To whom it may concern,
[redacted] the store manager of our Auburn location reached out directly to [redacted] to discuss the misunderstanding of what the charge was for. He explained that it is for the Certificate coverage on the tire, this provides 100% coverage for road hazard or defect. To...

my understanding Judi wanted to continue with the coverage, it is optional and can be refunded if she requests it to be. To our understanding this has been resolved and we just needed to better communicate what the charge was for. If there are any further questions please feel free to contact our regional office at [redacted] or by email @ [redacted], Thank you.

We are currently working with Mr. [redacted] to find a solution to resolve the issue at hand

When the customer came in for the first time the tire was destroyed, we had never worked on the vehicle before.  The existing lug nuts were destroyed!  It took us 15 minutes to remove five lug nuts.  These particular lug nuts are factory unique, and we did not have lugs in stock that...

we could re-install the wheel cover.  The old lug nuts could not be reused.  We did have lug nuts that could be installed on the car to install the "wheel" back on the car.  We searched for the customer by phone at three dealerships and could not find the factory lug nuts in stock.  There was no other choice than to install the wheel without the "Hubcap".  At any time during this process we were never told to stop service for any reason by the customer.Prior to the customers letter to you we had already verbally extended the refund for lugs and certificate coverage.  If the customer would like to purchase a tire elsewhere I will also extend a full refund for the returned tire in good condition. Americas Tire did the right thing by the customer to keep them safe.

The tires in question had uneven mechanical wear due to a mechanical issue with the car. Due to the fact that Mr. [redacted] was unhappy with them, I offered to treat them as if they had a defect(even though they did not qualify) and replace them under a pro-ration as is stated in his warranty. Mr. [redacted]...

declined and requested that they be replaced for free. I feel what I offered was more than fair and would love to speak with Mr. [redacted] again if he has any confusion regarding how his warranty works.

I am rejecting this response because: America's Tire sold me a tire, 5 lugs, and a warranty on four tires. I paid upfront because that is there policy. My wife and I was asked if we were going to stay while they work on the car we said no we were going to leave. We went home and nobody called to inform us about not having the lugs to fit my wife's car. We were not given the option to give permission for America's Tire to put on substitute lugs and leave off he hubcap on my wife's car.I dropped my wife off to pick up her car and the services, which she paid for was not completed. This upset my wife very much to leave without her hubcap.I requested from the Regional Manager to be refunded for the five lug nuts and warranty and he agreed. I will be going to Americas Tire for refund.

Customer refunded, all handled!

Review: I purchased 4 new tires from Americas tires and new locking lug nuts for my 2005 Pontiac GTO on date 12/12/14 after driving home I noticed that all the lug nut cover were broken and 1 of the rim had a large chip in the rim from hitting it with a impact socket (19 mm socket match the damage on the rim perfectly when socket it placed on the damage area of the rim) I spoke with the manager "[redacted]" about my concerns. [redacted] said he would look into getting the lug caps replaced but it would take 30-60 day to get the replacement covers [redacted] did not do anything about the damage to the rim from the impact socket.. about a week later I drove the Vehicle to my work and then notice that Americas tire put two different set of tires on my vehicle. The Two rear tires were the one I asked for with the newer technology and the to front tire were and older version of the tires "different tread pattern" once again I had to go back to have them correct the mistake. about three weeks after that, my new lug cover came in and I thought this incident was over. till yesterday 5/4/16 when I was having maintenance done to the vehicle and the repair shop informed me that 2 of the lug nut stud were broken off and there was no lug nut in the sealed lug nut cover. One of them in the right rear wheel and one in the right front wheel and also another lug nut was cross threaded and only half way screwed on in the right rear wheel. Americas tire did not inform me that they broke Two of my studs and cross threaded another one...- *super dangerous* for a high performance Vehicle or any other vehicle. and on top of that I paid for 20 lug nuts not 18 where are the other two? I do have all my receipts and damaged studs, lug nut, rim, old damaged lug caps, invoice for the new studs, new lug nut set, labor to repair, and pictures of the damage to the rim. I am disabled so I haven't drove the car much due to my disability mileage when tire where replaced was 91,812 currant mileage is 93,311Desired Settlement: I would like to request a refund for the repair to my Vehicle. I have a work order and receipts for the new studs, lug nut set, damage to the right rear rim, and labor for the repairs totaling $363.03

Review: I took my car into America's Tires to replace all four wheels and my car was returned with two dents and scratches on the fender. Americas Tires filed a claim and denied my claim. I went into get tires with my car flawless and now have dents.Desired Settlement: I want the damage that was done on my car repaired.

