This is my wife and I second and final move. We've spent the last year finding our dream home. We've finally found our dream home in Fort Lauderdale. Our first move was a nightmare. This time we did extensive research about the professional moving company we were going to select. We had our real estate agent, family, and friends refer multiple companies. We read multiple review on Google, Facebook, Yelp, Angie's list, and multiple moving company review websites. After about a month of extensive research we decided to select 5 companies that were overall the best for what we needed done. We had 5 companies come out to our home and meet us in person and do a walk through and explain the exact service we were looking for. My wife and I did not want to lift a finger and wanted a full packing service move. From packing our entire home to unpacking our entire home. After meeting and having the home estimates with the 5 companies we knew that once we meet with America's movers they were the company we were going to go with. Luckily, Cary the sales manager was handling our move. From the initial conversation to the final goodbye she was a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. She was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. She went above and beyond to explain the services and the contract we agreed upon. America's movers preformed a full packing service that included packing our entire home which was our entire kitchen, statues, a piano, crating 2 chandeliers, a pool table, my mother's grandfather clock, a china cabinet that's been in our family for over 60 years and our closets! As anybody who's moved before you know how stressful it is. Once the movers arrived on the first day of packing the Foreman Lael put my wife and I nerves at ease. The 6 movers all were professional, polite, well mannered, and uniformed as promised. They truly cared for our items. For the next 3 days America's movers preformed a service that went above my expectations. I truly can't express enough in this review how pleased I am and how professional this company was. I'm going to recommend to all my family friends and professionals I know.

We apologize for the issues that occurred during your move and that you didn't have a better experience with our crew. The details that you outlined in your Revdex.com compliant do not reflect our company expectations and standards. But I would like to do after reviewing your file is correct a couple of the statements you stated about our company and your move.
On 10/28/2019 America's Movers left a voicemail for *** in regards the inquiry he put on our company website. We did not speak with *** until 11/11/2019. On 11/11/2019 *** and moving coordinator *** went over an inventory of his home in Gulf Breeze, FL. via phone call. During this phone call *** had *** give a room by room inventory of the furniture and items he needed moved. After the phone estimate was complete *** emailed *** an estimate for his move. On 11/12/19 *** contact *** to schedule and reserve his move with America's Movers. *** then gave *** a $50.00 deposit on his Visa card to reserve the move. He also signed the estimate electronically on 11/12/19 at 9:43 am. As you will see in the attachments, we have provided a copy of his electronic signature.
On Friday 12/06/2019 the driver arrived at ***'s home in Gulf Breeze, FL. to move ***. The driver has a copy of the original estimate *** electronically signed on 11/12/19. As the driver did his walk thru of ***'s home, he explained to *** that he had additional items. He explained to *** that he had to call the additional items into the dispatch office to adjust the estimate accordingly. ***'s original estimate he was quoted for 19 items, 45 pieces. The cubic feet of these items came to 533 cubic feet. After the driver had called in the additional items, ***'s new estimate was 68 items, 198 pieces. The new cubic feet were 1,360 cubic feet. The additional items were more then double the original estimate. The driver gave *** the additional cost of $1,000.00. He explained to *** he had the option to pay the additional cost for the additional items or that they could take what was on the original estimate. *** agreed to the additional cost and signed a "additional items form" agreeing to the new cost. We have provided a copy of the forms *** signed at the pickup.
We never once performed a bait and switch as stated. We gave the option to pay for the additional work and time that needed to be done to move the additional items. If these items were listed on the original estimate, we would have quoted correctly.
*** has also posted reviews from different accounts on Google with a negative review. We ask *** removes the review. We don't feel that a full refund of $3,200.00 is reasonable. We performed a service for you. We feel that $150.00 is more then fair to resolve this issue. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we have worked to rectify this situation. We hope that you accept this offer to resolve this issue and you will be satisfied with the steps that we have taken to address your concerns, as we have done our best to be as thorough as possible.

