say "well our billing department is really behind." Funny thing.... billing has no problem auto drafting my account and not paying the gym for my membership but yet I am at the 46 day mark and still can't get my money refunded.

My health insurance offered a discounted fitness membership as part of my benefits. I enrolled and agreed to pay the $25 per month as described on the insurance web site. However, do to a change of employment my insurance was terminated on Oct 31, 2019. I had never received any documentation from Active&Fit. I had only gone on my insurance web site and filled out a membership application at the local fitness center. I do not recall ever even hearing the name Active&Fit. When the insurance terminated I assumed that the fitness center benefit also ended. It was three months after the termination of coverage that I saw the charge on my credit card from Active&Fit. I called the number associated and explained that I had no idea they existed and that I only dealt with my insurance company and the local fitness center. They insisted that I would have had to go on their website or talk to one of the their reps to enroll. I have no such recollection. I can find no record of any such enrollment. I was told that they could cancel my enrollment, but neither provide a refund of any of the excess charges since the termination of my insurance. They also said they could not provide any written material showing my original enrollment or to verify termination. Beware, they set up an autopay with a credit card that does not require active billing to the member or by either the insurance provider or the fitness center. Its up to you to proactively terminate the relationship even though you never get a bill, a statement or even enrollment documentation.

The billing procedures for A&FD are pretty terrible. I sighed up for service on 12/11, and was billed for the registration, 1st and 2nd month for a total of $82.47. On 1/11, they billed me for another month for February. I called and was told that when you register on line, you create your own billing cycle starting the day you register. I understand that they want their payment BEFORE services are provided, and I asked them to change the billing cycle to the last day of the month or the first of the month. They said that can not be changed. It is not that it CAN NOT be changed, it is that they WILL NOT change the billing cycle so they bill me 51 days prior to the end of the service cycle rather than 31 days ahead. When you bill thousands of people early, you can earn much more on their money.

I was told to read the terms and conditions, 582 lines and 6700 words of legal crap. There is a reason why this business is NOT Revdex.com accredited.

No stars. Horrific transactions with provider services and contracting - failed to develop and fulfill contractual agreements and service to a business of over 80 providers. Redirected multiple times with no actual results. Made it virtually impossible to file and get paid for claims with a system that legitimately broke HIPAA compliance by allowing access to multiple outside locations and patients tied to the provider, regardless of practice location.

I was charged 81.20 on July 20 which included “ The Active&Fit Direct program is just $25/month with a $25 enrollment fee, plus applicable taxes. When you enroll, you'll pay the enrollment fee ($25), the current month's membership fee ($25), and the next month's membership fee ($25), so $75, plus applicable taxes gets you started.”
I then paid the monthly fee of 27.07 after tax August 20, September 20, and October 20. I had to cancel my membership on 10/24. Based on the description I believed I would get the month paid 10/20 (10/20 to 11/20) and then the 2nd month I paid up front (11/20 to 12/20). I was denied access on 12/1 and told my membership expired 11/30. Active and Fit has no description and no customer service explanation other than “that is how the membership works”. I should either get through 12/20 or refunded the first month equal to a prorate amount of $18.05 for the 20 days I paid in July but didn’t get.

This corporate entity should be investigated for fraud. They are the black hand of Cigna Health Insurance. They decide what doctors get paid, what patients need, and are constantly just looking for anyway possible to save $ at every corner, even if to the detriment of a real life person’s health. They are not the patient or the doctor, they should not have all the power. They need to be investigated.

I would strongly recommend never doing business with this company. They offer gym discounts but list gyms that don’t participate with their program. The only reason I signed up was because they listed a gym close to where I live. The gym manager said she had never heard of the program. Because it took me more than 5 days of going back and forth with the gym to find out they wouldn’t allow me to sign up through the program this company would not refund my money. They have fraudulent information on their website and then refuse to refund money.

The only reason they get a 1 Star is because there is not an option for zero. A bit confused how they can have an A rating with the Revdex.com with mostly one star reviews?

This company has tons of complaints about ripping off customers, but businesses and practitioners that they work with are getting ripped off as well! This company contracts with Fitness centers to offer its customers gym memberships with their insurance but then finds every reason to deny payments to the gyms. In other cases, such as Active and Fit Direct, they actually collect a $75 enrollment fee, plus monthly dues of $25- money that used to be paid to the gym directly, and then instead of paying that amount to the gym, they pay the gym $3 based on the number of visits, so if the person only comes a couple times, the gym only gets $6, but they keep the $25!! Members are only allowed to choose one gym and this company likes to reject the payments by stating the customer was registered at another gym- even when customer says otherwise. They have a number of ways that they short the gyms on payments and this company needs to be investigated.

HEALTH CLUBS! AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Had a chronic diagnoses (multiple diagnosis) referral though my doctor to get chiropractic work. Ash, my doctor and the chiropractic business stated that it would be free service (up to around 24 sessions). When it came to the bill, ash did not want to cover the charges due to the referral diagnoses not being chronic and the codes being incorrect. Speaking to kaiser and the chiropractic business they mentioned everything was fine with the referral and that they all indeed we're chronic. Many back and forth conversations between the three and also with each other caused me to give up when ash wouldn't respond to kaiser's last email on the issue and gave me an attitude due to wanting updates and information about my referral, stating that since I am the patient I am not allowed to (only kaiser) contact them regarding the issue at hand. Very upset that I can not get any outside health work done for my chronic muscle and bone/spine pain because kaiser only offers ash as the referral agency.

This is a great idea, the problem happens with the billing and connection to the gym. I had it for a while before I activated it (my fault on that one and willing to accept the charges obviously) and it was November 2018 when I finally activated it. I used it throughout the month, and when I went to the gym in December 2018, I was told it was canceled through Active and Fit. First of all, it's extremely annoying that they don't tell you it's being canceled but, also, they cancel the gym membership but continue to charge you. I don't write reviews very often but if I can save anyone from this pain, I definitely want to. Also, it took me a while to notice they were still charging me and when I finally called, they canceled it for me but said they would still charge me one more time since my billing date was in less than 30 days (10 days). I could understand that if I was at all using it, but it seems crazy since I haven't used it since November.

ASH should be shut down. Truly awful.
Shame on Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield for working with such a disreputable company.

Worst company ever! Total crooks. I've been in healthcare over 16 years and never been treated so poorly and paid so low. In fact, I'm lucky to get paid at all. I have filed multiple complaints with the commissioner on them. They make you fight tooth and nail for every penny and don't eve pay you half the time, falsely denying claims and processing through Cigna only to be denied and appealed multiple times until it's too late to receive payment. How on earth do they have an A rating on here??! The multiple law suits, Revdex.com and yelp reviews should be telling. They need to be shut down. They are what's wrong with our healthcare system.

This company is contracted by Kaiser Permanente to administer its acupuncture benefits. I have been going to a long-term acupuncture provider under multiple health insurance plans, and never once ran into problem until I switched to Kaiser/ASH. After numerous phone calls, hours of conversation, and thousands of words over 5 months, my issue is still not completely resolved. Coverage is found and lost depending on the agent you talk to.
I can't help but thinking that companies such as ASH is contracted by healthcare providers when they want to get out from a fake coverage promise.
