When I took businesses classes in college, we were taught that no matter how you treat customers 3% percent will not be happy, I strongly feel this customer is one of the three percent The customer also states that there are reviews of the same complaint which is false, this is the first time this happened It happened, we are sorry, our manager [redacted] talked with the guy over the phone the entire day and [redacted] who makes everybody happy was unable to make the guy happy We feel we are unable to make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time If we are doing anything illegal, report us and shut us down, we have taken steps to insure this will never happen again, the girl that did the charge is no longer charging anybodyAt this time we do not want to deal with this customer again and would like a recommendation from the Revdex.com as to what the recommendation would be to close this complaint

We have already provided our responseGoing back and forth with an individual who disrespects our property, violates our terms and conditions, and fails to pay balances owed is not an individual that we will do business withThey are more than welcome to find service elsewhere. Our office keeps detailed records of the status of all cars rented out and checked back inThis individual had smoked in the car, left physical evidence of smoking, along with the smell of smoke lingering in the interior of the carWe can support all our statements and position with evidence In closing, this individual is simply unhappy because we refused to rent them another car unless they satisfied their outstanding obligationsThey attempted to retaliate against us by defaming us and now we are pursuing legal action

When we rent a car to a customer, we expect the customer to reasonably care about the rental vehicle by securing the key; however, Mr [redacted] left the car key out at laundry mat and exposed the key and our vehicle to vulnerability of being stolen, and as expected, the vehicle was stolen by random stranger, and now, Mr [redacted] demands us his deposit backIn fact, we had to utilize our personnel to work after our business hours to go retrieve the vehicle from the location where SDPD found the vehicle, and the individual who stole the vehicle had no insurance, no money, and no recourseShouldn't the renter (Mr [redacted] ) take responsibility for his own action? When an event like this happens, the customer's deposit is put on hold until we obtain the evidence of facts (by requesting the copy of police report) and figure out what really happened, and that is also another reason why we require, "security deposit" for any accidental like thisAdditionally, it is not true that our employees told that Mr [redacted] couldn't speak to our management but was advised to wait patiently until our management finishes the investigation and follows up with himThere were San Diego Police officer and detective who were involved in this case, and we have been attempting in every way to obtain the copy of police report from police department to settle this case, but it has been very challenging to locate even the detective who is in charge of this case and who can approve the release of reportWe are still working on that to settle this case.On date of March 13, at around pm, our management spoke to Mr [redacted] on the phone and advised him to cooperate with us to obtain the copy of police report if he would like us to speed up the proceduresAnd then, Mr [redacted] understood the situation and willfully said he will also try to obtain the copy of police report as well so we can move forward the case in speedy and prompt mannerIf Revdex.com feels that we did something wrong, we would like to know which part of areas we did or doing wrong, so we can correct the matter accordinglyThank you for your help in advance

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have reviewed what was sentAll of what they state is a outright lie or a misconception! They threatened me to pick up the car without alignment repaired, after they invoiced and were paid for itAfter threat of police I took the loaner car back to pick up my car and complete repairs elsewhereAfter harassing me to pick up my car, they locked me and my son behind gates because they say they don't have the insurance check yetThey shouldn't have harassed me to return if they weren't going to release my carI have suffered a great deal of damage due to their unprofessional behaviorFinally when my car was ultimately transferred to the Acura dealer to complete repair, they did the work very quickly and didn't hold me hostage til they received paymentApparently as I was told by the Acura repair shop, how it works with accident repair is they do the work and invoice for paymentThat payment sometimes shows up much later but they are legally bound to paySo they don't have to hold anyone hostageThat's the way it's always done*** only decided to treat me this way because I wouldn't allow them to bully me.