The move as explained to *** was 2 storage sheds, I explained to her that I had already moved everything out of a 1750 sq ft house into storage units so it would be impossible for me to name everything, she said she understood and we went from there. So the explaination of 533 cu ft and 3200 hundred lbs given to me as an estimate doesnt stick expecially since I got another estimate from racheal at the same company shortly after I was ripped off and her estimate was the exact same as carys estimate but this time with 850 sq ft and 5960 lbs and I can post pictures to prove it, this company gives estimates then raises the price once your stuff is on thier truck. When the two drivers pulled up and showed me what cary had written and just looking at the storage units, we all knew it was incorrect but instead of giving me a price right there, they insisted on loading up my stuff. Once everything was loaded she first told me 500 more then called back and said 1000 more. I told the guys to stop and weigh at the weigh station to give the weight and they never did because they knew it would havd given me amunition to fight thier charges, bottom line is they use classic bait and switches and pay for good reviews.

As we explained in our first response, we provided a copy of the estimate you agreed to and electronically signed for 533 cf. (3,731 lbs.) of furniture articles and items to be moved. The estimate you agreed to and electronically signed states in the section "Understanding Your Estimate" that the price will not change unless additional services are requested, or additional items are at the pickup location. We did not load the items or provide any services until you were provided the additional cost to move the additional 826 cf. (5,789 lbs.) We gave you the option to pay for the additional furniture articles and items to be moved. You agreed and signed all the paperwork to proceed with the additional items. We never once forced your hand or made you feel that you had to pay for the additional items. The driver explained we would take the original inventory that was agreed upon and anything additional would cost more due to additional labor and taking up more cf. on the truck.

You state *** emailed you an estimate with 846 cf. In which, she did email you on 10/28/2019 at 9:29 am. This estimate she sent you was a ballpark estimate. If you read the estimate also it was an hourly rate based off a 2 bedroom move. It was not a binding estimate. If you look in the estimate email you will see it states its an hourly estimate and in the inventory section, it lists a 2 bedroom move. The estimate you agreed to and electronically signed was based off an inventory of the furniture articles and items you gave *** We have provided attachments of all emails emailed to you from our moving software and all notes from your file. You will see that the dates, times and IP address are listed.

All our moves are quoted based off cf. not weight. Our estimates show the cf. and weight. We feel we have explained everything in detail and provided documents that we did everything the right way. We gave you the option to pay the additional cost. We never forced you to pay. You agreed and signed the paperwork. We also have also offered a $150.00 refund to settle this matter.

The rebuttle states that they now base everything off of cubic feet then explain how I was quoted at 533 cubic feet and the estimate was close to 2100 dollars and after you loading our stuff then charging the extra 1000 and not unloading untill you got paid is pretty much forcing someones hand. So I called *** under another name to see if your quotes would be the same and *** quoted me close to 1800 dollars at around 900 square feet. So you charge by the cu feet then explain how one was at 533 cu ft and 2100 doallars and the other estimate was 900 cubic feet at 100 dollars, it makes no sense because your company is dishonest and when you get called out on weight you switch to cubic feet and when you get called out on cubic feet you switch to man hours, true story just look at the two estimates I provided here and you claim you offered 150 dollars but I never received a call so theres another lie, you bait and switch people end of story.

When the driver arrived and explained that he was going to inventory the items and that if you had additional items there would be an additional cost to move those items. We never forced you or made you feel you had to pay for the additional items. You had the option to pay to have the additional items moved. You signed all the paperwork in which we have provided in previous responses.

You claim that you called "under another name" and spoke with Rachael. We don't know which name you called under and if you gave a complete inventory of your items or the exact inventory our driver recorded at your pick up.

Moving is very stressful. I contacted several moving companies in south Florida. Once I spoke with Cary in the office I knew I had contacted the right moving company. I received a estimate via email and it was very informitive and detailed. The estimate was a flat rate. Cary explained certain details other companies did not explain. She explained I need some packing materials for certain items I had such as my flat screen tv, some paintings, vases, and my mattress. I found that important. She explained how other companies would try to charge me on the day of the move. The estimate also included all the items I told her by room. The movers were very professional and courteous. The arrived on time and finished the move beyond my expectations. I will use this company in the future and refer to anyone. Thank you again for your professionalism.

