DAYS INNS RENO RENOARRIVAL DEPARTURE NIGHTS09/27/13 09/28/13UNITED STATES DOLLAR 125.37 @ 1.05958I was travelling with 2 friends to attend the street vibrations motorcycle rally in Reno, we arrived the evening of Sept 27th 2013. The room was in poor condition, but since we had planned only to sleep there not spend time at the hotel we figured it would suffice. Starting at approximately 7-8 pm several african american guests had apparently also invited many other peoples to attend a party they had planned on staging at the hotel. My friends and I returned from the rally at roughly 1030 pm to find a party in full swing, racing engines and smoking drugs and loud racial hip hop music. During the course of the night of which myself and one of my friends were not permitted to sleep I tried to reach the front desk personal to no avail. At 7 am when the party died down and we felt it was safe to leave our room, we emerged to find other sleep deprived caucasion guest in much the same condition as us, all demanding refunds. Some of them had been able to reach the front desk and were told the police would not attend unless there was violence! I find that excuse weak and the lack of action on behalf of the hotel deplorable. The seal around the hotel room door was so poor that exhaust and other illegal drugs smoke filled our room. I requested a refund from the manager before I left the premises, I was handed a card and told to contact the 1 800 number on the card as there was nothing he could do. When I called 1 800 number on the card I was told I would have to take it up with the hotel, even though the hotel had refused already. I have tried to do a chargeback through my american express card to no avail. I am now seeking refund through this complaint process.Product_Or_Service: Overnight stayDesired SettlementA full refund of 127.37 USD and apology from days InnBusiness Response We are very sorry for the guests experience, but the behavior of other patrons is not fully within our control. We have received the dispute case from the credit card company. Because the room was occupied for the night, we cannot issue a refund for the reservation. However, since the multiple night booking was only used for 1 night, we did not charge guest for the other nights, although they were guaranteed nights. The dispute is being processed by the credit card company, and thus we will adhere to their decision. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience the other guests caused, but during a large special event like Street Vibrations, we can only control so much.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)same thing the did at the moment of issue, absolutley nothing, they did nothing to protect the guests, they did nothing to accomodate guests concerns after bottom line they have done nothing. They deserve to have their rating dropped and this complaint made public to serve as a warning to other travellersFinal Business Response I'm sorry, but there is nothing further we can do to assist the customer in this case.

This was the WORST place I've stayed in Reno. It was the last resort due to it being a holiday weekend but I couldn't be more dissapointed. Starting with.. Our shower having no hot water for us to even shower. After calling the front desk.. The woman was no help whatsoever. She sent maintenance who never showed. So we called again and apparently annoyed her. Maintenance came with a screwdriver.. Couldn't fix the problem.. Mumbled something about a broiler and disappeared. We waited for his return for awhile before calling the front desk again. The woman had no solutions, explanation or anything. We asked for a different room.. She said there weren't any clean. We left for the day assuming the problem was being worked on. We came back and were debating leaving when they said it was fixed. NOT to mention dirty towels (hairs) in our room and the sound on the tv not working. It was a nightmare. We lost out on our first day of vacation due to the issue. When requesting a refund the front desk woman kept saying to talk to [redacted] (manager) on Monday. So we called today and he offers a 20 dollar credit. He claims we picked a bad time to shower.. But we tried for hours.. Into the afternoon. And said it is nothing to do with the broiler, like we suggested it did.. It was the maintenance person who told us that. It's just unfortunate that [redacted] can't man up for his business' faults and refund our money for that night since it put a huge damper on our vacation.Then when I got back home and called for the 20 dollars credit they did not send it the first day but took 56.06 out of my card. I called and then checked today and the 20 dollars was corrected and the 56.06 put back but yet they took out another 69.99. I dont know what is going on with this hotel but they are constantly taking money from my card and I have to keep calling them to reverse it.Product_Or_Service: Hotel stayDesired SettlementI want all of my money back because this is too much. I have tried to be nice but I am done I want all of my money back and my card erased from there system IMMEDIATELY!!!!! Business Response Refund of $20 given and accepted by guest. No further refund will be issued. The additional amounts the guest is referreing to are preauthorizations made to the credit card for the reservation. Those are automatically released by the bank as we have not charged against the authorizations.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No I do not because the total for the two days I stayed there was $132.19, then after that charge was taken off they charged my card an additional $69.93. I still have the receipt for the 132 so there should not be an additional 69 dollars taken off.Final Business Response Please contact your bank regarding any additional authorizations that have not cleared. Only your bank has the ability to clear preauthorizations.