[ details of why you are not satisfied with this resolutionPlease respond in this space ONLY]
I'm updating my review now after receiving a reply from *** D, who must be a manager or the ownerA couple of things really bothered me about this responseFirst of all, ***, you're saying that because a car thief, not a random civilian, who was obviously watching for an opportunity, stole not only the key to the rental car, but the keys to my apartment, my motorcycle, storage unit, and a number of other important keys, was only able to do so because I didn't "reasonably care about the car"? What does that even mean? You're making it sound like I handed the keys over to the personHow do you even know what the details are if you haven't read the police report? Secondly, you said that the person that stole the car had no insurance, money, or recourse?? The car thief didn't have insurance? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? He stole your car! Is his insurance supposed to cover a car that he stole?? And I understand what a security deposit is for, I understand what insurance is forInsurance covers stolen vehiclesThat is partly why we have itA security deposit has nothing to do with the fact that the car was STOLENThird, you said that it was not true that your staff said I couldn't talk to a manager*** that is exactly what happenedThey did not tell me to wait patientlyThe gentlemen told me to go call sdpd, and the woman told me there was nothing they could do for me, and that if I wasn't on the managers calendar he was too busy to speak with meWhat you said in your reply was untrueIt's interesting that you can reply to me basically calling me a liar when you weren't even thereOn March 13th, the only reason management spoke to me is because I calledSung told me he needs the police report, and that he was waiting for sdpd to send it to himThat tells me there has been little to no effort to obtain the police reportOn Sunday March 4th, I called to give the staff at Renty the case number which is what the detective told me to doThe case number would easily get you the report if you just called the police department and gave it to them. Lastly, I when I talked to Sung on March 13th I asked him if the car was damaged at all when they retrieved the carHe said there was no damage, but the car wasn't clean***, you said that there are damages due to my negligenceThe only negligence that occurred is the way this is being handled by your company. I would like my security deposit back, as there is no damage to the car as stated by your general manager, and I would like $back because I rented the car for a month for $and I only had the car for days. There were days in my contract equaling $a day, times the days I had it makes $I rightfully paid for, and $that I paid that should be refunded, plus my $depositI will take this to small claims court otherwise and I will winThe response you left, to sum it up, said that somehow it's my fault that a thief stole my keys and then your car, and that the person that stole your car didn't have insurance, and that your staff told me something that they didn't, and that you're holding my deposit because of damagesNothing in your response was correct or relevant, and it makes you and your company look shady and immoral

[First of all, I was NOT rude whatsoever to their employee, nor did I raise my voice to her, or put pressure on herIt os clear she was NOT properly trained to do a basic credit card transactionClearly an issue that starts at the Management LevelIn fact, there was a Manager on duty that morning, however he never made an attempt to assist her, nor did she request his assistance, nor did the other employee provide any assistance to her. Second, there was NO offer of a "no cost" future rentalAnd, quite frankly I would NEVER take my business back to this companyThere are NUMEROUS bad reviews of this company in regards to very similar issues so there is a history of this company having issuesI never received such a offerSecond, I am NOT a "plus" person trying to impress my girlfriendSean should be careful of his words as they could be interpreted as "DAFAMATION OF CHARACTER"I take great exception to this INSULTIf Sean had his facts straight, he would clearly see my birthdate on the copy of my DL they have, and would see I just turned And, I was NOT trying to impress "my girlfriend"Again, if they knew their facts, they would have known, that was my wife with me as it was her credit card that they over charged, NOT once, but twice, the first time was when we rented the first time. Third, the company's response clearly shows their childish, unprofessional, unethical business behavior.Thank you

I quite obviously reject the responseThis matter is in no way settled and I would like my complaint with the Revdex.com to stay active. They have offered no resolution other than I pay them the money they are wrongly trying to charge meThis is not much of a solution to me. As well, on top of bad business practice with a customer, they are now trying to infringe on my First Amendament right of free speechUnacceptable.

[As I stated in my original complaint, the resolution is to refund my rental feeSecond, you can apologize for your rude and disrespectful comments you made about me and my wife in your last responseI guess that was something you were taught in your college business classes (make disrespectful comments about your paying customers)? It would also be nice if you'd identify yourself as to what your position is with the company? Third, this issue occurred twice with two different employees within a couple months of each other so there is a track historyFourth, Yes there are other negative reviews about your company with different and similar issues.Refund my rental fees, is all I ask (and STOP with the disrespectful comments about your paying customersThank you!]

