I don’t understand how any property is using this company, i’ve spent days on the phone trying to get my internet and cable working and it’s always the same run-around, they “escalate” your ticket and say that you’ll receive a call in 24-48 hours, which you WILL NOT, it will be about another week before someone. This is the most frustrated i’ve been dealing with any company in my existence and i’m going to strongly urge my apartment complex to use an alternative.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPLEX USING THEIR SERVICES

I have spent more time calling Amtech customer service than actually watching tv. My service has been out for about nineteen times from Feb to present (3/15/18). I was told by Direct TV this is due to wiring in my apartment. The tech who comes out to work on the service is rather nice over the phone and via text. The disconnect is between my apartment leasing office(Legend Property Group) and Amtech customer service. The Direct TV service is paid through my rent. Therefore ..no one will claim responsibility of reimbursement lost due to lost service. I am told by Amtech that is Legend's responsibility. The Legend Group leasing manager told me that Direct TV is included in my rent. It is a free service and I will not be credit back in any way. How is that fair? I refuse to believe that Amtech is providing free service of Direct TV to my apartment building. I even tried to watch tv on my laptop .To watch the shows I am missing. You can't even watch current shows online. This is awful. I am afraid of going into the weekend once again without having tv to watch. I wonder how Amtech and Legend Property group would feel if they were in my shoes?

Review: On approximately Nov 25, 2015 an AMTECH service technician came to my condominium to hook up [redacted] service in my home. In doing so, the technician disconnected my internet service which is provided by [redacted]. I did not discover this until several days later when trying to use the internet, it wasn't functioning in my home. I placed another service call to [redacted] who returned to my home and determined that the issue was that AMTECH should have "split the line" instead of just disconnecting the [redacted] service. [redacted] stated it is Amtech's responsibility to do this as [redacted] was initially on the line. The president of AMTECH was on site on around December 8 and tried to coordinate my being there however I have a fulltime day job and could not be there when he was. Now AMTECH wants me to pay $75 for them to come out and fix their mistake. That is not fair. I left a message for Mr.. [redacted] to call me but he has not returned my call.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for the service call that AMTECH needs to make to correct their initial mistake. Mr. [redacted] is going to say he was available and I wasn't - however, he didn't make a special trip to help me, he was meeting with the building manager. Why should I be responsible for paying to correct the mistake that AMTECH made? I have two businesses telling me that the other is responsible and in the meantime, I am without a service I am paying for.

Response:

In reference to following complaint.Amtech accepts responsibility for this and regrets the inconvenience to [redacted]. Our tech should have split the line at he of installation of the [redacted] product. Amtech informed [redacted] that we were going to be on the property shortly after the issue occurred. She said to call when we got there. Called 4 times on the 2 numbers she left us. Since [redacted] basically does not care whether the unit is working, (Only Their product) we needed to dispatch a tech to split the lines and a truck roll fee of $75 was charged. . The completion paperwork was submitted to Amtech on Dec 30 and [redacted] is working fine. Amtech is refunding her the $75 for the service call on 1/11/2016 Ref [redacted]Please close case

Response:

Thank you for your help in this matter. I received the [redacted] notification today indicating that Amtech has refunded the $75 service charge to my credit card account. I am sure that your inquiry to them was instrumental in my obtaining this refund and really appreciate your support.Best regards,[redacted]

Review: Amtech Communications is a company that provides Video, Voice, and Internet to apartment complexes throughout several states. On their website and on advertising material, the company states that if you would like to upgrade your internet to a higher package to contact them by phone and you could do so up to 25 mbps, for reference the standard package is 4 mbps up and 1 mbps down. I originally contacted the company back in May as this was roughly 2 weeks after my move in date and asked them to upgrade my internet. They informed me that my unit did not have the required hardware to upgrade the internet as it was on backorder but would be in within the month and that they could contact me when it came in. I agreed and two months went by so I contacted them again. This time they stated that they have plans to allow upgrades in the future but currently could not give me a timeline. At this point I contacted my landlord who said that this has been an ongoing problem and something that should not be happening and for me to email them regarding the situation. Over the months of contacting them, they have given different excuses to different people who have contacted them, such as not having the equipment, not having a line into the building for upgrades (they use [redacted] at the ISP so that is false), etc. According to my rental property it is part of their contract to offer these upgrades and that is all I am attempting to do.Desired Settlement: I would just like to be able to upgrade my internet, per the contract they have signed with my rental property and the information that they freely advertise online on their website and at the rental properties that they serve. As the upgraded internet was one of the reasons I picked this residence over another property and is a requirement for my job it has cost me extra having to use 4G to get usable internet speeds.

Response:

Amtech has a contract to provide Bulk Internet to the property 4Mb X 1Mb. Amtech is working on increasing bandwidth in [redacted] does not have the infrastructure at this time to provide. Amtech will be working with several carriers to bring fiber to the area and to give ALL resident to capability to upgrade their internet. We are hoping that this will be taken care of in the next few months.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10357931, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company advertises that they offer upgrades within these units in [redacted] so they need to either amend their advertising in the region or offer the ability to upgrade these units as they advertise.

Regards,

Review: On May 6,2014,I called Amtech and spoke with [redacted] in Customer Service to have internet service turned on at my [redacted] condo. She informed me that I would have to pay for the year and that my service would be on in six hours. We arrived and had no service, called them and dealt with them for four days before having to leave and she assured me that the problem would be resolved by the time I got back. I returned four days later and still had no service. They sent technical support to try and resolve it. He came and left and said nothing. Needless to say, we were never able to hook up to internet. We put several calls in to customer support and never received a return call. After a couple of week, we were told that the refund would show on the credit card. We called several more times and have yet to receive a return call. I expect my $120.00 to be credited to my account and this company should be watched closely for bad business practice.Desired Settlement: $120.00 re-applied to my credit card.

Business

Response:

A request for a refund was sent to finance for $120.00 on or about June 24th.