A friend of mine recommended Americas movers to me. So I hired them to help to pack up and move my sister from West Palm Beach to Hendersonville North Carolina. The employers wrapped up all of her belongings and packed them in the truck very professionally. I was very happy with the service. The guys were very kind, gentle with the valuable items, acted very professional and most definitely hard-working. They showed up on time, their prices were great and everything was perfect. Nothing was missing or damaged. I recommend them to everyone. I will be moving to North Carolina myself soon and I will definitely hire this company again.

Tony and his team are awesome. Super helpful and made my move so much easier. As a single mom with a new born Orlando to Miami was a easy move thanks to them.

I hired Americas movers to pack and move my entire home from West Palm Beach to Georgia. The guys wrapped all of my glass, mirrors and paintings. They also my grandfather clock and piano. I am very pleased with the services the guys were very professional hard-working men everything arrived with out any damages scratches or dents. They also moved my safe and golf cart. I would hire this company again.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. they are top notch! American Movers help make moving day as stress free as possible. quoted us a bid of $2251.42 for a complete truck to move from St Augustine, Fl. to Bradenton, Fl. When the 2 workers arrived their vehicle was partially loaded and they could not get all of our furniture in it and then charged us $200 dollars more for overage. They needed to charge this overage to document items for insurance purposes. We had to leave behind ladders, 2 bed frames, a table and some boxes which we had to drive back the next day to get with our SUV. Our *** matteress was folded over and compressed so tightly that when they unloaded a boxed and packed morror crashed to the truck floor that was unlit when they were unloading at night. The assesed value of the mirror was appoximately $300. Numerous calls to *** were either taken and she said she would call back or she connected me to *** who also said he would call back and there was no claim filled. The drivers never informed me that a claim form was needed to be filled by me but they said that they needed to take the mirror back to dispatch to show the damage. We paid the drivers an extra $200 in cash that they demanded before unloading for the overage. At this point we have still not heard from Americas Movers. Typical bad experiance with moving companies that we have heard about. Should have used Bekins.

Desired Outcome

Refund Refund for $300 for their carelessness in stacking a mirror on top of a folded matteress that required the 2 movers and myself to push the doors closed to latch the truck.

When the driver did the new inventory you 59 items & 121 pieces. He explained to take the additional items it would be an additional $300 for the 700 lbs of items in which you agreed and signed a additional items form. You will see this attached to this response.

We checked our phone records and only have 1 phone call in which Tony explained a claim form needed to be filed. Also the driver has tried several times to reach you on this matter.

We offer a $100 reimbursement and also the 60 cents per pound per article moved insurance in which you signed for. The mirror in a box weighs 75 lbs. That's $45. The total agreed amount to settle will be $145.

We have decided to accept the company's offer of $145.00 for the claim. Americas Movers can disregard the claim forms sent to their claims department, mailed on August 2, 2019.

Movers moved us into our home in late December. During the move; which was completed later than the designated date, a hole was made in a wall along the stairs. Presently, the date is June 5th, and despite several attempts on my end to schedule a time to fix it, it had not been repaired. I have been told someone would get back to me numerous times.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent move. Let me start off by saying I apologize that you didn't have a better experience with your move. But I would like to correct a couple of the statements you stated about our company and your move.

The *** family requested same day delivery and we explained we would do our best to load, travel and unload all in one day. The move was a full service move with some packing. The move was more then 7,000 lbs and the drive in a 26" ft moving truck is about 4.5-5 hours. The movers loaded and packed the customer in about 6.5 hours and then had to drive to West Palm Beach. Once the movers arrived in the evening and had already logged almost 11-12 hours of travel & labor with the DOT electronic reporting we explained we needed to deliver the next day due to the DOT regulations & laws.

We we're informed that there was damage to the wall by the stairs and told the customers we would have it fixed. Numerous times we attempted to set up and appointment. When we finally had scheduled a time for our company handy man to come out and fix the hole in the wall. The handy man went as scheduled and during the process the customer had to leave and we were unable to complete the process.

