Review: I contracted with this agent ([redacted]) to sell my cooperative apartment in November. The contract expires in May. This broker has not met her fiduciary obligations insofar as aggressively trying to sell my property. She had to be FORCED by me to hold open houses (2 to date), she does not regularly check in with me regarding the status (I now live in Tucson, AZ), she does not return phone calls and she is NEVER in the office or available to speak with. She misrepresented the market by posting my home for an inflated price. I have since dropped the price by $10,000. She always has an excuse for her indifference ... the holidays, the weather .... I continue to pay almost $800 per month in maintenance on an empty apartment. I cannot afford to list with this broker any longer. She would NOT grant me an unconditional release but WOULD release me from my contract if I gave her $2900 (which, she advises, is 2% of the current asking price of $149,000). She did NOTHING to earn this money and I feel this is illegal. So, she has NOT fulfilled her fiduciary obligations of the contract and is now charging me to get out of it. Very incompetent and very shady dealing.Desired Settlement: I want an unconditional release from my contract WITHOUT having to pay Ms. Hickey $2900. I also am reporting her practices to the Board of Realtors.
