Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/02/09) */
I met with our fixed operations manager, [redacted] who has over 20 years experience with [redacted] vehicles. He was directly involved with the repairs to Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle. I have attached copies of the relevant work orders. July 25, 2014...

Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle to us with intermittent start issues and the check engine light on. Service could not duplicate the no start issue checked vehicle over and diagnosed with [redacted] scan tool which indicated a faulty starter relay which was replaced under warranty. We did not have the relay in stock so customer was given a courtesy vehicle at no charge which he drove for over a week. Our fixed operations manager after replacing the relay drove vehicle for a full day and was not able to duplicate the no start issue stated by customer. Customer states everything worked well after that for several weeks till customer brought vehicle in again August 22, 2014 to have a factory recall preformed and made no mention of starting issues. On October 28, 2014 customer came in with check engine light on which scan tool confirmed was a crank position sensor. Kilometers driven at this time were almost 10000 kilometers from initial visit in July. This time scan tool confirmed the crank position sensor was faulty which was replaced but unfortunately vehicle was over the 60K warranty coverage for this part and customer had to pay. On each visit technicians could not duplicate the customers no start complaint and repairs preformed were confirmed with [redacted] scan tool. Work provided by dealership was done for failed parts and warranty applied as per [redacted] Canada warranty coverage's. Customer was supplied with a free loaner vehicle while parts were ordered which is not part of warranty but goodwill on part of dealership. Customer was notified rear brake work was required but elected not to have work done by dealership. We see no reason to refund any of the customer pay work and any expenses related to customer travelling to and from dealership for work are not covered by warranty.
