Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I did not say that to the AYC. They had indicated on that phone call they would be considering a credit but did not specify how much the credit would be worth. I did say a credit would allow to reconsider the AYC for future charters. The credit given was for less than one day - I believe totally inadequate

Hello AllPer our discussion yesterday, we received the letter dated November with Mr***’s new comments.I’ve attached a copy of the charter invoice that shows the daily rate for the boat of $($after 5% discount, divided by nights= $247.50) Mr*has returned his Credit certificate to us, with an amount of $written across it The current rate for the boat in red season is now $ The rate when booked as $260, but the client had a 5% discount.AYC is not able to refund the Department of Revenue’s sales tax, and the insurance is fully earned, since the boat was in use, and the insurance was in force, therefore the credit was for the actual daily cost of the boat The amount of the refund was for cleaning and a variety of other situations, since the boat was not in acceptable condition when the clients boarded, for which we do apologize We sent the cleaning crew leader to the boat in an attempt to make this ‘right’ as soon as possible. At no time were the boat’s essential systems out of commission mechanically, as spelled out in our Cruising Guarantee Due to the legal language of the contract with the private boat owner, we cannot refund any portion of his revenue (AYC does not own the boats, but rather manages them, similar to a property management company.)When we received Mr*’s first letter, I went to the phone within MOMENTS, not minutes, of having it in my hand Even though the letter stated in no uncertain terms they would ‘never charter with AYC again’, good customer service demanded that we reach out to them Similarly, when Kristin L(AYC’s owner/accountant) was closing out charter files for the first week of Sept., she routed his file directly back to me to be sure something had been done, with a large, bold note on the cover At no time did we put this on the back burner or ignore our client’s valid concerns We sent a Cruising Credit, and then based on the proactive care given when the problem was discovered, we felt it was handled satisfactorily.We do not take this sort of complaint lightly, and feel every problem is an opportunity to press for improvement I’ve placed a copy of his certificate in his file for safekeeping.SincerelyChristine C Charter ManagerAYC
