AMHosting Reviews (1)

I used AMHosting from August 2009 to August 2013 as my website host. They charged me $59.95 per year. I made payments on the following dates:8-12-09 $59.95 via [redacted]8-10-10 $59.95 via [redacted]8-2-11 $59.95 via [redacted]8-4-12 $59.95 via [redacted]This summer I decided to switch to another website host because the quality of AMHosting's service had declined. They were continually failing to provide me with website traffic statistics, which I needed to know the efficacy of my promotional campaigns. I contacted them on August 5, 2013 to end the service. After exchanging several emails, they notified me that the service had been canceled. They also sent me the following bizarre email on August 6:Dear Customer,Upon further review of the information you provided, it does not appear as though you have any services with us. It is possible that you purchased the services through one of our customers. If that is the case you would need to contact the reseller customer for assistance with cancelling the account.Thank you,[redacted]I attributed this email to incompetency, and did not reply.Yesterday, October 25, 2013, I received a bill from them for $59,350.50! This was for service "provided" from 1969 (before the internet was even invented and before their company, which was founded in 1997, existed) to the present time. I contacted them by email and phone, and they promised to take care of the error. I also made sure they understood that I was no longer their customer, and should not be receiving any further bills from them. Again, they promised to verify that.Today, October 26, 2013, I received another bill from them, this time for $59.95 for the current 2013-2014 billing cycle, and a warning that my service was going to be cut off for nonpayment. I am very upset that this company is continuing to contact and bill me when I am not their customer. This has gone from incompetency to harassment.Product_Or_Service: website hosting providerDesired SettlementI would like you to contact AMHosting and advise them to cease and desist this fraudulent billing at once. Please take any other action you feel is advised.Business Response We are unable to assist the customer from this complaint because there is no information provided that can be used to locate the account.Customer can get assistance at any time by calling [redacted].Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Really? No account? Then why did I get the following bill for $59.95:Invoice: [redacted]Date: Oct 26th, 2013Status: DueOr the bill for $59,350.50:Invoice: [redacted]Date: Oct 25th, 2013Status: DueI received these two bills AFTER I canceled my account last August 2013. Supposedly you have canceled it again, but I want a guarantee this time.Final Business Response The account is cancelled. I guarantee it.
