Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/10/26) */ AmeriCare in a non-medical home care company and PART of the services we provide do include light housekeepingThis is normally done along with other duties, such as meal planning and preparation, transportation, running errands, grocery shopping, etcAll of the things that [redacted] needed we provide but are normally done along with some personal care and/or assistance with Activities of Daily Living When I first talked to ***, she told me that she would need her laundry done, bed linens changed, dusting and mopping and/or vacuuming, transportation to and from the hospital for her chemo treatments, possibly some meal prep and grocery shopping Thankfully [redacted] is doing so well on the chemo that she is able to drive herself and doesn't need any help with Activities of Daily Living, which just left the housework We were scheduled to go to ***'s once a week for hoursAs she mentioned, in a very short amount of time, we went through people, which is very high turnoverThe reason for the high turnover is because my caregivers are not maids and all of them felt that this was more maid service than caregiving When the third one quit, I called [redacted] and told her that I felt we were not doing a good job for her because of all the turnover and that it seemed what she needed was a housekeeping service more than in-home care I referred her to my housekeeping service and suggested she call them as they are trustworthy and very good I apologized to [redacted] and felt (still do) really bad that we were not able to help her I do not disagree with [redacted] saying that we need more clarification on what "light housekeeping" means and in fact need to correct the classification with Revdex.com as I have since discovered we show up under "housekeeping" and we shouldn'tThis is, in fact, how she found us In an effort to try to make amends (even before I received this complaint) I sent her a letter and told her we would not charge for the two weeks in October that she was servicedI felt this was a small way of apologizing for the confusion In no way did I try to mislead ***, the reality is that when we first agreed to work together, we both felt that she was going to need some personal care because of the chemo treatmentsBut she's doing great and doesn't need that type of help I take my A+ classification with the Revdex.com very seriously and hope this explaination is enough to clear up any misunderstandingsI will also follow up to remove the business under "housekeeping" and move it to a more appropriate location to prevent this from happening again If more information is needed please let me know Thanks [redacted] Owner/Operator-AmeriCare
