My Review:

This formal complaint is submitted on behalf of ten traveling customers (four of whom are children under 10 years of age) whom pre purchased airline tickets from Amigo Tickets by phone. This complaint is regarding (1) no confirmation email for the group reservations. (2) incorrect travel return dates.

Additional Details of Review:

On August 07, 2013 Ms. [redacted] (one of the travelers) placed a call to travel agent [redacted] of Amigo Tickets - "experts in international travel."

My wife [redacted], stayed up late the night when the tickets were purchased. The confirmation was supposed to be sent via email, but it never came, this first discrepancy didn't give us any time to review, confirm nor decline the itinerary.

Several attempts were made the next day to contact the agency for confirmation. After a few days, we received the hard copy itinerary - Our travel was supposed to be from February 6, 2014 to February 27, 2014, and [redacted], would travel from February 6, 2104 to February 19, 2014.

Instead, the itinerary was made for February 6, 2014 to March 5, 2014, a month long discrepancy that (1) was not discussed, (2) and that no one of this group could afford to take away from work and school, which would then cause additional costs for lodging, food, and rental car accommodations.

This additional discrepancy prompted us to check again for the group confirmation email but only a receipt for [redacted] was found with no further research information. When I ([redacted]) called Amigo Tickets to have the corrections made (starting with my group - 2 forms of payment were made), I was told by the agent the 24 hour cancellation time had lapsed and that we would have to pay the "going price" of about $650.00 per adult ticket ($120 for my infant) plus $400-$500 per person to make the actual corrections with the airlines. Roughly, for the six tickets I had already paid for, Amigo Tickets was ok with charging me an additional $6370.00, and the other family was being charged an additional $4600.00, I was told there was nothing else Amigo Tickets could do.

So are we stuck with tickets that are keeping us in a foreign country longer than we possible could afford - but more importantly - longer than was agreed? Also, we did not receive any confirmation so we were unable to review, confirm or deny e itinerary? AND now Amigo Tickets is telling me the only solution is to charge me triple (on top of) what I had initially paid. This is unacceptable!!

I updated my wife and she immediately called the airlines to make sure if the reservations were made. Oddly enough, the airline agent informed her that all the tickets had been voided, that no one was traveling those days. I then called our credit card company to find out that the card had been charged for the tickets.

My wife got a hold of the agency August 13, 2014 and asked to speak with the original agent, [redacted] to attempt to make the corrections. The agent who answered, mentioned the tickets had been voided so she instead referred my wife to speak with Supervisor [redacted] who said she would contact my wife back by 7pm because she needed to check some things.

At about 5:30 pm my wife got the call back from Ms. [redacted] who discussed that there had been an issue with the tickets being voided and she would have to talk to the airlines about that issue. My wife confirmed that American Airlines had said the same thing. Ms. [redacted] also assured my wife the tickets could be corrected to accommodate any changes we needed. Ms. [redacted] also acknowledged that the agency did not show evidence of having sent the entire confirmation email, so she added that no fees would be charged. She assured my wife not to worry, that every thing would get fixed and that any dates would be accommodated. Ms [redacted] concluded that either she or Ms. [redacted] would be contacting my wife by 7pm Wednesday August 14, 2013 with the corrected information.

At about 3pm August 14, 2013, Ms. [redacted] contacted my wife to inform her that the agency could only accommodate changes for three people to return to American Soil, on the 19th or 20th of February 2014 - (basically, accommodations were being made only for those who had to return to work: the two men and one woman) - essentially then, our wives and children would have to fend for themselves until the return date of March 5th 2014. Later on in that conversation, Ms. [redacted] said that she would leave notes for [redacted] who would be the deciding party to accommodate all ten passengers to Depart Guatemala on the same day, more than likely on February 19, 2014 since all other dates were booked.

What kind of business practice is this??!! Who in their right mind believes it's ok to bring back the men of the group (because they have to go to work) but would leave the women and children in a foreign country without any hotel accommodations, food, or any way to get around.

Today is the 15th of August my wife received and email from Ms. [redacted] (7:35am) who states that she didn't have Ms [redacted] call my wife back because she is attempting to get the dates for all of us to return together "but it wasn't a guarantee!!" Ms Zayra goes on to ask if she can call my wife back at 9am, my wife responded, it was ok.

As of the morning of August 16, 2014, we have not heard from anyone at Amigo Tickets.

I recently booked a flight with Amigo Travel on 10/13/12 and now at the airport 11/18/12 and airline shows tickets reserved and then canceled.
On 10/13/12 I booked a fligh with Amigo Travel and made a payment directly to their bank account using Wells Fargo. Received confirmation email of intenaries for two passengers for the amount of 1080.00. Today 11/18/12 I'm at the airport airline imforms me that my tickets were recerved and then canceled. Called Amigo Travel and they of course tell me that they proff of receipt. Meanwhile I will not be able to make it to a family members wedding and other very important events I was required to attend. The airport that I was suppose to fly from is an Hour and a half away and I have now spend gas and alot more money as a result of this. I want a full refund or a new trip paid at the full expense of Amigo Travel.
