Amplus Air Conditioning Contractor, Inc.

After welcoming this company into my home and receiving a completion of work certificate, I found multiple faulty installation problems. Contorted duct work with holes, the cans that affix to the vent holes were left open and not flush or secured to the vents, instead they were left open and angled to blow cold air into dead ceiling space. The second night the unit flooded over into the vent going into the kitchen causing water to drain/ flood onto the kitchen floor, the PVC piping that drains the water from the AC to the outdoor drain was not glued or secured and was not connected to the drain pipe in the wall causing all water to drain behind the wall. When we finally reached the company about the water (Saturday) they stated they would be there Monday. In order to stop the overflow of water we had to shut the system down. We (not Amplus) then had to cut/shorten the drainage pipe coming out of the handler approximately six inches so the water would drain out instead of back flowing into the AC causing the overflow. The company stated they would close all holes in the closet where the handler sits and I still have large open holes and the holes they did close were sealed with tape, in spite of a letter from Amplus stating "we will close all holes but will not sand and paint". I'd love to know how one would sand tape. In disputing this work we continue to deal with false accusations. No permit was pulled and the company stated they do not pull permits "unless the neighbors complain". They continue to tell anyone they need to that we refuse them any further access to the property, Amplus continuously fails to complete that sentence by not adding the last words of that statement "without a permit". During the job there should have been a rough inspection and then a final inspection. Once the job was completed I called for the city inspection which failed on 10 violations. I received the Certificate of Completion from Amplus on Dec.18th 2015, however, the permit was not applied for nor approved until Jan. 6th 2016 and not until we stated no further work or repairs without a permit. At this point there is so much obvious negligence in the workmanship that I fear what I can't see within the handler and the compressor. We have already had to have the Freon recharged which means they did not charge at time of installation or there is a leak.
