HighTechLending is a customer service based lender and we take our borrowers concerns serious. I reached out to Miss *** to go over her concerns and she stated she wanted a copy of her appraisal and all of this didn't matter anymore and hung up on me. After carefully reviewing Miss. file and concerns it appears there was a misunderstanding. During the process of her loan and documentation received it appears we were unable to proceed with her loan due to Insufficient Funds to payoff her existing liens recorded on title. There was a 2nd mortgage that was not disclosed to us during the application process. She stated the mortgage was not hers however; she was not able to provide us proof of such. Our title company also did extensive research and they stated the 2nd mortgage belongs to Miss ***. The decision of denial had no merit to her ethnicity. The value of Miss ***'s property per the appraisal was not sufficient enough to payoff her existing liens. HighTechLending has no affiliation with the appraiser nor do we direct the appraiser or AMC on how to appraise a home. That is against the law. HighTechLending also helped Miss *** with the cost of the appraisal and did not require her to pay the total amount due. We explained to her why we were unable to assist her in a Reverse Mortgage and adverse her loan on January 24, 2019 and we also sent her a copy of her appraisal on January 25, 2019 for her records. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Miss ***.
