Dear Manager:On Friday, June 26, 2015, three men arrived to complete a scheduled move that I made over the telephone on June 9, with a man by the name of EricEric informed me that there would be two men for the price of $for the first three hours then $every hour thereafterI
asked him if he needed to come to my place to take an inventory but he told me it wasn’t necessary and asked me how many bedrooms I hadOnce I told him I had a two bedroom apartment he guaranteed me they could move me in three hoursI tried to give him a list of things I had but before I could finish he quickly stated that they could move me in three hours so I reserved my moving date with him for June 26thHowever, when the movers arrived that changed to $for the first three hours then $95,every hour thereafter, since they showed up with three guysNaturally, I was upset and felt that was a very dishonest move on your company’s partThe lead mover then claimed they couldn't move me in three hours and that it would take at least six hours to move me, which would double the already “unexpected” increase in feesI quickly declined and let him know that was unacceptableWe settled on them moving the large furniture/boxesMy family and I had no other choice but to move the rest in our cars (four trips later)This was a great inconvenience on an already stressful day but I had no choice because I did not have the extra money your movers were requesting. Please know that it was very hard to communicate with your movers because unfortunately their English was very bad but fortunately my real estate agent was there to translateShe made sure they moved the heavy items and when they were moving slow she asked them to speed up the process so we could make the hour deadline but I ended up paying an additional $because it took four hoursAlso, one of the guys (older man with a ponytail) was very unpleasant towards me when I tried to direct him on where to put my furnitureInstead of trying to understand what I was saying he would just walk away speaking to the other movers in Spanish, which I thought was very rudeHe struck up a conversation with my real estate agent in Spanish so I asked her to translate and she told me he was talking badly about meI let your lead mover know that was unacceptable and bad customer service and asked that they speak English so I could understand what was going on but he just smiled and walked away. Then, during the move your lead mover started talking to a stranger that was walking by as they were moving my items into the truckHe stopped to talk to the guy in the middle of my move so my real estate agent had to interrupt him (in Spanish) and ask that he give the guy his business card and cut the conversation short because we were on a tight schedule and he complied. Please also note that your movers broke one of my color TV’s in the process of the moveWhen the lead mover called me out to the truck to show me the TV he lead me to believe the TV only had a small hole in the back so I asked for a discount of $He then said that was too much and offered $I told him $was fare but he kept negotiating and I was exhausted so I settled for $I asked them beforehand why they weren't wrapping everything but they just said “no problem, we’ll be careful, it won't break”When I asked how the TV broke your lead mover told me the door of the truck must have come down on itSince they moved the TV from the truck to my bedroom I wasn't able to see just how bad it was damagedNot only was there a small whole in the back but there was a large hole in the side of the TVI found out when my Verizon technician came to install my cable three days laterHe tried to move the television and it cracked open and started falling apart (see attached photos). The other problem I had with your movers is that they did nothing to protect my carpet/floors and refused to reassemble my headboard/bedframeWhen I spoke with Eric on the phone he guaranteed me that the movers would wrap my furniture and protect my carpets but that did not take place so I was left with a filthy carpet in my new home after your movers finally finished and broken TVAs they were leaving I asked them to reassemble my headboard/ bedframe but they refused, stating they didn't disassemble itI told your lead mover that during my phone call with Eric I was told they would disassemble/reassemble the bed with no problemInstead, they put the headboard against one wall and the bedframe against another wallThe lead mover went back and forth with me claiming there were no screws and that they didn't disassemble itI couldn't believe what was happening because my cousin and I watched them disassemble the bed with our very own eyesAfter a while the movers re-entered my bedroom with the screws and reattached my headboard to the bedframeThe lead mover apologized, saying they were “tired”.I’m submitting this complaint in hopes of a full refund ($430,00) because this was by far the worst moving experience I’ve ever encounteredI submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com but unfortunately provided the incorrect date so if you receive a complaint from them for June 12, 2015, it should be for June 26, I will send them a copy of this letter so they can make that correction in their systemIf we can come to a mutual agreement I would be more than happy to have my complaint removed from the Revdex.com’s system.Respectfully submitted, GFay G***