Renty LLC did finally reverse the deposit charges, however they have yet to make good on refunding my rental charges as I requested

Customer has removed their vehicle. The email attachments explain the full history of what happened. In brief, customer brought car to our facility to have it repaired (body shop work). Customer rented a car from us while we preformed repairs. We performed the repairs and notified customer her...

vehicle was ready for pick up. Customer did not come in to pick up vehicle (waited a month). Customer finally came in and wanted to take her car from our facility without paying for either the repair work or the rental. We told customer we have not received payment and customer could not remove the vehicle from our lot without paying. Customer attempted to steal the vehicle from our lot and we closed our gate. We explained to customer she could not take vehicle without making payment. She was free to leave if she didn't want to pay, but must leave the vehicle. As it stands now, customer has had the car removed from our lot. Insurance company has paid the fees for the repair and rental.

The customer is correct, we have over charged the customer, there was a new girl ([redacted] that did the charge and made a mistake.  I viewed the video myself on this transaction and the customer was not the nicest person in the world, [redacted] was very nervous during the interaction.  We...

reversed the charge and it took several days for the customers own bank to release the money.  [redacted], one of the managers spoke to the customer almost all day.  We feel really bad about this because [redacted] is such a nice girl and felt so bad that she quit because of all of this.  We also offered the customer another rental at no charge but the 65 plus year old customer wants to show his girlfriend that he is really powerful (you know the type).  Anyhow, we are willing to do whatever is recommended to close out this complaint.[redacted] 619-757-9565

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a company. Not only do they wrongly accuse me of something, then they refuse me service because of it, and now they are threatening to sue me because I rightfully wrote negative reviews about them. This is the behavior of children. It astounds me that a company can function with such an obvious lack of appropriate leadership and management.
First, I do not accept this resolution because the company has offered no resolution. They simply informed the Revdex.com and myself that they are going to wrongly attempt to sue me. Second, I violated no smoking policy. Their persistent on arguing that fact is becoming very frustrating. They also claim to have "picture evidence of smoking". I am not sure how you could even take picture evidence of this. Also, we informed them upon receiving the rental that we found cigarette butts and ash in the car. I can only imagine that is the "picture evidence" they speak of and it is possible that we missed some when cleaning the car. However, that evidence of smoking was never ours. I am convince that there is specific motivation behind the company being so persistent about the accusations. The car we supposedly smoked in was given to us as a free month rental. The rental we had previously had the alternator go out so Renty took it to the shop to fix it. Upon fixing it they then re-rented it to another customer. Even though we still had a valid contract on that car. So to make up for this enormous mistake they gave us a one month free rental in a nicer car because it is all they had. I am convinced they were upset about this lost revenue on the nicer car and were trying to make up for it by charging us this smoking fee. That is simply and unacceptable business practice that they should be ashamed of. As well, the fact that they have made numerous errors and are threatening to sue over bad reviews and "defamation" is ridiculous. In my reviews on Yelp and Google I mention nothing of the smoking incident and simply state facts about my terrible experiences with this company  That is in no way defamation. So, on top of my previous request to have the smoking fee waived, I also want any legal action dropped.

Dear Ms. [redacted]:This is a response to the above-referenced complaint (ID [redacted]). To make a long story short, this customer's wife had previously rented a car. They smoked in the car which was against our terms and conditions and our written agreement with them. Additionally, our agreement stated...

if someone ever smoked in the car, the would be responsible for a $350.00 charge to clean the car. They smoked in the car. They refused to pay the smoke cleaning fee. About a year later, they attempted to rent another car. We told them they could rent another car if they settled their outstanding obligations. They refused. Instead, they left defamatory comments for us. We have documented all the pictures of the smoking in the car. There is no question and mistake that they violated the agreement and refused to make payment. We were within our contractual rights to ask not only for the smoke fee, but to refuse to rent out another car that would be mistreated. Please see the attached letter our attorney sent them. We trust that this will conclude this matter. However, if you need additional information, please contact us. Thank you.SeanRenty LLC8025 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Ste. 20San Diego, CA 92111

We have already provided our response. Going back and forth with an individual who disrespects our property, violates our terms and conditions, and fails to pay balances owed is not an individual that we will do business with. They are more than welcome to find service elsewhere. Our office keeps detailed records of the status of all cars rented out and checked back in. This individual had smoked in the car, left physical evidence of smoking, along with the smell of smoke lingering in the interior of the car. We can support all our statements and position with evidence.   In closing, this individual is simply unhappy because we refused to rent them another car unless they satisfied their outstanding obligations. They attempted to retaliate against us by defaming us and now we are pursuing legal action.
