Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I have no problem with Amerikey releasing the unedited phone recordings or transcripts from both the dispatcher I spoke to (I believe his name was Jammal) on October *** at approximately 7:35-7:who stated that a technician would not and could not be dispatched without my credit card authorization, as well as the recording from my initial complaint to Amerikey's management teamIn the later recording you'll find that I acknowledged as I had in my initial written complaint, that I was aware the price of the job would be $for a technician to come out and $plus for the lock replacementIn said recording you will also hear the management staff state that the dispatchers are not given price sheets to work off of and that the only reason he knows that changing a postal lock starts at $(more than double the starting price quoted) and not $is because he is in managementAdditionally, the phone call does not address my complaint, which is that if Amerikey had waited to receive my credit card authorization before sending a technician as they had said they would this entire issue could have been avoided as I would have had an opportunity to refute the cost / refuse the work once I received a complete quote for what the total cost of the job would be. Furthermore, the Amerikey representative who I spoke with on this phone call was the one who asked something to the affect of, "was the work done perfectly? Is everything working perfectly?" To imply that I specifically said the work was done perfectly is highly misleadingI believe I acknowledged that the work was done and that my tenant had not said he had any further issues, but I most certainly did not state, "the work was perfectly done"

Customer called in a service and was told that the price for the service, as for any service involving lock changes or the sort, is a $travel charge and the price for the locks start at $and go up plus the labor of the jobTypically, labor on any lock change is $at any locksmith company
Customer claims that she thought the entire service would have cost $in total, when she called in to complainHow could that be if the person on the phone told her the minimum it can cost for any service is $($travel + $minfor a lock)? In addition, if her tenant wasn't supposed to pay then the tenant should have refused and told us to collect payment from their landlordThe technician's job is to do the work and collect payment from whoever is willing to pay them. We do not see a reason to refund this customer because the service that was asked for was completed and the customer confirmed that the workmanship of the locksmith was perfect and everything is working perfectlyOtherwise, we would be happy to refund the customer. Best,Amerikey Management

This is a bait and switch operation
I called and asked for a quote to replace a *** on a Medeco lock they had installed years agoIt's a different operation now, a dispatcher answers the call and tells people they need to pay $to get a quote and then the *** starts at $The locksmith shows up and gives you a quote for $and if you refuse you owe him $
I never would have had him come if I had any idea it was so far above $
They need their dispatchers to have accurate starting prices for different lock typesGiving such a lowball quote to get the guy to you is not good business practice

We record all our calls as specified when you call on the online system and we can prove that our representative Efrin did not (curse you out) because we don't do business this way. When the technician was on site and trying to get hold of the customer she did not answer the phone and additionally we were informed she called additional companies our technician tried calling you for minutes when no one was answering their phone and the customer was aware that it took the technician minutes to drive to her houseThe customer was charged a cancellation fee because she took time from our very busy technician to come out and help her and then when he is there she refused the service

First of all let me tell you this, I do not like to waste my time with reviewsHOWEVER, this experience was so very good and also I was asked by the very sweet customer service rep to leave a review of my experience -good or badAnd she was a doll, though I forgot her name so I feel twice as obligated
So to the nice rep -thank you for staying calm while I was freaking outThat was huge for meAs for the guy fixing my sad situation
So I don't want to go into details about how I left my poor phone in the car and went to get it only to find out I can not find my car keys anywhere!!! I flipped out realizing they are IN THE CAR and now I have no way to call a serviceLuckily a lovely girl lady walked by me and noticed my anxiety level and offered her phone, which was a godsendAnywho literally minutes from when I called them the guy showed up! how nuts is that??! never in my life did I had to use a service of this kind so I had no idea what to expect
Amazing!! bing bang boom done!
This guy was super nice and kinda cute, but the most important thing -he got my car unlocked and my phone out! surprisingly minimal force was neededpretty much noneI was expecting my car to ripped in half lolNo marks on my practically new WB bug and this was so fast on top of everything elseguy was such a proConsidering all of the above, the price was so worth my peace of mind and being able to go about my dayI hope to god(!!) I won't need these services again but if I do they gave me a return customer discount so that's always appreciated
Wellyes, I think this was the 'gist' hahahaadef recommend them

Unfortunately, We cannot issue a refund for the reasons mentioned in this complaint. There aren't any legitimate reasons, as far as we are concerned, to issue a refund. If Revdex.com feels differently, please provide us with a reason and we will be happy to entertain it. Until that point, what I can offer the customer is a 15% returning customer discount on any future services. Please feel free to contact us if you should need a locksmith again. We would be happy to help you and provide you with a 15%for all and any future service. Best, Amerikey Management

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

No driver came to my location. This is one of the reasons I called multiple times. When I was told driver was close I waited outside. In addition when I called three times I was calm until speaking with the rep Efrin who cursed me out and hung up. Still received no manager contact. This company is a ripoff and a lie. They went to wrong location and charged us still.

