Amity Safe and Lock, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: On Friday 11/29, I brought my 2007 [redacted] g35x to Amity Safe and Lock because my driver side door would not open from the outside or the inside of the vehicle. I dropped it off in the morning, and was told it wouldn't be easy, but the car should be ready by the end of the day. As the end of the day drew nearer, I called Amity Safe and Lock to make sure the car would be finished. I was told yes the car would be finished and to come pick it up. While I was en route to Amity Safe and Lock (2 min down the street from my house) something happened with the power window on the driver side. As they explained to me, in order to fix the door lock, the entire door itself needed to be taken apart. After repairing the lock and while they were attempting to put back together the door, a wire controlling the power window was pinched, thus making the power window on the driver side inoperable. At this point, the door lock was working properly, but the window was not. I was told that there isnt anything they could do at that point since it was already the end of the day that Friday, and they would have an answer for me the following week in regards t the window. On Monday, 12/2, I contacted the Amity Safe and Lock to remind them of the importance of getting this entire situation fixed on Monday 12/2 because Monday 12/2 and Friday 11/29 were my only days off. I was told that if I could drop of the car on Monday, they should be able to fix the window. The window was fixed by the deadline, and I paid Amity Safe and Lock 212.70. All seemed well, until the morning of 12/25m where I could not get into my driver side door from inside or out again. I contacted Amity Safe and Lock to inform them of the situation, but never got contacted back. Subsequently, for some strange reason, the following day, 12/26, the door and lock mysteriously began to work again, not sure why, so I left it alone. On 1/7/14, I attempted to get into my car, on the driver side, and again, was not able to get into the car on the driver side from inside or outside. I called Amity Safe and Lock the morning of 1/7/14, and was told I could not bring the car back there; they refuse to service it, refuse to give me my money back, and refereed me to bring the car to a dealer to get serviced. I was irate at this point as I felt I already gave Amity Safe and Lock 212.70 and the issue it still not rectified. The Owner, [redacted], was very upset and annoyed that I kept calling looking for answers, but [redacted] kept purposely disconnecting my calls (hang up on me) and instructed his employees not to give him the phone if I called again. At this point, I feel Amity Safe and Lock took my money, I am still having issues with my door lock, they refuse to even look at the car, and on top if all the that, treated me as a customer, who is in the customer service industry, in the poorest, unprofessional manor, including raising his voice to me over the phone and acting very immaturely. If he does not have faith in his techs to fix the problem, he could have just said that, as opposed to just shooowing me away and downright refusing to help me. I feel Amity Safe and Lock stole by 212.70 and I want it back and/or fix the problem once and for all. I have subsequently made an appointment with a car dealer to attempt to service the lock because regardless, I need my door to function properly. This is a health and safety issue, because at this point, I am literally trapped inside my car and the only way to get in or out, is by crawling in from the passenger side door. Please help!!!Desired Settlement: Either refund me my 212.70 so I can bring it somewhere and actually have the problem fixed, or fix the problem once and for all themselves

Response:

The Customer asked us to check the door on this car. We informed him it was a $75+tax Diagnostic Fee just to check it without any repairs being done. After the diagnosis he was advised to take to the dealer but did not was afraid of their high prices. We had the door apart already so we attempted the minor repair for $200 including the original $75. We reconnedted the rod and plastic clip that detached, but had to take vehicle to [redacted] at our expense of $150 to have the Window reinstalled properly, We also infomed the customer that we do not warranty this type of repair as to no new hardware is used and all we can do is reinstall what came discontented. Cold Weather and excessive force tends to make this happen. We told him today that because of the window problem we did not want to work on the car again and again told to go to the dealer to have it looked at. He is animatedly against this. I tried to talk sensibly to him but he would not allow me to speak as he continued to talk over me not letting me get a word in. I tried to inform him that our work was done properly and it held up for over a month, yes it should of gone further but it again was very cold this morning. As the Revdex.com can tell from our past record we are a reasonable company and get no complaints and resolve our problems in a professional reasonable manor. This customer will not accept the fact that he should just go to the Dealer to see if they can find why the problem keeps happening rather than going to a locksmith to try to keep the bill low. We do not feel he is entitled to a refund of any amount as there is nothing warranted. How ever we will conciser a reasonable fair solution offered by the Revdex.com to resolve this matter.
