They sent me a letter that sounded great but upon speaking to them they didn’t have any of my information... the wanted my email and DOB. Come to find out they wanted to log in my FASFA account and change my password! I said I already can access my account why are you changing my password? He said because they need to see everything so they can “determine what my assistance would be” I said this is where all my personal information is. Not a good idea to give them. They are so smooth too. Please don’t give anyone your FASFA INFO.

they lied outright on what my payments and interest rate would be, I have proof and am pursuing these criminals.

This company is predatory and unethical to say the least. I received correspondence from them in the mail that was designed to appear that it was sent to you from the United States Department of Education. I am sure when the company responds to my comment that they will point out the disclaimer at the bottom of the letter - There is a statement in very small print at the bottom that states they are not affiliated with the federal government. Nonetheless, the letter was formatted to appear as such and the disclaimer was conveniently placed in where it could easily be missed, I doubt that either is a coincidence.*** The letter states that there are new laws in place regarding federal student loans and I "could be eligible for total loan forgiveness". Call "today to redeem your federal benefits."

I called the number and spoke to Diego, who never identified what company he works for, and never states that he is not affiliated with the United States Department of Education. Based on the way he spoke to me for this entire phone call, I was under the impression that he was affiliated with the Dept. of Education, when he was actually just trying to get my login information for my studentloans.gov account. He asked me what email address I have on file with studentloans.gov. And after a few tries, he was able to "find my account". Looking back now, it is clear that he was trying to figure our what my username and password were by getting me to reset my password. He sends the reset password link to my email address and asks me to read him the secure code to "confirm my identity". This was to allow him to reset my password. Once got that code he reset my password and told me what my new "secure password" that he reset while logged into my account would be, and had me write it down.

Next, for my application, he gets my social security number, birthday, address, phone number, income, etc. He also gets some information about my employer. He explains what I now know to be the REPAYE repayment plan for federal student loans (which you can apply for at any time for free at studentloans.gov). He explains the details, benefits, requirements of this plan and how it will benefit me (i.e. credit score, lower payments, loan forgiveness), but to enroll I need to pay their one-time document processing fee. The cost is initially $1799, but through a few "promotions" and "discounts", he gets the fee down to $799. I give him my bank account information for a payment to be drafter in 4 business days.

Diego then sends me an email where I e-sign some documents. He then tells me that I will receive two more emails with additional documents to sign and that I will need to send in my two most recent pay stubs. Fortunately, I decided to thoughtfully read the documents that he sent to me and research the REPAYE payment plan before I provided any more signatures. I quickly discovered that I could easily apply for REPAYE on my own without paying any fee, at any time.

I call Diego back early on Monday morning telling him that I would like to cancel my contract agreement with AmeriFed. He makes a few attempts to talk me out if it as I am sure they are coached to do. After standing my ground and insisting that the agreement be terminated, he becomes irate and aggressive telling me this is a "one-time deal" and "good luck paying all your debt off on your own". He also says he can no longer help me and I need to call their specific customer service line to get my account and bank account draft cancelled. Between 10:00AM and 4:00PM, I called this number over 50 times and it went to voicemail every single time.

I left two voicemails and sent an email notifying them that I no longer authorize the draft. I also notified my bank to issue a stop payment. I also spent my entire day speaking with representatives for Navient, The Department of Education, and the Federal Trade Commission.

At the end of the day, I became fed up and called the number originally listed on the letter I received, which directs you to their "Financial Representatives" or whatever they call themselves. I asked the female who answered if she was customer service and she tried to give me their separate number that Diego had already so graciously provided me with. I told her I had already called and left multiple voicemails and asked her if their customer service department actually existed. She gave me some COVID related excuse, but offered to put me on hold to check my file for any messages.

After a few minutes, she comes back and tells me that my file "had already been closed and all personal information had been deleted", so I guess they decided at that time that they needed to make me go away.

I am still extremely concerned about the fact that this company has my personal information and was able to login into my studentloans.gov account without me giving them consent. They know my social, birthday, employer information, and bank account. This is not a reputable company and who knows what they might do with my information. They obtained it through deceitful practices and I would have never agreed to provide this to them if they had followed ethical business practices in any of our interactions. I've spent the past few days making calls to every agency, company, service to make sure they do not allow this company to act on my behalf or use my personal information, but I am still very nervous. Amerifed Doc Prep is not a legitimate business, however they portray themselves as such to charge people fees and likely compromise their personal information.

Bbig scam , they change student loan id then try to collect money from you as they promise for loan forgiveness. Don't trust them. Big big scam.

Hello Cleint, No scam, just people getting great results, who felt like sharing their success. We explain to our clients that It is a very complex and long term process for borrowers to navigate these waters correctly and receive the benefits which they are entitled to at the end of the program. Which is why most individuals prefer to hire companies like ours to help them fill out and submit the paperwork correctly and accurately.

This company is looking to scam you out of your money. They reset the password to my student loan account by asking my birthdate and sending a code to my email which I read back to them. They didn’t ask me to do this and I didn’t approve it.
If you look online it’s free to consolidate your student loans yet this company convinced me that they were giving me a deal the same way that I’ve experienced sales to work at a car dealership. They quote you a higher fee, leave you for a couple moments to think it over and then give you a lower price.

