Regards,
[redacted] We understand that their is just a two year workmanship warranty but all we wanted was ABC to work with us in finding out what kind of shingles they used and the next steps to take. We weren't asking ABC to replace the shingles. We repeatedly contacted ABC and they either didn't return calls or made promises to visit the house and inspect. In fact we waited around one entire week waiting for them to show up at the house after they promised to inspect. The shingles weren't installed wrong,  it was just bad quality shingles and I guess we expected the contractor to be easier to work with after the job was done. We will never recommend ABC again to do work in our area.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]We were not told it was a contract. We have witnesses to the fact.As far as putting him off it was due to his pushy sales tactics. He was aware of the fact we were waiting on the insurance agent to get back to us about the siding. After much pressure in our phone conversation as he asked I sent him a text message about purchasing the shingles, this is when I looked them up with the Revdex.com and asked from help from the Revdex.com about these high pressure sales tactics and supposed contract. I did not hire them to do the work.
Regards,
Rob S[redacted]

Americas Best Contractors replaced this roof in 2007 with a 2 year workmanship warranty. Obviously nothing was wrong with the installation. His issue is with the manufacturer not Americas Best Contractors.

We do not keep records that long. The two brands of shingles we used in 2007 were Tamko or CertainTeed. If you can take a picture and send it to us we will be able to tell you which brand it is.

Review: In July of 2007 America's Best Contractor installed new shingles on my home after a hailstorm. I was told the shingles had a warranty of 40 years. This summer I had leaking on my roof and upon inspection found the shingles were cracking and allowing water into my home.Desired Settlement: I want the shingles replaced as there was a 40 year warranty.

Revdex.com,

We have been in contact with America's Best Contractors and they refuse to even give us information on the shingles installed. They have promised to inspect the shingles repeatedly and don't show up or return calls. We would just like information.

Regards,

This company is a storm chasing company, who once you've signed to have them do the work, they ignore your calls. You have to continually call and call and call to get the work done. When you get the workers to arrive, you NEED to be home to supervise or they just move slower than frozen honey, the garbage they threw around was ridiculous--ALL over the neighborhood, which we had to clean up every night when they left. Got our storm damages completed in 2014, we are still missing fascia on one end of the house which blew off in the first wind because it was not installed properly. They have been called numerous times, all coming back with the same excuse--you're info is right here on my desk we'll get right to it, or i'm out of town but as soon as I get in I'll get right on it, or in the case of their recent answering maching message, DO NOT leave a message unless it's an emergency. What kind of business does that? maybe a company only wanting to scam? They finally delivered the fascia--commented; oh I forgot the extension ladder, be right back. What contractor shows up without the proper ladders? knowing they're installing fasia?--still not back and that was over 3 weeks ago.

I initially had to notify my insurance company when they attempted to fraud them by claiming they 'forgot' something on their initial quote--which was a total lie, the person we where dealing with was not happy that I would NOT allow him to see what the insurance adjustor came up with. Insurance company said NO contractor that knows what they're doing needs to see the insurance report; they look at the report just to jack up the price and steal your depreciation value. He still tried adding damages that weren't there, or fixing what wasn't initially agreed upon because it didn't need fixing.

He claimed he'd pay a 'finder's fee' for everyone we recommended and they received a job on--we haven't seen anything from the 4 houses they did in our neighborhood who called them because of OUR recommendation. Those neighbors all ended up with the same problems we had. Now they seem to have totally disappeared. I'm sure they'll show up at the next storm in our area. DO NOT trust this company, if you hire them you have to constantly--on a daily basis--keep calling them until the job is done, and they will have to come back numerous times to fix what they didn't complete, or what they did wrong.

Review: Chuck showed up (cold call) To give us an estimate. He asked for our insurance paperwork estimate so he could give us a good solid number. He then went over his estimate with us. Chuck then told us to select our shingles and siding. Chuck told us to sign the paperwork and that it was not a contract, it was just stating that these were the colors and brand we wanted. So when we were ready there wasn't any confusion as to the colors we selected.Desired Settlement: Cancel the so called contract by Americas Best Contractor. Any and all claims of money owed for any reason be null and void.

Response:

Mr and Mrs S[redacted] signed our company contract in the summer of 2014 and selected a color for their shingles. It's my 25th year in this business and I've never told a homeowner to sign my estimate without letting them know that this is authorization to schedule your work I've even gone to the point to stop a homeowner from signing unless they want to me to schedule their work. For that period of about a year 'we tried repeatedly to contact Mr S[redacted] to get his roof installed with very little response. Finally we were told around June of 2015 that his wife would like his roof installed in late summer, so his material was ordered. I contacted Rob in August of 2015 to schedule his roof work again without a response. If he didn't think it was a contract then why did he tell us to install his roof in late summer. We then decided to send an invoice for material restocking charge with an option to install his roof within the next two weeks and waive this fee. When he received this invoice he finally called me to blast me about our company and my character. We discussed and agreed to do his roof in the Spring of 2016. Shortly after this conversation I received a text telling me to send him an invoice for the total cost of his material and he will pay for it and pick it. We are in total agreement with him paying for his material and have sent him his invoice. We will release his material when we receive his check. I have all text conversations supporting our attempts and his responses concerning the scheduling of the roof he hired us to do.
