I am rejecting this response because:This business owner did not contact me to make amends but instead called me to bully and threaten meThe owner completely fabricated the circumstances of this complaint. There were clearly rotten vegetables in his self service area that I had put in my sandwich and his employees mocked me, and the owner is claiming that I provoked this harassment when I never spoke or engaged them in any way other than to order my food.The very idea that anyone, gay or straight, would try to get a reduced price at a fast food place by flirting with employees is ridiculousInstead of attempting to honestly investigate what happened, he is trying to hurl ridiculous accusations at me.I would have been satisfied if His manager simply took my initial complaint seriously and listened to me for minuted without immediately insulting me and immediately claiming there was nothing wrong with the food or the employeesIf the owner sincerely sought out to correct the manager's misstep and addressed my legitimate concerns.instead, the owner is hurling ridiculous accusations involving sexual issues that have nothing to do with the harassing behavior of his employees or the spoiled food.This owner doesn't understand that this complaint was filed by an average, reasonable professional who was seriously concerned about his spoiled food and the harassing behavior of his employeesHe needs to address these issues seriously and sincerely without trying to deflect from these two issues with his ridiculous accusations that are obviously a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the real issues.Regards,

This letter is in response to your letter dated June 16, 2017.The gentleman who filed a complaint with you has been a customer at our restaurant on several occasions. His interaction with the staff is always the same: He flirts with the staff to either get their attention or a reduced price. And the...

result is always the same - the staff does not respond in kind. Thus, he always walks away from our establishment ungratified - yet he continues to come back. This time, however, he complained to my manager, Thomas, that the staff was making fun of him - not directly to him, but to each other - because he is gay. That is what he told Thomas - because he is gaynot because he is a minority. He has changed his story three times now (once to Thomas, once on [redacted]!, regarding how We serve our product, and in his complaint to you). Thomas, being a gay man himself and knowing the staff well, assured the gentleman that this was not the case. In addition, the staff, other than Thomas and myself, are Latino, and do not speak English well. They communicate to each other in Spanish. Unless this individual is fluent in Spanish, he would not know what they were saying. Thomas, by the Way, is fluent in Spanish, and is working side by side with the staff on the front line. I was not on the front line at the time. When he spoke with Thomas, there was no mention of "spoiled vegetables" - only that he was being made fun of because he is gay. Thomas would not tolerate any one being made fun of for ethnic, religious, or sexual preferences, and certainly not from any staff member at our restaurant.This what the gentleman had to say on [redacted]! (Shortened version):Visited this location and three of the Hispanic employees cooking behind the counter openly mocked me for some reason. They pointed at me and spoke to each other in Spanish about me and laughed for some reason. Was it because of my ethnic minority background?Also, I noticed the vegetables were clearly spoiled that they put in my sandwich. I spoke to the manager and he immediately dismissed my concerns about the rotten vegetables and the rude WorkerS. First, the gentleman changed his story. Instead of saying that he was being mocked for being gay, as he told Thomas, he now questions if he was being mocked because he is a minority. All of the line workers, again outside of Thomas and myself, are minorities themselves.Second, we do not put any vegetables in anyone's sandwich - we are a self-serve quick-service restaurant- the customers help themselves. Saying that the staff put spoiled vegetables on his sandwich is a blatant lie.Third, we do a couple of thousand dollars a day in sales between 10am and 4 pm each day. As a result, We are constantly preparing fresh-cut vegetables for placement on our salad bar. We receive produce generally four days a week - sometimes five days if needed - from [redacted] to insure that our produce is fresh.And fourth, our salad bar is refrigerated and kept at the proper temperature at all times.[redacted], have been in the restaurant business for thirty-seven years now. pride myself on keeping a clean restaurant with a well-trained staff who are respectful of customers and treat them well. This is not always easy to do, but we do our best. However, there are times when a customer will simply be unreasonable or have another agenda, for whatever reason. This gentleman is one of those customers. I am happy to speak with him at any time to clear up this misunderstanding. I can also assure you that this gentleman did not spend $20 at our restaurantas he claims. If he purchased a regular sandwich, a dessert, a regular order of fries and a drink (which he did not, and which is all that we offer), his total cost would only be $18.00.I find it sad that that one individual can cause so much difficulty for a small business trying to make it in this difficult market.Thank you for giving me the chance to respond.
