We are responding to the concern of [redacted] and [redacted] which was brought to our attention by a letter from The Revdex.com (Revdex.com) dated May **, 2017. The complaint ID number is [redacted] and [redacted] reached out to us about a month after they moved into their new home...

regarding a leak. It was a surprising phone call to us because the house is a new construction that went through inspections by our team, NYC Department of Buildings and the purchasers before they agreed to purchase the house and there were no issues with the plumbing. Out of concern Bernard S[redacted] agreed to take time out of his busy schedule to try and help [redacted] and [redacted]. He did observe that there was a small leak. He reached out to the plumber to find out if he can assist [redacted] and [redacted]. Unfortunately, he was away and could not look at the leak. We then received a letter from Revdex.com stating that we are responsible. According to the complaint, there was a PVC pipe with a two inch cut that caused the leak. As mentioned before, before the house was sold, there were numerous inspections done on the property by various parties including the buyers and NYC Department of Buildings and there were no leaks. We were willing to assist in any way possible to help. Unfortunately our plumber was unavailable and the new home owners went in a different direction. We regret that the new homeowners had incurred a cost in fixing the plumbing issue in their home but at this moment we are able to comply with the customer’s request to repair their bathrooms and basement ceiling as well as reimbursing them for the cost of the plumbing bill they incurred. As the home owners stated, there was a two inch cut in the PVC pipe. If the cut was there when the house was being built, there would have been a leak from the time they moved into the property but there was no leak. For the one month they lived in the house before the leak started, we have no idea what went on in the house to cause the leak. It is unfortunate the leak happened. It is also unfair for the home owners to hold us responsible for leak that started one month after they moved in and claim that there was a cut in the PVC pipe when the house was being built. As a result, it is difficult for us to claim responsibility for something that we did not cause. We wish the leak never h appened but it did happened and it is unfortunate we couldn’t resolve this matter without getting the Revdex.com involved. At this time we are denying the desired settlement proposed by the complaint for us to repair the bathrooms and the basement ceiling and to reimburse the home owners for their plumbing bill. We sold the buyers a house that was in good working condition. Any action to resolve the customer’s concerns are out of our control as we are not responsible for the cut in the pipe approximately one month after the owners occupied the property. Out of courtesy we tried to help the homeowners even though we were not obligated to help. We hope this satisfy the Revdex.com inquiry and remove us, Amil Dial Homes, LLC, as a responsible party.
