What a comically awful experienceThe "manager" at the front desk seemed pleasant enough at first - we left the car with them for a few hours to do a diagnosticWhen we returned to get the results, they confirmed what we had already believed - the trans was slipping on 3rd gearOur previous mechanic who had recently been in an accident and thus unable to complete the work had told us this - and already purchased the trans to replace itWhen we told the manager we already had a trans, it was like a switch flipped in his brain and he became a completely different personHe was suddenly rude, hostile, and condescending - mocking the dealer we bought it from and our intelligence, completely without provocation
He then immediately left the room, wandered around the shop for a bit (?) without saying anything and then came back to ask some completely irrelevant/invasive questions, such as how much we paid for it, what other work we'd done, etc., again with an incredibly negative attitude that was entirely unwarrantedEvery answer we gave just seemed to irritate him more, until I flatly told him he was just trying to be difficult (there was no possible answer I could give that did not lead to him giving a snide or mocking comment, speaking down to me as if I had no experience working with cars - probably because I am female) Again, he wandered off into the office, onto the shop floor, etcwhile we're waiting to get the keys and leave
Finally he returns again, asking what we're going to doI tell him that we have no interest in doing business with them after his attitude, at which point he completely loses it and starts babbling nonsense - he was stuttering so bad that he couldn't even form a coherent sentenceAs I'm asking him for the keys (again, I already told him we have no interest in doing business) he's ignoring me, continuing to rant about his mechanics with years of experience and how I have no idea what I'm doingI ask for the keys again (because I don't care about his rant), and he throws a fit saying "Just get out! They're in the car!"
I thanked him and leftNever once did I raise my voice to him, nor insult him in any way other than to tell him his attitude was very poor/condescending and that we had no interest doing business with them specifically because of thatI think he may honestly have some sort of anger issue? Either way, he is an objectively awful person and I would absolutely not recommend any dealings with this company unless you are willing to bend to the manager's every whim, since otherwise he apparently cannot control himself