We found a used condom under the couch in the room the paid for at the days inn in Reno Nevada We called the front desk to have someone come clean it up and the manager who said his name was Sam said what do you want me to do ?I'll send someone to clean it up Then said what else do you want complimentary nuts?That was rude and unnecessary We just wanted it clean and to make sure the rooms were cleaned always like it's supposed to be !!Product_Or_Service: Hotel room at the days inn in Reno Nevada Desired SettlementI would like to know that house keeping actually perform all the health cleaning and that the rooms aren't rented out like that anymore Business Response WE sent up our houseman to take care of issue. Guest mistakenly thought I had offered him some peanuts over the phone?!? Guest came down to the front desk. Guest agreed to an upgrade to a deluxe nonsmoking king.

This Saturday I booked a hotel through [redacted], the Days Inn Reno, NV. Upon arriving, I found it to be very run down, and called [redacted] to cancel. While speaking with the [redacted] representative, I was informed that in order to cancel the booking and receive a full refund, they would have to get it authorized by the hotel. The woman at the counter at the Days Inn, [redacted], refused to authorize the cancellation with [redacted]'s representative, saying the only person who could authorize this transaction would not be in until Monday. I later spoke with Maria, Who told me that she could not authorize the cancellation. I asked If I didn't check into the room, would I be refunded; I was told no. I questioned her on this policy while she continued to patronize me. I left but eventually came back, fearing that I would waste my money if I was unsure of cancellation or refund, and booked the room. When I got to the room the heater was not working, I called the front desk who sent a maintenance man. The maintenance man came with tools but but did not use any, and played with the knobs on the machine until it cut on for a short while, without emmiting any heat. I told him it was not fixed, he said he would be back in five minutes; he didn't come back. I took a shower, and before I got out, I had had noticed the floor in the shower/toilet room; It was speckled with mouse droppings. I again called the front desk to tell them of this, they told me they didn't have a mice problem, so I demanded that they place me in another room. [redacted] sent the house cleaner, who confirmed with me that it had been mouse droppings. I went to the front desk to exchange the room key, and request that Everything be notated, and that I would like a copy. [redacted] told me that "everything is definitely notated" and it is against policy to give me a copy of the notes; I requested to see a copy of the "policy book" with no avail. I also asked for her full name and representative number which she refused.Product_Or_Service: 24hrs Days InnAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI was told by [redacted] later that the hotel didn't have Mice, he also expected me to believe that what I and the housekeeper thought to be mice droppings were "pieces of crayon" instead.I would like a full refund.I would like for [redacted] to be disciplined due to her attitude towards customers.I would like [redacted] to be discipline for insulting the intelligence of customers.Business Response At the time of arrival, the reservation was non-cancellable as specified at the time of booking with [redacted]. The claims to mice droppings are unsubstantiated and false. We tried our best to be accommodating to the customer but unfortunately, they took our response to be "insulting" and rude. A refund cannot be issued for a room that was used and occupied over the full length of their stay.Consumer Response I am dissatisfied with the resolution reached at this hotel. I do not plan on ever again staying at a Days Inn Motel after this experience, so the 15 dollar coupon is useless to me. I would like an apology from the employees and at the very least a partial refund.Final Business Response Case has been closed on our end. We can offer no further compensation.
