Dear Sir/Madam:

Brief overview of complaint:

Upon purchasing a home in Nov. 2005 I contracted with An Exteriors to replace wood siding, with vinyl and install new gutters on the home. Work was completed in Jan. 2006. In 2008 the rear gutter was falling off, we called An Exteriors to fix their work, they told us the wood had rotted and assured us they did not put gutters on rotten wood. We had them totally replace the larger gutter that their salesman talked us into getting with a standard size and they put up plastic gutter guards on all of the gutters and charged us a fee. (see invoice). This past winter the gutter over the garage started falling off, my husband put large nails In it to hold it on. This spring the gutter that had been replaced was falling off again and birds were nesting in between the house and the gutter.

At that point we did not want them to do anything again and contacted a company that actually makes gutters. **. Spears came out to look at cur gutters. He said they were a mess and had not been installed correctly which caused water to flow toward the center thus causing water to get behind the gutter and rot the wood. He also said the clamps used were cheap and would not support the gutters.

We gave An Exteriors the opportunity to fix their work, as you will see attached they wanted to charge another $3,000. No one I know including myself who lived in the same house for 55 years had to replace gutters every 5 years as they claim is necessary.

Attached you will find the following:

• Copy of Certified Letter sent and signed for on 8/6/13

• An Exterior estimate to repair damage

• Action Sheet Metal estimate to repair damage (They have performed this repair)

Fax to President requesting resolution Invoices/contracts for work performed

Sincerely,Desired Settlement: Return of the $1,150.00 paid to replace and repair the rear gutter in 2008. Reimbursement of the $750.00 we paid to have all of the incorrectly hung gutters re-hung (see Attached document).

Response:

Dear **. [redacted], This job was done 2005 and 2008. If there is something wrong on the job that we did, the problem should arise at least after 3 years. We had bad storm and bad snow for the last 5 years, how could we be blamed? The first time she complained on 2008 after the bad snow, when we went to her house his gutters was full of debris (see attached picture). That is why she hired us to install gutter screen, but even if you have a gutter screen (mesh) you still need to clean your gutters at least every 2 years to make sure that it will function well. This is the first time that somebody complained for the work that we did for 5 years and it is out of warranty already. Whenever one of our clients called and complain, we always go back and check and help whatever is necessary but [redacted]. [redacted] after we gave her estimate for other work, she hired somebody else to do the work and wants us to pay for it and I believe it is not fair for us Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

Best Regards, [redacted] AnAccounts ManagerAn Exterior, Inc
