The Industry standard is to post the outside dimensions for furniture sold on the internetThis is done because the consumer wants to know the piece will fit in the space they intend put it in I have attached examples from our top competitor’s websites listing the exact piece from the same Amish Builder with the same exact outside dimensions we have posted on our site. The piece is listed as a Stereo Cabinet on our site, and that of our competitors, because that is the name the Amish Builder has given it. The customer never offered us the dimensions of his turntable, thus we had no reason to question if it would fit on the pull-out shelf he requested.ll us why here
I am rejecting this response because: I had NO idea that the dimensions given were “outside” dimensions; it should have said so!!! I have no doubt that there are other companies who are remiss in how they advertise their products; that doesn’t make it right; there are other companies who do it right. I was more concerned about what needed to fit in the cabinet, as I did discuss with the AOS agent … not the dimensions of the top of the cabinet. The manager could have dampened the whole problem by just saying “sorry that everything didn't meet your expectations”, and offering to refund the small amount which was paid for the sliding shelf. Instead, he persists on saying how fantastic his advertisement is; I find this rather hollow, and Amish Outlet Store is definitely NOT a company which I will recommend. Penny wise, pound foolish!!!

All of our furniture is listed on our website showing outside dimensions of the individual pieces. The outside dimensions of this stereo cabinet are listed correctly. When the customization of a piece is requested, it is our policy to rely on the customer to provide the width, depth, and...
height they prefer since they know what they intend to use the furniture for. The size and dimensions of the turn table were not given to our sales rep. No size requirements were given or changed for this order by the customer. The only customization this customer requested was to add a pull-out shelf to the standard sized cabinet. We have communicated with this customer via email working to resolve this situation. He stated in his original email to us, “I should have (wished I had) asked about the door width.” Our last email requesting further information from him has gone unanswered. We have given them the opportunity to return the customized cabinet following our Return Policy listed on our website. This is not a defect in material or workmanship.