This customer called because she was locked out of her car, and she told us that her boyfriend was going to pay for it. We sent her boyfriend the credit card authorization form and gave him a price of $95 for the lockout service plus a $15 service fee for a total $110, which he agreed to. When my...

technician was only four minutes from the location, the gentleman called back and told us that he didn’t realize this before, but the customer had already called another technician right after calling us. The boyfriend called us again telling us that his girlfriend has another tech on the way we told him to tell her to cancel the other tech because our tech is driving for 45 minutes to get to her. Unfortunately, the boyfriend never sent the message over, and the tech was on site and the customer was not picking up her phone. we told her that we will have to charge her $100 cancellation fee for the technician’s time and expense for driving out there. Derrick agreed to it and asked us to refund the additional $10 we charged for the service. We did refund him the $10 on the same day. Customer called in angry because she was charged $100 and she claims tech never got to site/ we explained that tech was on site for 30 minutes and looking for her and calling her and she was not answering the phone, and that the $100 was being kept as a cancellation fee. So both the person paying and the person receiving the service we informed of this fee and they were both well aware that they made our technician drive for 45 minutes only to have him spend another 30 minutes attempting to locate the customer and contact her with no success. And then had to drive all the way back for another 45 minutes.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Amerikey failed to thoroughly read and respond to the complaint issued. Instead the business has falsely accused me of wanting a refund because the cost was more then originally quoted. However in my written complaint submitted to them via the Revdex.com it plainly states that this is not the case. Additionally, they did not address why a technician was sent to complete repairs when my payment information had not been received. I was told not only by the dispatcher in written communications as well as over the phone that payment information would be necessary before the technician could be dispatched. The technician making the repairs also reiterated this policy to me via text. Amerikey has failed to acknowledge that this failure to abide by their own business practices was the cause of the issue at hand. As a result my tenant was billed for work after it had already been completed, under the assumption that I had received the final quote / total cost of the job and ok'ed it. However, neither of us (my tenant or myself) was given a chance to refute the cost and dismiss the worker as he had completed the job before disclosing the total cost / asked for payment. Additionally, Amerikey falsely claimed that I said the work was "perfectly done". This is an obvious fabrication as I am in another state and have not seen any of the work that was done.

We had the same experience as the reviewer wrote about on 8/**/2015. DEFINITELY A BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATION WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. I called, was offered the $15 fee for coming to the house and told that the price would be $35+, depending on the locksmith's assessment of the complexity of the locks. The locksmith came 90 minutes late (even though the website advertises timely service), glanced at the lock (a standard residential deadbolt and door [redacted]), and said it would be $210 (it was a Tuesday afternoon in the summer so not a peak time). We recounted what the dispatcher had told us on the phone and the locksmith told us that he was told to charge us $210 before he even got to the house. So we were lied to (told that the price was based on assessment of lock complexity when the lock smith said that it was a predetermined amount) but of course, had to pay because we needed to get into the house. After the incident, we attempted to contact Amerikey and were HUNG UP ON (mid conversation at times) FOUR TIMES. The company would not provide any information including manager's information, dispatcher's location, etc. to even support that this was a legit company. Finally, we were able to find contact information for the local contractor (with a different company) that actually came to our house. They were able to give us a partial refund and some piece of mind but really had no real reason for Amerikey's actions - just that they were probably "busy". Being busy is no excuse for treating your customers like trash. This is a horrible company, and I will be sure to pass this a long to others in need of service. Make sure you research your locksmiths before calling one and definitely do NOT call Amerikey if you want any resemblance of descent service.

Due to our expansion, we have hired some new people which are still in training. This is not an excuse but a reality which we are dealing with. It is my ultimate goal to provide all Amerikey customers with great service, fast response times and address all their requests. I have contacted the...

customer immediately after I read his letter to the Revdex.com, I will personally see to it that [redacted] receives the attention he deserves. I am embarrassed with my companies poor customer service performance pertaining to this matter, and will implement a better strategy to prevent this from happening again.

