We have made numerous attempts at contacting the patient to discuss his complaint regarding the billing of his BiPAP machine so as to come to a mutually acceptable agreement, but unfortunately we have yet to speak to him directlyAs we were unable to reach him both at home and at work by telephone,
we invited him to call one of our manager’s phone numbersThe second invitation by email has so far gone unanswered
With regards to the billing of the BiPAP, insurance requires monthly rental up to the purchase price of the machineSince the start of that rental process in March of 2015, the patient changed insurance twice (three different insurance companies during the rental span)This complicated the billing process as the patient’s second insurance required documentation from the patient which we did not obtain until November of That insurance, Moda, required a prior authorization before the rental could be coveredThat was finally received after the termination date of coverage under that insurance (see attached below), and the date span was for July, August and September of 2016, not
The disputed amount that the patient reports in his complaint is $2070, which is what insurance has paid on the BiPAP (***) since the startThe patient has paid $in coinsurance in the first three months of that rental
There was indeed a gap in the rental schedule after June of due to the patient’s second insurance requiring further documentation that was not obtained until November of that yearThat insurance mistakenly gave our office a prior authorization for continuing the rental billing for July, August and September of 2016, which explains for why the machine was billed for those monthsWhen it became evident that the patient was no longer covered under that insurance but instead had a new, third insurance, the claim was submitted to that company
Unfortunately, our invitation to speak with the patient has gone without response in the past two weeksWhile we have not had the chance to discuss the complaint directly, the Anchorage Sleep Center is willing to discontinue any further billing for the BiPAP without its purchase price being met and to not hold the patient responsible for any remaining balance (coinsurance from July, August and September of 2016) for that particular item (***)
If the patient finds this arrangement satisfactory, he may let us know by contacting our office at 907-743-or by responding to the emails we have sent him already

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, *** ***
