It is impressive that the two owners are both arborists and they both take full charge in person to do the work. They are very careful about worker safety and they take care to minimize their impact on the yard where they are working. Great work from great people.

We recently had two very tall trees removed from our yard. One was in the front yard and the second was in the back yard. We had both trees cut down and then the stumps removed. The American Tree Service was able to use their articulated boom manlift to access the front yard tree, but had to climb the back tree in able to cut it down due to limited access getting to the back yard for their articulated boom manlift. They cut down both trees and sent the branches through their chipper and hauled off the cut-up trucks. They then used their stump removal unit to remove both tree’s stumps. They then cleaned up the front and back yards, and only left us with a few tree roots to put in our trash can.
We were very pleased with our personal interactions with the American Tree Service personnel. We were very pleased with the neat and efficient job they did, and were pleasantly surprised at the speed of the tree and stump removal service they gave us. We also are aware of the nice tree trimming job they did on our daughter and son-in-law’s sycamore trees. We would certainly recommend them for either tree trimming or tree removal services.

The distinctive difference: American Tree Service is a husband and wife team who are both certified arborists. Unlike other tree services, they don't just send a crew (who might or might not have knowledge about healthy tree practices) to do the work. Greg (arborist, owner) is always doing the hands-on work in the tree.
They have amazing equipment that can squeeze into the tightest places, too.
And once the job is done, you'll see them raking, blowing and scooping until the area is picky-perfect cleaned up.
Plan ahead, if you can. They are often booked up months in advance, but they are worth waiting for. (And they will try to work you in for an emergency.) We've used them several times over the years, and are always delighted with the results.
When friends tell us "trees need...," we always tell them "American Tree Service."

American Tree Service did an excellent job trimming our 30' maple tree to the appropriate shape and style. We were very pleased with the time and effort taken to do a fantastic job. American Tree Service has just left my house with another job well done! ISA Certified Arborists, both [redacted] and [redacted] know what they are doing when it comes to safe and proper practices in trimming trees and tree removal. They are knowledgeable in their work and are honest, reliable and fair in their work practices. One or both of them are on site, not leaving the work to be done by "crew" that don't know what they are doing. The small staff that is on site with them are respectful, polite and pleasant. They do what they say they are going to do, do it efficiently and leave the job site tidy and cleaned up. Plan ahead, because they do book up. If you have to wait for them to do the work, they are well worth the wait. For all my tree needs I will continue to use American Tree Service. They go above and beyond my expectations.