Business

Response:

Through a thorough investigation into the alleged scratches we determined that there was little to no doubt that America's Tire did not scratch her fender. This is the first mention about dents as well. From the time that she was in our shop until her return to show us the scratch the car could have been in a number of other situations that could have caused the scratch. If we thought we could have done it, we would have paid for it, that's the kind of company we are. However that is not the case here. We will not be fixing Ms. [redacted] car.

I am rejecting this response because: my car was damaged at Americas Tires and I need my car repaired. I witnessed employees being care less with tool, and driving customers vehicles.

Response:

On July 3rd I took my 2007 CLS 550 into Americas Tires to have new tires put on. I called at 8:21 am and was told my tires were in and that I could go right than to get tires put on. I left the gym and went straight there. Since I had interrupted my work out and 24hour fitness is across the street, I told Vince that if I am not here when my car is completed, Please double park my car or park in the handicap AWAY from the cars because I DO NOT WANT ANY DINGS in my car. I made sure to return on time to avoid any issues. As I was in the front waiting for my car to be done, an employee gets in my vehicle to back it out as another employee was guiding him. The employee in my car disregarded the guide from the other employee and almost ran into the pole that I was standing near. I was soo angry with how the employee drove my car, I hurried up and got in my car and left to avoid causing a scene at Americas Tires. I noticed a white mark on my car, but thought it was was bird poop and just left. around 10am.

Review: I bought tires from Americas Tire in February 2014, the brand new tire I bought is already completely bald so bad that the treads are showing and it looks like a old tire completely unsafe to drive my car because of how quickly the tire wore out. I'm completely unsatisfied with this tire due to the fact that I paid 189 for the two tires and one of them is already gone bald completely. This is very upsetting and I will never purchase from Americas Tire in Turlock, CA ever again. I feel that its because I'm a 24 year old woman they took advantage of me and sold me a faulty tire, they should have informed me that these where extremely cheap tires, I want my money back every penny and want people to know that Americas Tire sells cheap faulty defective tires to the public, this is wrong and fell that because I'm a young woman they really didn't want to help me at all. They should have given me a refund. Bad Service all around extremely disappointed.Desired Settlement: I want at least the money back that I spent on the tire that went bald.

I see on 2/10/2014 we installed two tires on your 1999 chevrolet cavalier at 171,281 miles. On the work order it shows that we replace the front tires and rotated them to the rear. I'm am sorry to hear that the tires we installed have worn out so quickly. There are a few things that could cause a tire to wear so rapidly, it may be alignment our something mechanical that could cause such wear. The tires you have do come with a manufacter warranty that covers tire defects and a mileage warranty of 35,000 thousand miles witch would allow credit for the mileage not received on the tire if something mechanical did not the premature tire wear. Ultimately your customer saticfation is my number one priority and I would love to work with you to get this issue resolved. Please give me a call at ###-###-#### our come by the shop and see me. Thank you for you time. [redacted] Manager America's Tire Turlock Ca.

Review: I went to this tire store to get four new tires mounted and balanced. After I left the store I drove home. I live in the hills through some very dangerous roads. Hwy 49 through the "Devide" in gold country. The roads are trecherous. I noticed the wheels wobbling. We came very close to going off a cliff. When I got home, I asked my son to look at it, he said that all of the locks on each wheel were only hand tightened and that most of the lug nuts were either hand tightened or not tightened to the 130 torque required. My son promptly used a torque wrench and tightened every lug nut and lock on every wheel to the required 130. Someone could have been killed because of their negligence. Slow down and check your work! You may save a life!Desired Settlement: I would like an appoligy and my $64.00 back. Because of the stress they caused me and my family. We are considering contacting The Dept of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Automotive Repairs and possible our attorney about the matter and may seek other avenues. I would like to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. People could die because of their negligence. I don't care about the lousy $64.00 dollars as much as I care about the future likelyhood of this happening again to someone else.

Morning,

I have recently attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] at both numbers listed in our store system, unfortunately Mr. [redacted] listed our store phone number as his contact number? We would love to speak with him and have this matter resolved in a timely fashion. I have listed my contact info below. Thank you.