Everything that anyone has said who has rated this company a 1 star is accurate. Any review with 5 stars is fake and probably one of them leaving the review. Because when your whole life is threatened by someone posing as you and rushing you to give them your bank account info and wanting your place of employment and entering your fsaID acct without permission by clicking on forgot password and telling you that they are sending you the passcode - you wouldn't give them 5 stars. When you really sit and think about the events of dealing with them ..you won't give 5 stars. This company must be a brand new name because when I reported them to DOE and my lender, neither had heard of them. So, it appears every few days or so they change their name and phone numbers. I am going to be very cautious from here on out because there are people like this who sit and plot how to ruin people's lives because they're too lazy to get a real job and work to make their own money. No, they'd rather work hard to steal other people's identities and money. In conclusion, I reported them to everyone I possibly could and froze everything and changed account nbrs and have credit monitoring things in place. It's really sad and I hope the worst for each of those people. Because if you can't help someone you shouldn't harm them. So to all those people involved in this big elaborate scam, I hope they know no peace and are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And when called upon, I will be front and center because I already have my deposition in hand.

The reviews are fake, I'm sure of it!!! And the ones that are not at have been written before they found out y'all are fraudsters. And don't lump me in the "people like yourself getting great results" category because I didn't receive "great" results or any result for that matter. What I received was a traumatic experience from thieves like yourself who go after people's information. That was the "result" I got.
Lastly, it's interesting you felt the need to attempt to dispel the so-called reviews of your fraudulent company but not the actual practices. How you send out professional-looking mailers to lure people into your seedy business. How you work under the disguise of the Dept. of Education when I received a response from them stating "there are currently no programs at this time regarding student loan consolidation". Also, all the agencies who I reported you all to did not have a clue who you all were. Probably because you all are like viruses that keep replicating. But don't bother answering to me on here because once the investigations are done, you'll have a higher power to answer to. As much as you all are trying to keep this scam ring going, it looks like you all are unraveling. Don't comment on here trying to sway people's minds once they research Amerifed Doc Prep and realize how fake you all are. Only comment when you have facts because those are what I have. And the reporting agencies as well. Because I've sent them all correspondence and will be sending this post to them too.

This company needs to be shut down! I did not sign or submit documents and they charged my bank account $266 with out my permission. I had tried to speak to Hector, the person that was trying to enroll me, to cancel and he has not called back. I never submitted the forms they requested within their 48 hour deal and couldn't get ahold of this guy to cancel. I feel robbed!

I was a little bit skeptical going into this, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to work with Amerified Doc Prep. They were so patient in answering all of my questions, walked me through the whole process, and explained everything to me in great depth. So happy to finally have my Student loans back on track!

A few months back I was in a really bad bind financially and a family member of mine told me about how their coworker used Amerifed Doc Prep. . I was a little hesitant at first because I have never heard of them. After speaking with their representatives for awhile I felt at ease. They are very well versed and explained everything very thoroughly. I am very picky with how I make my decisions but this one was a no brainer. My overall finances are in a much better situation. Would definitely recommend them.

The whole process was remarkably easy. My representative walked me through all the steps needed. I feel very lucky to have been approved and start working on towards paying off my student loan debts.
I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Thank you!

I'm very impressed with this company! Would definitely recommend them! After I graduated medical school, my school or my lenders walk me through on how to pay back my loans or what programs were out there for me. This company has helped me with the document preparation to consolidate and enroll into a forgiveness program! Not only do I have a lower payment but I'm also qualified for Public Loan Forgiveness. They are very responsive and informative when and if I have questions.

Amerifed Doc Prep Response • Jul 09, 2020

My apologies! Autumn

Scam. I taken advantage of my emotional and financial state especially during this hard pandemic time. I was fooled. I just want my money back.

SCAM!!! DON’T PAY THEM ANYTHING!!!
They mailed a letter to myself and my co-signer stating they could lower my payments and even eliminate my student loan debt. Everything they offered to do for me for a one time payment of $799 + $39 a month can be done for FREE by me on the Federal Student Aid website! I called my loan servicer and asked them about this third party Amerifed company and they said DON’T give them anything. The loan service company I have had for years did help me for FREE. Thank goodness I didn’t fall for this SCAM! Always do your research!!!!

+1

This company is horrible!!!!! I fell for their scam because the deal to consolidate my loans sounded awesome. But as I got off the phone with them, it didn't sit right. I realized that everything that they were doing can be done FOR FREE ON YOUR OWN. They scam you by taking your money and filling out forms that can be done AGAIN FOR FREE.

Further, when I asked to cancel my account, I was ridiculed by the customer service rep and how high my loans were and how I was never going to repay them. I then further asked that they provide proof, under the CCPA - California Consumer Protection Act, that they delete all my sensitive and personal information. I was responded with hostility. They refused to answer any of my phone calls or return the countless voicemails I left. It took me over a month to finally get someone to answer my phone call and my concern. I was patient and gracious throughout the whole process until the end when OVER A MONTH OF COUNTLESS CALLS WERE IGNORED.

Once I finally got angry, I again was greeted with hostility and brashness from the 'management level'. I was asked "what do you want us to do to show you proof of cancelling your account'. I proceeded to explain that BY LAW you are to provide me, the consumer, with proof that you have DELETED my personal information. As a consumer, I am not obligated to tell a company how to proceed under CALIFORNIA LAW. These protocols should already be in place!!!!

Jade Davis - supposed manager - stated that she won't delete anything just cancel my account. She was rude, distasteful, and upright hostile when I wanted MY personal information deleted.

WORST, WORST COMPANY AND PEOPLE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!!!

Scam .. they make it sound like they’re with Netlet and that your payment is $39 per month for 20 years. Then charged me $299 for 3 months ... SCAM

The attorney General should investigate this company!!! they are complete fraud.
