Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Company HAD stated they inspected the lower end, while installing new oil pump and oil sending unit Also on the time frame of repairs; the secondary warranty company repeatedly attempted to contact the vehicle repair shop w/o any return phone calls If requested I can obtain the timeline and information from Route to provideThe repair shop DID not do the work they stated they would do and Route has stated that the repair company did NOT receive a request for lower end work other than pump and sensing unit and have been very cooperative with the new mechanic shopAlso the heads have had to be re-done again, and the valves on the passenger side ground down due to a bad pressure test This is NOT something that happens in 3k miles after supposedly the heads were taken to a machine shop during the repair processI think American Tire & Auto needs to stand behind their work properly and take care of thisUnderstandably they were moving to a new location during this month repair but if they could not handle the work....they should have not taken it Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Company HAD stated they inspected the lower end, while installing new oil pump and oil sending unit.  Also on the time frame of repairs; the secondary warranty company repeatedly attempted to contact the vehicle repair shop w/o any return phone calls.  If requested I can obtain the timeline and information from Route 66 to provide. The repair shop DID not do the work they stated they would do and Route 66 has stated that the repair company did NOT receive a request for lower end work other than pump and sensing unit and have been very cooperative with the new mechanic shop. Also the heads have had to be re-done again, and the valves on the passenger side ground down due to a bad pressure test.  This is NOT something that happens in 3k miles after supposedly the heads were taken to a machine shop during the repair process. I think American Tire & Auto needs to stand behind their work properly and take care of this. Understandably they were moving to a new location during this 2 month repair but if they could not handle the work....they should have not taken it.
Sincerely,

I have talked with my crew and the customer was going through his insurance company because he had supplemental insurance on the vehicle. We had to wait for the Insurance company to send over the authorized repair and had to wait on them before we could start the work. We received a list of repairs...

from the Mechanical Insurance Company and we were  authorized to do the work from the list and they did not decline any other work to be done but it would be the customers responsibility. We recommended to the Insurance company to do bearings on the lower end and they refused the work to be done and that would be the customer responsibility. Both the Insurance company and the customer was informed that there was more recommendations to include the crank and bearings because there was scoring due to the water in the oil and other things could be damaged, neither the Insurance company or customer wanted to put anymore money into it and requested it to be delivered back to the customer. The worked was done per the List from the Insurance company and delivered on 11/17/2016. The insurance paid a total amount of $1439.02 for invoice [redacted] and invoice [redacted] had a total of $908.32 which 672.38 was also paid by the insurance and the customer still owes $235.94. This customer had walked in and out of our shop unassisted and showed complete competence of the issues with his vehicle.   Settlement:   $235.94 is the amount owed by the customer and if any other repairs need to be done the customer will be charged accordingly.
