My father took out a Life & Accident policy almost years agoMy mother and he thought this was a way to help defer the cost of a nursling home, should they be in that situationMy mother passed away in August of Father was put into a nursing home in December When we filed a claim to start the long term care I was informed that he did not qualify It seems he has to be admitted to a long term care facility within days after being hospitalized for at least days.as a result of an accidentAs POA for him I was unaware of this criteria He is and does not remember the specifics but it seems to me that after paying premiums for almost years he should be entitled to somethingI was told that the $700+ are so dollars (per year) that he paid into this policy was strictly to maintain the policyHe now has nothing for all those years of premiums It seems like a rip offThis may be general practice It may be called out in the policy but it seems to me that these criteria should have been blatantly clear
