To whom it may concern, Amherst Thunder travel softball is a non-profit, all volunteer travel organization. In order to play softball for Amherst Thunder a parent or legal guardian must sign a written contract, code of conduct form, and medical waiver formThe contract has been
attached here as evidence, which states: “Please note all payments made to Amherst Thunder are non-refundableIf any player leaves the organization during the season for any reason, no money will be refunded.” The sole purpose for having this statement is to discourage parents from committing to our travel organization by making a deposit and then leaving for another travel organizationPlayer(s) that resign from the team after rosters have been finalized put extra burden on the families because their costs may have to be raised or additional fundraising may have to happen in order to meet budgeted expenses of the teamAdditionally, if the roster spots aren’t back filled it may result in forfeiting gamesThe coaches and I spent countless hours over a couple months to find additional players to commit to the team and they were offered a discounted rate because they had missed many months of practice with the team and fundraising opportunities to help lower their costsIt is the decision of the Amherst Thunder organization to respectfully decline to issue any refund for the payments made because the customer is in violation of the signed contractsSincerely, Shawn BAmherst Thunder Coordinator
