*** ***, has lied on multiple occasions throughout this process and omitted information about this process willingly to mislead the Revdex.com, as well as persons reading this review.I am willing to provide the audio and video recordings from our interactions proving that the only person who has acted in an unprofessional manner, *** and *** ***, from asking for corners to be cut to asking to forgo proper permits for disposal of hazardous materials from there home and physical violence when they were comforted with the fact that there was proof that they did request the permits to be ignoredIt is documented 100%, this is only now an issue because they did not budget properly to renovate a vary old home as well as the fact that receiving input from "a friend of the family" that was responsible for the original unlicensed work that was NOT preformed to code prior.*** and *** *** approved each milestone as well as paid each milestoneas the contract read to activate the milestoneWhenever there were issues we quickly addressed them and quickly and in a timely manner, the only thing that *** is being honest about is that there are indeed text messages, out lining the fact that AML did come to a work stoppage after the stop work order was posted and a text was sent to her explaining that *** and *** were scapegoating *** for the stop work order and that AML was not comfortable working under the conditions presented by the *** and meeting there request. The cabinets were damaged by a *** *** delivery, they were informed (video evidence) and they agreed to *** *** refunding the delivery charge and discounting additional supplies order to help cover additional cost they did not want to cover out of pocket agreeing that we would salvage the cabinets after asking are Carpenter on site at the time of he believed they could be salvaged (also documented). All of the personal effects were moved, the table that was in the house had been in the same location since the beginning of the build, and as the *** had been in the home on numerous occasions since the beginning of demo and there was never a word about the table and its location or needing to be moved or covered until again the *** began looking for ways to get out of paying there billsAt that point the multiple issues began to come up. AML is 100% responsible for the damage to the front door (The Decorative Door Ornament) regardless its the site manager and Project managers responsibility to assure the integrity of the site, the copper less then $in value was stolen from the corner of the garage as was an employees bike and another employees car was broken intoThe neighborhood is not the safest and the works took for granted that they would be able to come and go from their cars parked in front of the garage to the inside of the house. This was not the case and that is on AML, there is still an outstanding amount left unresolved owed by the ***. AML is willing to credit these items with interest to satisfy the client, our goal was to create an outstanding product and a great relationship with the client and we have fallen short of that. IN NO WAY did we ever misrepresent ourselves our product or workers, and as it would be extremely unprofessional to show personal messages or videos that will not show ourselves or client in the best light we are willing to do this if it will provide more clarity to the accounts presented by the ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I have recordings of *** giving me a hard timeHe said He had to put the paint on the deck (actually the guy that built the decks told him to put it on) or the wood would warpNo one has tried to contact meI have a cell phone which keeps track of all incoming callsNo one has left a message to get a hold of meI have recordings of *** trying to get out of the workPaint is still coming off deckI hung up on him twice because he said he couldn y pick up the nails that his workman left I called him on 4/7/and told him about the nails and the paint coming off deckHe chose the deck paint, Behr Deck OverI have in writing That he would use treated wood, which he did notI have had only problems and lies and manipulation with ***Also the paint on sidewalk needs to be removedHe had almost months to pick up nailsI picked up handful of nails already, and they were not rusty so They are not old nailsI will not pay anything else until the work is complete.
Sincerely,
Theresa Derrick

The client was advised that when the job was started ( in the middle of winter) that because of the excessive cold that the paint may NOT cure, she insisted that the deck paint be applied. With in two weeks of completion of the deck build and painting the snow did come. The clients yard is full...

of weeds and unmowed with grass and weeds 2 feet tall in some areas, it is not possible to one only locate nails but also distinguish between old nails from the old deck and the new deck. On 2 recent occasion within the month we have made efforts to locate these nails and also touch up the paint, and this resulted in the deck being painted a second time. With the client refusing to answer the phone while workers where on location, or the client being unwilling to allow reasonable access to the front deck, leaving works to resort to jumping the deck wall to complete the task. The client has hung up on a PM on 2 occasions and has refused to pay the remaining balance owed. There will be no more attempts to retrieve nails from this location.

ETHICAL MANNER AND [redacted], aka [redacted] aka [redacted], IS A UNSCRUPULOUS CONTRACTOR THAT REPRESENTS HIMSELF AS LICENSED.         [redacted] claims in his response that we wanted to reduce costs by pulling our own permits.  This claim is false.  In the City of Denver, homeowners must demonstrate proficiency in specific areas by passing a Home Owner’s exam to pull their own permits.  My husband and I never agreed to complete that process.  We hired what we thought was a licensed contractor to pull permits.  We were prepared to pay the cost for obtaining the permits. [redacted] also claims we made “adjustments to the scope of work throughout the process to save money”.  We added additional work, as advised by AML, to ensure the project was done correctly.  We also paid each change order in full.  We have records that support our payments were made in a timely manner. [redacted] stated in his response that, “we posted the Stop Work Notice was because the customer was in breech of the contract as she never pulled the permits…” This is also a false claim.  An inspector employed by The City of Denver placed the Stop Work Order on the property as a result of no permits on file.  A contractor cannot take this type of action.  Its worth mentioning that when the Stop Work Order was placed on our property, I received a call from [redacted], late in the evening, informing me of the notice and begging me not to respond to any calls from the inspector.  My husband and I found this behavior suspicious and decided to go to the City’s permitting office.  That is when we discovered that AML/[redacted] is not a licensed contractor in the City of Denver.  [redacted] claimed on multiple occasions that he was licensed and reassured us that he would pull all necessary permits. [redacted] also claims that we signed off on a majority of the work completed as acceptable and complete.  This is absolutely not true.  Neither I nor my husband signed off on any work that was completed or determined as acceptable. Much of the work was remedial and had to be done over after permits were pulled and preliminary inspections were done by the City.   We also have several emails and texts that document concerns with the quality work and progress of the project that I can provide copies of if needed.  Many of the correspondences were tracked in [redacted], an online tool used to facilitate communication between contractors and homeowners.  Payment history was also documented on this site which can prove payments were made timely. In regards to the copper being stolen, no credit was offered by AML.  [redacted] also verbally agreed to move furniture for $20 per hour for labor.  My grandmother’s dining room table was moved from room to room and used by his employees as a work bench.  I also have photos of this.  In addition, per the contracted scope of work, the kitchen cabinets were to be preserved, painted and reinstalled.  AML took such poor care in removing and storing the kitchen cabinets, that all were damaged and unsalvageable.  We are forced to buy all new cabinets at a replacement cost of nearly $11,000.   [redacted]’s claim, “We have provided copies of all payments made by customer, receipts for materials, invoices for labor and a general accounting for the customer”, is also absolutely false.  We have not received any receipts for materials, invoices for labor or general accounting of expenses as requested.  My husband and I signed a construction contract with [redacted] owner of AML on Dec. 24, 2016.  [redacted] agreed to perform the contracted scope of work $33,900.  If he underbid the contract, that is his responsibility.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Please read AML’s responses carefully.  AML does not address the licensing issues.   Their responses are convoluted, accusatory and contradictory.  If my husband and I truly refused to have permits pulled, AML had every right to walk away from the deal.  It is the contractor’s responsibility to conduct business in an ethical and courteous manner.  A reputable contractor would refuse to continue to work on a project without proper permits or payment.   Overall, our experience with AML and [redacted] was atrocious.  Unfortunately, [redacted] and his staff manipulated us.  We were inexperienced and assumed they were worthy of our trust.  Don’t make the same mistake.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
