ended their relationship and moved outBoth residents were mailed security deposit breakdowns to the two separate addresses they provided individually to the rental officeFormer Resident #called frequently asking to expedite the security deposit, was upset that Former Resident #2's name was on the check, then upset that the check was mailed to FR #2's address and later upset because we weren't immediately voiding the check because FR #moved again.Our office told the FR's on four occasions, that we would not discuss voiding a check until enough time had elapsed to consider it lost or until it came back to usWe were giving the Post Office time to forward the mail to the new address or have it returned to sender.Both residents came to the Rental Office on 02-22-@ 11:a.myelling, making demands, speaking over top of me, saying I made multiple mistakes and saying they wouldn't leave until they got what they wantedThey weren't listening to anything I had to say and were hostile towards meI left in response to the abuse to call the owner for further instructionsThe entire staff stopped their operations and went to the office and instructed both FR's to leaveWhen they still refused to leave, they were told that they were trespassing and warned that the next step was for us to call the sheriff's office.Later the same day, a message was left on voicemail instructing us NOT to void the checkOur bank records show the check was cashed the following day, 02-23-at 2:p.mwith both FR's signatures on the endorsement lines.Applicable law: Virginia Landlord Tenant Act 55-248.16, A.(iii) Where there is more than one tenant subject to a rental agreement, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by each of the tenants, disposition of the securitydeposit shall be made with one check being payable to all such tenants and sent to a forwarding address provided by one of the tenants.If you have any further concerns, please contact my office and I will make myself personally available to you.*** ***Property Manager
