We have been advertising via postcard to local residents and business for the years that we have been preparing income taxes in Northern Virginia(see attached sample)We do not advertise on the postcard that *** *** received, that an appointment with the CPA is FREEWe advertise that we are
offering a discount on the income tax preparation.We advise all clients when they call to make the appointment, that there is a $consultation fee - that is applied as a retainer fee for the income tax preparationThis information has been posted on our web site as well(see attached)Just as a lawyer, doctor, or other professional service provider, we do not meet with clients for FREE.*** *** was rude to my front desk assistant when she tried to collect the $He raised his voice and kept saying repeatedly that he "Just wanted to meet with the CPA and ask a few questions." I think he just wanted some FREE advice and didn't want to pay for it.| explained to *** *** again that MrCoker charges for his time, that he would have an hour to ask questions, and that fee would apply to his individual income tax return preparation.*** *** was impolite to me as well, and shouted.I have removed *** *** from our mailing list, he will receive no more postcards from us.In summary, *** *** seems to think that he was entitled to a FREE consultation, which our postcard did NOT advertise, and he became rude when we tried to collect the retainer/consult fee.After our unpleasant encounter with *** ***, we have added an email confirmation to all clients who make appointments to remind them of the $consult / retainer fee.Thank You for requesting to hear our side of the issuePlease let me know if any questions or you need additional info Thanks