Review: Needed a duplicate key made for my 2007 BMW Car.

Spoke once to a dispatcher by the name of Brian who was very kind and ensured that this could be done without issue. The base price was 185 for the key and 15 service. I was told that it would be more because they had to contact BMW for the key to be made - No Problem. Told the company I would be in contact to set up.

After phone calls from their number [redacted] daily - 4 times a day of them requesting to fix my issue. I finally scheduled for a Sunday. The 'technician' came, plugged his computer into my car, used my key, fumbled around in it. After about 5 minutes. He stated that he cannot make a duplicate key. He handed me my original key to my car, I attempted to use the key to open and close the doors - just to make sure it still worked - it did not. I told him, he said to disconnect and reconnect the battery. I did so, still not working. He then used his cell phone, called someone and then told me that my cars computer is locked and that I would have to have my car towed to the dealership that there is nothing that he can do. - WHAT?! He was getting ready to leave and I called the company directly, explained the situation - they asked to speak to the technician. They had a conversation. The locksmith supposively had to go because he could not do anything else. The company respresentative said they will do some research - speak to the supervisors and will follow up with me soon. No response. I called back and they said that there is nothing they can do. 'As soon as we find out information, we will be in touch' - the technician/locksmith stated his name was Tony - the 'locksmith' van that he drove - the lisence plate is [redacted] -New York . The locksmith said what I should do is explain the situation to the company and reimburse my expense because it was not my fault. Calling the company again and again, the company representative stated - "it is not anyones fault - these things happen" Actually it was your fault. My car worked with my key fine until YOUR locksmith came and messed with someone and rendered my key useless. My key is now no longer recognized by the key. The only thing that I can do is open the driver door through the metal lock. There is NOTHING else I can do. The car is now sitting in my driveway. I am a medical professional who has to use my car 7 days a week because I work in Montefiore Medical Center. - I explained this to the representative of the company stating that they do not understand the importance of me getting my car on the road. The representative mocked me saying 'maybe YOU dont UNDERSTAND - but we cannot help you"- continuing to say 'we dont have any tow trucks and are not a dealership'- Im not sure of the name of this representative but I believe his name is James. It has been a day and still have no update on whatever they are 'reviewing'.Desired Settlement: I would like them to come and fix the issue that they caused - as my car is not able to work to transport me to Montefiore Medical Center to work. I had to take a cab to and from. Also if they cannot fix the issue - they need to be responsible for the towing and repair cost that THEY caused. AGAIN - MY CAR AND MY ONE KEY WORKED THE CAR PERFECTLY until the LOCKSMITH/TECHNICIAN CAME.

Review: Wanted two locks (cylinders only) changed on doors to a business. Apparently did not change cylinder because old keys worked the lock. We did not know this until the next morning.

Have had no success with Amerikey. Will not refund my credit card.

I believe this is a scam operation, of which I was scammed and I am sure it has been done before.Desired Settlement: would like a refund of $591.40 which was taken from my card.

Review: I called locksmith on 09/**/2014 to change a lock on my apartment door. The person on the phone informed me the price will be $15 for service and thereafter will be $35 per hour. A worker name [redacted] came and he saw the lock in my apartment he said it is a special lock and it will cost me $350 to change the lock. I said I didn't know it would be so expensive and I did not have the money to pay him either cash or credit card. He offer me to pay him half of the money that day and the other half the next day and he did the service on the door. When he finish, I felt uncomfortable to make him come back the next day so I had to go in the bank with him to give him all the amount of $350 by withdrawing my last savings. The next day I called the super of my building to tell him about my lock and to see the lock in my door and he said this is a regular lock that does not cost $350 to be fixed. I called the company locksmith for a price adjustment but they did not want to return any money back. The time the worker has spent to install the lock was 40 minutes. The invoice wrote: 1. service call $ 16. Jimmy Proof U53 and cylinder and 2 keys $179. 3.Install $155 _______Total: $350 + taxes= $379.I paid $350 due to I paid it in cash.Desired Settlement: The Jimmy Proof lock and cylinder with 2 keys costs $49.98. The difference from the price that I was charged of $179 is $129. I would like a refund of $129 dollars.
