January 13, Dear MrGoodeWhen the contract in question was purchased in 2001, the rate for the annual contract was $483,Over the years the contracts have gone up in priceAmericare tries to keep the costas low as possible and not increasing the cost to current
members, although not guaranteed or written in the contract, has been one of those benefitsHowever, if there is a contractual change/usage of a contract, we do raise the annual cost of the new contract to the current cost which in this case, as of November 28, 2014, was $3300.If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at ###-###-####Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
I was not looking for a companion or respite care.  I specifically said that I wanted someone in to get my husband up, showered, dressed, fed, etc.  In other words tend to his needs.  While that was being done I could do any errands that were necessary such as food shopping, the cleaners, the bank, so that when the aide left, I would not have to leave him alone.  He had just come out of  a week in trauma ICU and two weeks in rehab.  He could do very little for himself.  I could also not guarantee him that a Medicare nurse or physical therpist would not come during the time the aide was there.  
I am attaching a letter I just sent to Americare.

I am rejecting this response because: This company is a rip off to seniors. They believe they are getting 1000 hours of service. When they actually need the service they raise the cost to what ever they want with no proof about increases and we are just to believe them. Regards,

While I feel that the product was grossly misrepresented by the salesman, I do not feel that further pursuit of total restitution would be worth

To Whom It May Concern:
Americare sells home service contracts that provide specific services to individuals in their home. The services we provide and don't provide are listed clearly in the contract on page 3. A complete copy of the contract is left with the client the...

day of purchase.Clients have an obligation to review what they are purchasing. They are given a 10 day cancellation period to read and fully understand the contract and to ask additional questions they may have about the contract. If the contract is not what they wanted they may cancel and receive a full refund during this time. The 10 day cancellation period has passed and no refund is due or payable at this time.
Americare called the [redacted]’s on 11/20/15 to welcome them to Americare and answer any questions they may have.
When the [redacted]'s called for care, they were looking for respite services only so [redacted]. [redacted] could get out. The contract clearly states that the contract does not provide companion or respite services. Americare was willing to provide the services under the contract to the [redacted]'s and set up care but [redacted]. [redacted] cancelled those services after one day because they were not what she wanted.

Americare Home Care Services Inc., offer one year home service contracts that provide specific services to our clients. The PA American Legion endorses our contracts and provides us with the names of their members.

Home Care Service Inc. on September 23, 2015. These contracts are for one year only and are completely refundable within the 15 day cancellation period, so that they have enough time to read and fully understand what they purchased. We also call the member when we receive the contract application to give them the opportunity to ask questions.The contracts can be cancelled at anytime a client chooses by sending in notice that they wish to cancel, and no further payments will be due, however, no refund is made after the cancellation period
Members are approached by licensed Insurance Agents of Americare who explain the service contracts and their benefits.

Review: Raised contract 684% yes that is correct 684% Paid $483.00 Annually for years. Now it is $3300.00. My mother had to use the services. Contract states: As with all Americare Home Care Service Contracts, any renewal or new contract is without regard to any medical need or condition.

I have called twice and spoke to Melissa and her explanation is contractual change. The only change, is use.Desired Settlement: I understand things raise in price 684% is unacceptable. Reasonable Increase.
