On Feb7th Mr*** was given a down payment of half the cost to cut down wild hackberry trees on my property in Lewes, DE The check was cashed days later After weeks when the work hadn't been completed, I called Mr*** and asked him when the work would be done, he said it was too wet to get his truck into the backyard to do the work On April 21, he came to the house and looked at the trees again, at that time I filled out a contract and signed it, he said he would send me a copy in the mail and that he would be back next week after he did a job at nearby Beebe Med Center and do the job at my house He didn't return I called repeatedly over the next 2-months and he said he would do it next week Starting in Sept he stopped taking my calls and so I sent him a letter telling him I would be taking him to Justice of the Peace Court if he didn't do the work or give me back my deposit He failed to reply to my letter or call me and so on Oct5th I filed a civil action with the court to get back my deposit After talking with 2-workers at the Lewes DPW across the street who said you will have to take him to court, I now believe that Mr*** and his business American Tree Care is a scam and I would never hired him under any circumstancesEver!

Wouldn’t work with this company They will never show up after they get your deposit Scam / fraud alert !

Terrible stay away from this guy

Phil and his crew were excellent! They removed exactly what I had asked and cleaned up after themselves very wellI will be calling them back about trimming back some trees

American Tree Care was hired to cut down trees, stump removal, haul away debris, cut the wood into small pieces for fireplace, and deliver top soil to replace the holes left from the tree stumps and the rutes left in my yard from the machinery usedHis workers did an excellent job cutting down one tree into small pieces as requested, then the owner cut the rest of the trees down cutting them into to ft sections and piling them up in my yardHis workers also removed the debris and took out the stumps but it took about phone calls or more asking them to come and cut the pile into smaller pieces, plus cut the stumps out I got the reply many times that it was too wet for the company's large truck to drive on my property but the owner said he and his workers would be back to complete the job in a day or soUnfortunately payment was made in full for all services which I signed back in March 2014, payment in full is what the owner requires and as of today (June 24th, 2014) services still have not been completedI have made numerous attempts to contact the owner on his personal cell phone, I have left message with his messaging serviceInitially some calls were returned with the promise of completing the remaining work as soon as it drys upOver the past several months none of my calls have been answered or my messages returnedBased on completeness of the work and the fact that all money was paid up front I have to give the American Tree Care a negative review and would not recommend their service to anyone Its bad when a person who grew up in Lewes, is well know in the community has to have a bad review written about him

*** ***, owner of American Tree Care, was very prompt in returning initial callsHe was hired to cut down three (3) Colorado Blue Spruce, top and trim ten (10) Leyland Cyprus and haul away debrisHis workers did an excellent job cutting down Colorado Blue Spruce, removing debris and trimming Leyland CyprusAt the time the Leyland Cyprus were not topped due to wetness of ground--?too wet for company's large truck to drive on but *** *** said he and his workers would be back to complete the job in a week or soUnfortunately payment was made in full for all services at the time of the initial work As of today services still have not been completed (many many months later)
I have made numerous attempts to contact *** *** -- left message with his messaging service, called his personal cell phone and sent text messagesInitially some calls were returned with the promise of completing the remaining workOver the past several months none of my calls have been answered or my messages returned
Based on completeness of the work and the fact that all money was paid up front I unfortunately have to give the American Tree Care a negative review and would not recommend
