As it is clearly stated, prices for car lockouts start at $45.

The plaintiff was incorrect in a) stating the starting price of $35 and b) assuming that the price is a flat rate.

Also, the plaintiff was told of the cost of unlocking her vehicle before work was done.  She could have rejected the offer, but instead agreed to the price and allowed me to perform my work.

I believe that this is an unfair complaint, and I would like my business to be cleared of any fault.

AMI Locksmith should be OUT OF BUSINESS!
We hired AMI locksmiths to CHANGE 6 locks in our residence (3 doors). They quoted $50 per lock but the final bill ended up over $400. While they were working, we found out they just RE-KEYED the locks, so I called several other locksmiths and learned the re-key price was $35 or less, per lock. Shortly after the AMI locksmiths left we noticed we had 2 more locks to re-key (one door) so I called them and asked if they could do that as a courtesy because they already charged us HIGHER than the standard rate of all the other locksmiths.
I think I spoke to a person by the name A[redacted]. He was very rude and said IF WE FOUND ANOTHER LOCKSMITH TO CONFIRM the re-key price of $35 per lock, he'd honor that price. I then called P[redacted] Locksmith, [redacted] on a conference call with A[redacted] and the other locksmith confirmed the re-key rate was $35 plus a $15 service call fee, no extra fees. A[redacted] started shouting on the phone "we quoted $50 per lock and you accepted it", and would not listen to any of my explanation that they quoted CHANGE the locks but actually RE-KEYED them.
I told him this was not a good way to do business, the other locksmith would have charged us $295 for ALL 8 locks to re-key (8 x $35 = $280 + $15 = $295) while AMI charged us over $400 for the 6 locks. We ended up using P[redacted] L[redacted]th for the last door, who were great, but a bunch of other local locksmiths (e.g M[redacted] L[redacted] in V[redacted], VA) quoted the lower re-key price as well.
AMI Locksmith Services is a TOTAL RIP OFF and their customer service is abysmal! The new keys they gave us were strange - some were new, some very old. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCKSMITH!

DO NOT GET CHEATED BY THIS GREEDY GUY. AFTER I WAS CHEATED, I DID ANALYSIS AND WANTED TO REVEAL SOMETHING TO THE PEOPLE TO SAVE THEM FROM BEING DECEIVED BY THIS AMI LOCKSMITH. HERE ARE MY ANALYSIS:
1. First of all there is nothing called Nationwide Service. The so called business is run by only one man (he never says his true name) in Virginia. He uses two numbers one toll free ((888) 792-7467) and one his own number (703) 956-0318. This is just to create the impression that someone from the office picks up the call and sends the technician to the field, but both are same person.
2. When you call this person, you will NOT understand the poor English he speaks (From what I understand is that he is from Ethiopia). He will talk in a very commanding tone and make you hurry and give you some false dollar figures. He would say opening the car is free and then key is $45. If you ask for additional key and remote, he will say everything would be around 165. Eventually, you will be paying more than what you discussed with him
3. The business trick that he is following that he has created a fancy website, created the impression that they have business all over the Virginia, created the impression that there are lot of technicians, which ideally is not the case; ONLY ONE PERSON. Also, I think in other website like homeadvisor, he has created what is called as false/pseudo reviews just to create an illusion that he is good by providing 5 stars by himself. DO NOT get fooled by those reviews.
4. I was sold an $8 dollar (sold in Amazon) remote for $50. I immediately found the remote and I called him that would want to come over and return. Thinking that all educated people are super fools, he says "You cannot return because it has been programmed" which is not the case. He says "I will give you 5 dollars and rest of the 45 dollars is for the labor of my programming. The truth is you can program the remote to any car and even it can be done by your first grade kid in your house. There are hell lot of youtube videos on remote programming.
5. If you do good homework of calling different local locksmiths instead of panicking and calling this AMI locksmith, you will find good, trusted, honest, decent locksmith in your area for reasonable cost. Trust me.
6. Following my review, I am sure he is going to definitely add some fake reviews to boost up his stars. Do not get fooled by them.
EVEN AFTER READING THE ABOVE, IF YOU ARE DECIDING TO CALL HIM, FOR SURE YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE YOUR MONEY.

Review: My daughter, accidentally locked the door behind her in a house she just moved into in [redacted]. She went to a neighbor and called me because her phone was in the house. I call AMI [redacted] because they were close by and advertised that they charge $15 for a call and are very reasonably priced. They opened the door for her and proceeded to charge $185.00 for the few minutes that it took. This was so much more than we ever imagined it would be cost because of what they say on their website. Very disappointed and wanted to let others know that their website advertising is VERY misleading.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the charge because they were very misleading in their advertising. I would also like them to make it clear on their website what their charges are - and that $15 is no where near what someone should expect to pay.

Dear Representative of Revdex.com:

AMI LOCKSMITH has read the complaint that was submitted to our company. We would like to respond to the complaint. On our advertisement theirs a list on the way we charge.

We have a service charge of $15.00 and depending on the lock that our customers have at home is the way we price. Our pricing on the home lockout starts from $55- up. So according to the lock that our customer [redacted] has we charged the service fee of $15.00 plus the lockout fee of $170.00. The service that was provided for her was under 15 minutes. With this letter we have attached our pricing that is on our website.

We want to settle this in a good matter. We would like for our customers to be content with us. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at ###-###-####.

Regards,

Review: I noticed their ad stated unlocking your vehicle for prices starting at $35. I called them, they showed up and it cost $145 and took less than two minutes to open my [redacted].

I haggled for the price and said this was ridiculous. I asked them what car cost $35 to open and their response was "none." I was told that the price was based on vehicle size and level of difficulty to open.

This seems like false advertising to me.

This occurred 3/31/14.Desired Settlement: Partial refund of say 60%

Dear [redacted],

Here is the link to my website’s pricing information:

As it is clearly stated, prices for car lockouts start at $45.

The plaintiff was incorrect in a) stating the starting price of $35 and b) assuming that the price is a flat rate.

Also, the plaintiff was told of the cost of unlocking her vehicle before work was done. She could have rejected the offer, but instead agreed to the price and allowed me to perform my work.

I believe that this is an unfair complaint, and I would like my business to be cleared of any fault.