Review: Purchased a new left rear tire with five new lugs for my wife' car (from America's Tire on 11/08/2014). There policy is to pay up front before service is completed. I was told to come back later and my car would be ready. When I came back to pick my car up they had put on my wife's new new tire with lugs, which was not for my car type 2008 [redacted]. I was told they could not put my hub cap back on because the lugs was not the right type, but I could drive the car. They said they would have to order lugs to fit my car. The sales representative said they will order the Lugs and call my wife when the items came in. Now my wife have to drive with Lugs on my tire, which are not for my tire and no hub cap. This made me and my wife extremely angry because we were not given the option to decline the whole service (purchase a tire with lugs to fit my car). No one contacted me to ask if this was OK, they just put lugs on my tire, which are to short and my hub cap is in my trunk, which is totally unacceptable because I paid upfront for a service, which was not complete.Desired Settlement: I have decided to go to [redacted] Service Department and have them put on new Lugs and my wife's hub cap. I would like to give back the loner Lugs, which was put on my wife's car and have them to refund me $15.00. In addition, I would like America's Tire to refund my the warranty to cover other [redacted] Integrity Right Rear and Private Brand front Tires ($58.00 for warranty). I know longer respect this company. When my wife paid for the service she and I expected for the full service agreement.

Review: On January 2013 I purchased a set of 4 new tires from Americas tire co for the sum of approximately $ 1100.00 which includes life time guarantee and service roughly two years into the contract I went to get my tires rotated and balanced as I usually do it was than that a store manager implied me that they could no longer rotate my tires or check the leak I was concerned with due to apparently the wrong tires have been put on my truck now they feel that in order to resolve this problem they think I should share cost of a new set of tires because I have used the tires for two years. I went to them because their the experts they made the mistake and put the wrong tires on my truck and now I cant get the tires rotated or have the leak checked. Over the two years I have been their several times and they never noticed their own mistake until now .Desired Settlement: I feel due to the circumstances they should cover the cost for a new set of tires at equal value I originally paid with full life time guarantee and service which again I had already paid for .Without coming out of my pocket at all I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake when I made several appoints to have my tires looked at and check. they never noticed their mistake until now.

I personally have been in contact with Mr. [redacted], We had an opportunity to discuss this situation on Sept. 21st at approximately 4:30pm. During this conversation I explained to Mr. [redacted] that years ago when his requested [redacted] tires where installed there was nothing to be concerned with. With our company being on the fore front of safety we today would no longer do the same application and recommended he have them removed. During our discussion we had come to a resolution that we would adjust the tires off at a discounted rate and would charge no labor to install the new tires of equal value. His adjusted price came to a total of just over $300 dollars, the reason it was so low is that we are crediting him for the usage he would not receive from the current set and would only be charging him for the usage over the past few years he received out of his current tires (we greatly increased the credit). Mr. [redacted] agreed to this and and requested that I text him the information on the replacement tires which I did on Sept 21st. On Sept 23rd Mr. [redacted] responded to my text stating that he was going to meet with his attorney and would be in touch with me. To this day I have not heard from Mr. [redacted] or his attorney.

Review: On April 17, 2014 at approximately 8am I took my car to America's Tire Company in Tracy, CA to have them repair my flat tire on my rear passenger side. During the process, I watched the entire time the technician and several others tried to remove the tire off the rim. Time and time again I saw them use a metal crowbar type of tool with a machine trying to separate the rim and tire. Many times it looked like they were "beating" on my rim as they had difficulty removing the tire. They moved my rim/tire to a different machine and mounted the rim upside again trying to separate the two with no success. After they removed it, they repaired and removed the nail in the tire. Once again they had difficulty trying to mount the tire back on the rim. Again I witnessed as they used metal crowbar tools forcefully trying to attach the tire. At one point the tech's tool slipped and looked like it broke or bent something. At this point I knew something had happened. After the install was complete I inspected the rim and found numerous heavy/deep scratches with the paint finish peeling off my rim. The rim also has clear damage where you can tell some piece of metal ripped it off. I confronted the Manager ([redacted]) and he stated it was "curb rash" and it was "already there". This is a blatant lie as I took a picture of the rim before I took it in. His only excuse was that the machine "does not touch the rim". He completely dismissed my inquiry to when they used the metal crowbar saying the crowbar also does not touch the rim which is completely false as I witnessed them "knick" the rim. I showed him the before picture and after and he questioned me asking when I took the picture. The picture has a timestamp embedded with the time showing right before I took it in. I am extremely angry that his technicians purposely and carelessly damaged my rim on my car. The main technician who worked on my car is [redacted]. I have all the pictures showing the condition of the rim before and after as proof.Desired Settlement: I want my rim replaced by America's Tire Company. It is a 19" VMR VB3 Hyperblack rim ET33. The rim looks terrible damaged.