The customer informed us she was a teacher and her husband was in the military and that at the moment was not a good time and they would call us back to reschedule. The customer called the last week of May and asked if we could schedule for the hole to be fixed. We explained that we would inform the handy man and he would call her when he had availability. We received another call during the week of 6/3-6/7 in which the customer asked when the handy man could come out and we explained that we had passed her information along to the handy man and he call her when he had availability. She said okay.

Then we received this complaint and we contacted the customer again explaining that the handy man would fix the hole and we would take care of the cost. We also informed her again that he was backed up and would call her with availability as soon as he had it.

Again, we're very sorry for any inconveniences we may have caused you. Americas Movers is not perfect, but we try our best to do the right by all our customers as we should when a customer has an issue our goal is to resolve the matter. The company was to move items from a home in Sarasota to a home in New Smyrna Beach. They were scheduled for arrival 4/4 from 8-9. When they didn't arrive by 10:00 I called to see where they were to be told the driver would call with an eta. That turned into another call at 12:39 to find out that they would not arrive until 3:00-4:00. They got instructions on what needed to be done and to call when leaving Sarasota. At around 7:00 I called to see if they were on there way to be told it would not arrive until 11:30. A further call advised that it would not arrive until X:XX-X:XX am the next day. Around 8:30 they still had not arrived I called again to be told that they would call to communicate when they were arriving. Again I called later in the day to be told they had more troubles with the truck and would not be arriving until 7:00 pm. Finally at 7:30 the delivery was made. The communication was lacking the compensation for the incovience was a $100 credit towards a $1933 bill. I need this company investigated for unethical business practices, lack of communication and horrible costumer service.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment $500 credit towards the already paid invoice that need to be made in order to get the items off the truck.

But I would like to do after reviewing your file is correct a couple of the statements you stated about our company and your move. Base on the customer complaint we offered a settlement.

We did schedule your move for 8:00 am-9:00 am pick up and we did inform you that the truck would be late due mechanical issues. Once we arrived in the afternoon our movers worked quickly and efficiently to pack all the items into boxes and wrap all the furniture items and place them on the truck. You had more than 6,000 lbs. to load including packing. Your move was from Sarasota, FL to New Smyrna Beach, FL. We had more than 5 hours of loading and packing and had to drive to New Smyrna Beach that same evening which is a 4-5-hour drive. DOT regulations only allow our movers to drive and work (labor hours) a certain amount per day. We log our drive and labor hours electronically and we do not break the laws. This is not a one day move. We take pride in our service and are priorities are to handle all our customers with care. Again, we our sorry we did arrive late.

Your packing bill came out to a total of $412.00 which was non-binding. The contract was a binding rate based off the inventory you supplied to your moving coordinator. We original quoted you for $1571.00. We had packing (non-binding) on the contract which was explained to you. The bill increased by $12.00. You signed this contract and agreed to the terms of this contract. Below you will see proof.

On Friday morning we did again inform you that truck was still having issues. The dispatcher Tony did contact you between 9:15 am-9:45 am, with an update that the truck still had a mechanical issue. We did inform you that we would give you a discount off the bill due to the issues and also that we were in the process to rent a truck to switch your items over so they could be delivered Friday. All our calls are recorded and we did email you a copy of this recording.

Once the movers arrived to deliver you had the driver call dispatch in which the phone call was being recorded and you demanded a $500 credit because you did not want to pay for packing. Also, on the recording you stated "if you don't give me $500 credit, I will write bad reviews on your company on yelp and Revdex.com." We feel like we were being extorted by you and forcing us to avoid a bad review if we didn't give you the $500 credit. The dispatcher offered a $250 credit in which you denied and so then we gave $100. You paid the bill and signed the bill of lading that the items were delivered correctly and without any damages.

We apologize for any inconveniences we may have caused to you and your family. We feel we did our best and offered a settlement of $250 discount in which the customer refused. We still gave the $100 discount. For any other viewers reading this compliant/review, Americas Movers is not perfect but we try our best to do right by all of our customers as we should, when a customer has an issue our goal is to resolve the matter.

