company a chance to complete the job to his satisfactionLike many other professions, construction jobs often encounter unforeseen obstaclesIt is my understanding that while this is partially the case at hand, the contractor working at his home had a plan to remedy the hurdles as they surfacedIt is also my understanding that the homeowner, in this case was not willing to allow for remedy and/or mitigation of lossThe amounts paid for labor and material reflect the materials he agreed to upon purchase with receipt in hand and the labor paid was labor earnedOriginally the home owner was supposed to purchase all materials on his own, in order for the contractor to begin to attempt to get the project on the home owner's time line, all materials were purchased by the company than paid back by the home ownerHe also stopped payment on one of the checks that were for material and the contractor had him pay cash for one payment because of itThe contractor was also trying to assist the home owner by not insisting on half the money up front and working with the paymentsThe job was half done when the contractor asked for another payment after he had relayed the floor of the shower a second time from originally doing it the home owner's way and it not workingIn the event he had allowed for AMP It Up to bring the project to completion, the finished result would have been to his satisfactionTo this, I had no choice but to deny his request for reimbursement based on the fact that it is unduly unreasonableI also did say I would not come out to look but would send my business partner to look at the job due to the fact he was insisting I come aloneI am a female business owner and going to any one's home alone when you do not know them is not an intelligent thing to doHe refusedUnforeseen obstacles do occur a good portion was due to the homeowner telling the contractor how to do his jobThe homeowner watched a video making him believe he knew better on how to proceed during the project both adding more time to the timeline because he would choose to do something like paint and add a membrane to the shower on his own that was not needed cause the material used made it not necessaryAnother example is he would insist that the contractor do something and the contractor would comply and it would not work so the contractor would have to remove and remedy the situation which also adds more timeI have Compiled correspondence between the homeowner and myself as well as the home owner and the contractor as well as pictures and the report from the officer that the homeowner said he filed that dayIn their he also denied having any of the contractors tools and that is why the police got involvebecause I told the contractor he had to get a police escort in order to retrieve themYes the contractor is my husband, but he knows I will not accept him not doing the best job possible because it is my company my name attached to his workI hope you feel as we do and other contractors we have talked to that we did do what we could to remedy the situation and that what was done was rightWhat the homeowner wish the contractor to do was over kill for the project but the contractor did try to appease him as often as possibleRegards, Shannon Horner Owner of Amp It Up Construction

Case ID of [redacted], I am the owner of Amp it up Construction. The home owner that complained about my company did not allow us to finish a project at his home and I apologized for the way he felt. Amp It Up strives to delight each and every customer. Unfortunately like I stated he did not give my...

company a chance to complete the job to his satisfaction. Like many other professions, construction jobs often encounter unforeseen obstacles. It is my understanding that while this is partially the case at hand, the contractor working at his home had a plan to remedy the hurdles as they surfaced. It is also my understanding that the homeowner, in this case was not willing to allow for remedy and/or mitigation of loss. The amounts paid for labor and material reflect the materials he agreed to upon purchase with receipt in hand and the labor paid was labor earned. Originally the home owner was supposed to purchase all materials on his own, in order for the contractor to begin to attempt to get the project on the home owner's time line, all materials were purchased by the company than paid back by the home owner. He also stopped payment on one of the checks that were for material and the contractor had him pay cash for one payment because of it. The contractor was also trying to assist the home owner by not insisting on half the money up front and working with the payments. The job was half done when the contractor asked for another payment after he had relayed the floor of the shower a second time from originally doing it the home owner's way and it not working. In the event he had allowed for AMP It Up to bring the project to completion, the finished result would have been to his satisfaction. To this, I had no choice but to deny his request for reimbursement based on the fact that it is unduly unreasonable. I also did say I would not come out to look but would send my business partner to look at the job due to the fact he was insisting I come alone. I am a female business owner and going to any one's home alone when you do not know them is not an intelligent thing to do. He refused. Unforeseen obstacles do occur a good portion was due to the homeowner telling the contractor how to do his job. The homeowner watched a video making him believe he knew better on how to proceed during the project both adding more time to the timeline because he would choose to do something like paint and add a membrane to the shower on his own that was not needed cause the material used made it not necessary. Another example is he would insist that the contractor do something and the contractor would comply and it would not work so the contractor would have to remove and remedy the situation which also adds more time. I have Compiled correspondence between the homeowner and myself as well as the home owner and the contractor as well as pictures and the report from the officer that the homeowner said he filed that day. In their he also denied having any of the contractors tools and that is why the police got involvebecause I told the contractor he had to get a police escort in order to retrieve them. Yes the contractor is my husband, but he knows I will not accept him not doing the best job possible because it is my company my name attached to his work. I hope you feel as we do and other contractors we have talked to that we did do what we could to remedy the situation and that what was done was right. What the homeowner wish the contractor to do was over kill for the project but the contractor did try to appease him as often as possible. Regards, Shannon Horner Owner of Amp It Up Construction
