We understand the frustration [redacted] has experienced but occasionally unexpected issues arise. We clearly bid the job for up to 3 hours, [redacted] actually spent more than that as noted at the top of his paperwork and as shown on his GPS in his 2014 [redacted] Transit van. First our initial bid with...

acceptance of the install and initialed declination of us pulling the permit. At the time he said we charge too much for something he could do. That was his decision and we understand that decision but if it takes us over an hour to pull, pay and post a permit, we feel $250.00 is more than reasonable.  Second our invoice with his agreement to install his water heater with item #2 declined. Two prices were shown to [redacted], first is our regular price which is $349.32 and our discount price of $219.87 if we do it with item #1. The price of 349.32 only applies if we have to come back another day. The pricing was confirmed by me when [redacted] called from the job site. It was taken from our book price which I developed.

Wow... thank you so much for going to bat for me over the abandonment of the contract I signed for a water heater (I bought separately) with America's Plumbing ID. [redacted].The entire issue was the plumber said he found an asbestos flue in the attic that then needed to be replaced by type "B" double walled metal after he started work and my stance was as I told him it behoved him to go up in the attic before giving me a bit and signing it for $704 and that he did not do, so... he wanted to charge me $250 more to complete the flue installation when he started at 8 a.m and it was already 2 p.m way over the 3 hour time he said it would take it install the [redacted] White water 40 gallon water heater. I said I didn't have the funds to pay him 10 cents more as I had scraped and saved just to get that $704 amount.... so I paid him off $704 and off he drove telling me I needed 7" of 'B' type flue and two 45 degree joints of 'B' type double metal asking for the original contract and notating that as No. 2 issues to be paid. No frigen way hosay. You bit it at $704 and so you need to keep to your bid and so it went AGAIN FOR A MONTH or less un operative and I still had cold water to bath in having paid $704 to America's Blumbing ownerd by [redacted] and installed by [redacted] who was the person that gave me the big in the first place. He came with out the proper flues and 45 degree joints or plumbers straping to secure the flue in the attic or... screws to join each pipe t-each other. I saw that ineptness as being 'set up' as a fool and paying $250 to him to get the permit down town and $250 more to finish the job. Son of a B. cold as a witch. I just got screwed but good and he thought I would simply fork over $500 more to finish the installation or $1,204 to install my uncrated Lowe's water heater I bought months previously as cash would allow being 76 and disabled and do not drive a car as well... things are already hard enough to contend with with out being riped off by trades people. See California State License Board I had a drive take me to on Business Park Drive off of Bradshaw there in Ranch Cordova, Ca. and back again with the forms. As I see it the matter is still unfinished and libal if America's Plumbing sees fit to reemberse me for the labor I had to pay another plumber of which I have a receipt for of about $100 and parts I then paid for and installed by some one else which I do not of corse expect reemberment for. My main thing is to stop further con's like him from prepertrating on elderly and disabled.

Review: They charge me $157.50 for diagnostic and an 1 hr. of his time. Afterwards they will charge me again for the same amount just to speak w/d warranty.

I had a water heater problem, so I called a tech to come over. I was charge right away with $157.50 for diagnostic and 1 hour of his time. He didn't accomplish anything cause he could not contact the manufacturer who has the warranty. So as he left he wrote down the model no. and the serial no. and the customer no. of Bradford white co., so he told me he will call them and when he comes back the next day he will be bringing the replacements parts and I expect that I will just be paying for his labor at that time. But the unexpected happen, as I receive a call from the tech the next day and told me that he will come over to my property just to call the customer service and charge me once again for 157.50 for his 1 hour of his time.Desired Settlement: Fixing is their job, not charging customers without any result!

We are truely sorry you feel you did not get the desired result. As you know, we spent over an hour diagnosing your problem and were on-hold with the manufacturer of your water heater for quite awhile. Our labor rate is 157.50 to diagnose the issue. This you agreed to. The additional 157.50 is to install the parts as recommended by the manufacturer. The parts in question are not normally stocked on our trucks as these parts don't normally fail. As of this date we diagnosed the problem, spoke to the local manufacturers rep (who referred us back to the manufacturer), and attempted a 2nd call to the manufacturer tech support who again failed to answer our calls. We too are disappointed in the tech support for not addressing your warrantyable situation. We are still waiting to hear if they will cover your parts under warranty, although it is firm belief they should. It is not our normal business practice to buy the parts and then see if they will reimburse us. In light of the above and your concern we are mailing your check back to you. On behalf of the manufacturer, We sincerely applogize for the delay in service.
