Review: I contracted tree removal services from [redacted] at American Tree SD. The trees were cut down - but not fully removed and the stumps were not ground, as per contract. At the end of the day, he requested from my wife ( I was not home) partial payment (all but $500) to pay his workers and promised to come back the next day to complete the job. He did not return, leaving a big mess in my yard. When contacted (I called him, he did not call me), he claimed that he had underbid the job and was losing money. He also said that he refused to lose money and would only complete the job if I gave him significantly more than the agreed upon amount. I left him a message the next day to tell him how disappointed I was that he failed to come back as promised, failed to keep his word, and left me with a big mess. I said that I would even be agreeable to pay additional just to get this problem fixed. But we needed to discuss the amount. He called me back the next day and screamed at me for several minutes. Every time I tried to get a word in, he just screamed over me with very profane language. I had no choice but to hang up. Of course, I have not heard back from him and am left with a big problem.

Funny, isn't it, that the professional with 30 years experience improperly bid his job and it is my fault and I get to be screamed at.Desired Settlement: I would like the job completed for the original contract. I am no longer interested in offering to pay additional. That is now off the table. Also, I would refuse to allow [redacted] to return to my property, since he has verbally threatened and abused me. He can send a supervisor or someone else to be in charge.

Mr.[redacted], When I came to your home the bid was alot more and you couldn't afford it and talked me down,I shouldn't of ever tried to make you happy,we had 13 men on your job and working in 100 degrees and hiking all your branches accross your grass up hill....Sorry i'm not gonna kill my guys expecially for someone so un-thankful.You actually owe me,I gave your wife back 500 dollars,she wanted to pay me it all,I told her no because I wasn't coming back,the amount you paid was way fair for the all the work that was done.I'm sorry if your finacially in a bind but I don't work for free.I went over the price difference with you to continue and you choose not to.So that;s why we didn't come back..you wanted it done for free.And as for the yelling,it was both ways,be a man and admit it.

I spoke to the owner [redacted] and he promised to complete the job. He has not returned, as of yet. Therefore, I would like to keep this complaint open until I see if he really comes back to complete the work.
