We were asked to do work for *** through a referral. 100% of our work comes this way We do 400-jobs of all sizes and types per year and have not had any issues of this nature with any of our customers We did electrical and mechanical work as requested by ***
The owner of the company (***) added approximately $worth of electrical changes and after we had completed work informed us that he knew he didn't have the money when he had us do it and would like to make payments We installed the exhaust for the customers ducting system which he had designed himself The customer did a large part of the scope work for the duct system himself, including the intake systems and the cupola structure The city would not approve the customers intake design and he asked us to helpWe meet with the customer and city multiple times. Every time we meet we would agree on a plan and the next day the customer would try and change the plan to cut corners. At this point we recommended involving a engineer. We were not comfortable proceeding without an engineer to ensure there was no wiggle room for cutting corners on work our name would be on. All work that we agreed upon is completed 100% and as of now the customer is over days past due on payment To date we have billed the customer $29,plus tax ($2,654.17) for a total of $32, At this time, we have received a total of $ 28,from the customer leaving him with a balance of $4, We had not heard from the customer in months and were awaiting payment from him One day he called our office while we were in a staff meeting and not taking callsA moment later he walked through the front door stating that he had overpaid us and that we owed him moneyI told him that he had an outstanding balance with us of about $4,I asked him to provide proof that he had paid more, in the event that we had made an error in accountingHe agreed to do so and left the officeHe has made no other contact with us since that day until this We will gladly apply the cost of the permit to the balance