I never once tried to extort your company. The one who was extorted was me. You state that this was not a 1 day move but that is not how it was presented when we booked the service. We were told pick up and pack would start between 8-9 and that delivery to New Smyrna would be at 4 the same day. Upon being informed around noon that the truck would not be arriving until 3 I had to rent a Uhaul truck and pack up more than half the house so that o could transport the items to new Smyrna myself. So your company did not pack up the 6000 lbs quoted as reflected on the items that were crossed out on the delivery sheet as those items were moved by me the day prior. Had I been informed it was a 2 day move I would have contacted another company to handle the move as we were working on a time line. The items were part of an estate sale that need to be there Thurs night for a Friday sale. That didn't happen as the items did not arrive until 7 pm on Friday. As stated I did request for $500 credit to offset my troubles and increased expenses for having to rent a uhaul and move 1/2 myself. And yes I did state that I would be filing a complaint which would have been filed no matter what even if the credit had been given.

I contacted this company to move my home in Pembroke Pines Florida to Decatur Georgia. I scheduled a visual estimate at my home. They explained everything in great detail. The packed all my boxes and labeled each one. They were very careful with all my china and paintings. They also built a crate with for my chandlier. They loaded everything the following day and drove the truck up the next day. On the 4th day they unloaded the item and placed everything to my liking. I had gotten other quotes but America's movers guaranteed a 4 day move window where other companies told me 5-7 day delivery. I highly recommend this professional company. Very professsional, courteous, polite, up front.

I hired this moving company from home advisor. I did a lot of research before making a decision with a moving company. Jordan the President of the company came out and met myself and my grandfather. He did a free estimate for a pack and move. The price was very reasonable and the service was even better. The labeled all the boxes and wrapped all my furniture. from America's Movers solicited my business through various phone calls after a general search through UHaul for a moving company. She spoke with my mother and the arrangements were made for pick-up on Thursday November 1st. My mother told her that she had approximately 40-50 boxes, 2 dressers, 2 mattress and box springs, an armoire, 2 curio cabinets and a chaise lounge. This was the first time that we were doing anything like this. Cary did not inquire if she had any items with glass that would need to be protected, which would have included the cardboard and padding, etc. After the movers arrived and saw that we had more items than what was mentioned they said there would be an additional charge for the padding and protection of the glass items. The original quote and agreed upon price was $787.00 and after some the office added the additional items, the final price was $1007.50. Before the moving took place, a call was placed to the office to speak with Cary to clarify what was agreed upon. She refused to speak with my mother and put someone else on the phone who was extremely rude to her and told her that nothing was for free. Cary did not perform her job correctly and did not ask pertinent questions. The guys that did the move, mentioned that this is what Cary does all the time.

First we would like to apologize for any inconveniences we may have caused you and not meeting your standards.

You stated that Cary did not mention anything about packing material but after listening to the recordings she did offer your mother mattress bags.

On all our contracts that are sent via email to the customer before setting up the move is attatched is a packing material list. It also states in the contract: " PACKING: Part of our complimentary service wrapping all furniture articles & items with moving blankets by moving professionals. However, TV's, mirrors, mattresses, glass, pictures, paintings and marble tops might need special care. Please ask your moving coordinator for information & rates on additional packing services. Your moving coordinator can email you a list of the packing services we offer. At pick up your driver will have a packing material list."

We have attached the contract that was signed electronically and shows the IP address, email & name was signed.

When the driver arrived he did notify the office of the additional items and sent pictures to the dispatcher. We did notify you and your mother of the additional items that was agreed upon. We also informed you and your mother that you did have some items that needed special care. We informed you that we could use a moving blanket or mirror pack the items. You gave us a verbal agreement on the phone to proceed to pack these items. We also have a bill of lading with signatures authorizing these services.

We don't charge any customers for anything they don't request. We feel we informed your mother prior to the move of the mattress bags and special packing if she wanted it.

We will come to a settlement of $25.00 to settle this matter.

There is no need for any further investigation. I refuse the offer of $25.00. Frankly, it's an insult. I know what they did, whether they admit it or not. They're liars and if they choose to do business fraudulently, that's on them. Thank you for your inquiry.