Review: I was quoted one price $962 for a set of tires and then after they were installed asked to pay $1092 for the tire with Certificates that were suppose to be included in the original price quote. I spoke with [redacted] in the West Sacramento Store and with a regional manager [redacted] and they are unwilling to admit this was a bate and switch price.

Product_Or_Service: Michelin Tires

Account_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: No settlement requested - for

I feel they should honor the $962 price for the entire package. Since they don't seem willing to do that I plan to return and get my old tires put back on the car and start over again. Shoppers should be aware of these business practices. Beware of America Tire Company.

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] price shopped America's Tire and Radial Tire on the phone. He stated that Radial Tire had beaten our price, so keeping with our low price guarantee we honored and beat the competitor's quote. When Mr. [redacted] phoned he was quoted our computer screen price programed at aprox. $1084. When he said Radal Tire has them for less we lowered our price based on his findings and that price we agreed on was $962.

Upon arrival, our quote in the system which he signed was $962. After the tires were installed [redacted] approached him about the possible sale of certificats on the tires, which is standard operating procedure. If he wanted the "Certificates" it would then raise the price $134.50 back to a little more the original quote. The certificate was never quoted on the phone, we don't as a rule do that unless asked for. What we did was we "reduced the original price of the tires about $135. to beat Radial Tire". Our regular price with certificates if quoted over the phone is $1218.56

Americas Tire offers a "Certificate for free replacement, we charge for this because it is a comprehensive free replacement of the tire for damage or defect. There was no bait and switch at all. Radial Tire does not offer a warranty like our certificate, we called and verified. Mr. [redacted] stated that the owner of the company "Said" he would give him the same coverage as our certificate, but would not put that in writting. Bait and switch has nothing to do with this transaction.

We value all of our customers and wish to retain Mr. [redacted]'s business. The tires that were removed from his car will not be placed back in service due to severe wear. Mr. [redacted] stated that he would be back in the store on December 30th to return the tires and retrieve his old tires. [redacted] was there ready to serve Mr. [redacted] but he did not show or call. It is now January 13th and his old tires have been discarded. We hope Mr. [redacted] would keep the tires on his car, and what we would be willing to do is to refund the cost of his labor for install and balancing to retain his business.

If he chooses not to do business with us and wishes a refund he needs to purchase tires elsewhere then return our tires ASAP to assure a full refund.

I am rejecting this response because: The price I was originally quoted was suppose to be an out the door price including certificates. The price match I was quoted was also suppose to be an out the door price including certificated. By law in California I should have been presented with an itemized receipt showing what the $962.00 price included before the tires were installed on the car. I did not leave the dealer when the tires were installed on my car and I was never presented the itemized receipt until the car was done. This is when I became aware the certificates were not included in the final price. This is a bait and switch scam and America Tires will not own this. I am fine not doing business with them again but other buyers should be aware that this is there practice as well as the fact that their West Coast Vice President of Operations, [redacted] and Steve a representative for America's Tire in Scottsdale Arizona were extremely rude to me on the phone when all I requested was an explanation or apology for this illegal and unethical business practice. Buyer beware of America Tire Company.

Sincerely,

Review: Purchased two tires and four wheels on 02/11/2014 Returned to replace the wheels on 02/19/2014 because the tires were rubbing on the upper control arms. On 03/15/2014 discovered that 3 studs and lugnuts were broken and missing. Called ATC spoke with [redacted] explained his Co. Was the last people to touch my truck. He had me bring my truck to [redacted] repair and replace the studs and bill to ATC. The repairs were complete by 03/20/2014. I purchased two more new tires from ATC on 04/02/2014. As I was driving down the road with four teenagers and myself in my truck the wheel fell off the truck. Last Co. to touch my truck, America's Tire Co. What happened again is the studs broke again. I submitted a claim and they handled it very poorly. I have had to continually call them with No return calls;all documented. In four years of owning my truck, never have I had tire problems until Americas Tire Co. touched the truck. They are not taking responsibility for their installation negligence. I have all receipts and invoices to back up my claim.Desired Settlement: I would like them to take responsibility for the obvious negligence and give me fair market value for my vehicle as well as loss of use reimbursement for leaving me in limbo and without a vehicle.
