Ms [redacted] Screens were installed in March. Ms [redacted] called us to let us know that the screens look beautiful, but there was no screen on the front. The front screen was not on her order so then we measured the front window and made a screen and installed it. We were unaware of any issue on her screen door until may 4th. as you can tell it is very hot in Arizona, and we take care of our customers when schedule permits.  According to our screen department she will be taken care of until today.

Let me start by saying that this is my personal opinion - but I would never use or recommend Amerizona to anyone due to their lackluster service. My intent here is only to post facts of the events I had to go through with my Amerizona shutter purchase. Hopefully this will help you when selecting your shutter vendor.
We wanted to purchase shutters on three windows in the home to make all the windows in the home match (there were just horizontal blinds on those three windows). We contacted Amerizona and they sent out a sales representative. This lackluster service began with the sales representative they sent to our home. We made it very clear that we wanted the remaining windows to match the white bi-fold shutters we had on all our other windows. We also indicated we wanted the hinges to match the other windows, because they were a non-traditional steel-type, not painted (not white).
The sales consultant, [redacted], indicated she understood, gave us a quote and we signed for the shutters. The invoice listed the shutters using Amerizona codes and we confirmed with the consultant that the shutters were what we discussed. Now I take responsibility for the fact that I did not understand the codes Amerizona utilized on the invoice and yet still signed. However, the sales consultant walked through with us the information, which included bi-folds for the large windows.
When the shutters were delivered and were partially installed I noticed that the hinges were in fact painted white and not the steel-type we had requested. I immediately told the installer the problem and showed him my copy of the invoice. Now it is important to point out here that the builder of the shutters and installer are apparently two different organizations. The installer contracts with Amerizona or visa versa. No one could ever fully detail this arrangement with me in any of the conversations I had with Amerizona. Since I have no knowledge of the name of the installer I will not list it here. The installer’s paperwork showed “white hinges” and he at first indicated that he did not know how to read the codes used by Amerizona on their invoice. He contacted his manager and they said they would finish the install and come back with the correct hinges, once they verified that I was correct and in fact ordered the steel-type hinges.
As the install continued and the third shutter went up I noticed it was not a bi-fold shutter. It did not match any of the other shutters in our home. Again I spoke with the installer, but this time he pointed out on my invoice that this particular shutter was not listed as a bi-fold shutter. Miraculously he could now read the codes on the Amerizona invoice! He called his manager again and this time was instructed to stop work on the install. He came to me and said that this third shutter he had only partially installed. He had set it up so it wouldn’t fall down, but that it was not fully installed. He recommended we didn’t open the shutters, because he had finished and had not sealed it. He indicated that I would need to call Amerizona and discuss the next steps with them. He then asked me for the remaining balance on the account. I refused to provide any additional funds until the work was completed as was contracted. He called his manager and she asked me for the payment again, which I refused. She then asked for half of the funds as the shutters where in place. Which in reply I explained that the installer and not even completed the install, as one shutter was not done. She then acquiesced and indicated that they would not ask again for payment until the shutters were fully installed.
I then called the sales consultant, [redacted], who sold us the shutters. She said she had made a mistake on the invoice and that her manager would call me the next day. She has never checked up to see if the situation had been resolved to our satisfaction.
Three days later I had to call Amerizona to get a progress report, and was told they would fix the hinges (because that was their mistake) but that since the invoice did not indicate a bi-fold shutter we would need to pay almost $400 extra (manufacturing cost) to change the shutter. They did admit that in transcribing the information to the contractor that the sales consultant had indicated steel on the invoice and they inadvertently wrote white for the hinges. The hinges were their mistake.
I was unwilling to pay for the additional fee, but was willing to keep the shutter that was partially installed. This part was a 50/50 mistake. I explained though that they still needed to complete the install of the shutter and seal it. The payment that would be made did in fact cover the shutter they had provided. They agreed and indicated I would receive a call from the contractor to schedule a time to replace the hinges and complete the install of the last shutter.
I received a call a few days later indicating that they would install the hinges on a Saturday between 4-6pm. Saturday comes and over two hours before the window is set to begin I receive a call from an installer that he is at my house and he is asking me why I am not there. I told him the window I was given and he indicated there was no window on his paperwork. I asked him to verify the time window with his manager and then to have his manager call me immediately after their discussion. I received no call from the manager. I then tried calling Amerizona and the installer back at the start of the window and received voice mails from both numbers. Tried again after 4:30 and was told by the installer that he would be here hopefully by 6pm, but that he couldn’t guarantee it. Even though this was Amerizona’s selected window of time and I was already accommodating them. The installer arrived five minutes after the window closed at 6pm. His first words to me when I opened the door were may I use your sink. No hello or even sorry for arriving after the window his company asked for me to accept. Now again this employee may work for a contractor that Amerizona uses, but it is still Amerizona that I contracted with for the shutters and the service.
They began to remove the hinges and replace them. The installer indicated he had finished the “non bi-fold” shutter. However when I went and looked at it he only sealed the bottom, left and right sides – not the top. So I waited for them to finish the hinges on the other shutters. I wanted at this point to make sure I would get my hinges I was paying for from Amerizona.
That was when the installer’s drill battery died. He had no backup and not even a Philips screwdriver to finish the work. I had to provide the installer with my own drill set and a screwdriver for his assistant - so that they could finish the shutter work.
As they were working on the other correct bi-fold doors they were only replacing the outside hinges and not the “bi-fold” (middle) hinges. They were just going to leave the bi-fold hinges because, “unless they are open you can’t see them.” I showed him how the other shutters in the house had steel hinges, but he said he didn’t have any on him. After that I again waited to see if he would seal the top of shutter. When indicated he was done, I brought up the top of the shutter. He then told his assistant lets get out of here. They left without saying a word; and then came back because he forgot to have me sign some paperwork. He had no pen. I took it in the house to fill it out and then he opened my front door and came back in because I was taking too long to fill it out.
So after originally contracting with Amerizona on February 8th and being told it would take no more than four weeks, as is listed on my invoice, now over seven weeks later we received the hinges and paid the original contracted fee, but to what end? My personal opinion is to avoid this supplier’s services and save your self a lot of time and frustration. Throughout the events that have occurred and up to the time I am writing this we have never received any apologies for the inconveniences we have dealt with during this engagement with Amerizona.
This is not the way to conduct business and I stress that I would not recommend this group of companies to anyone seeking to have an easy and professional service experience. To ensure any customers thinking of utilizing Amerizona have this knowledge prior to their making a decision of shutter service vendors I am posting this to this site.
