Ancient Techniques Natural Hair Salon Reviews (1)

Review: Enclosed is a copy of a letter that I sent to the person, [redacted] whom I am contacting you about. I went for services in her hair salon, Ancient Techniques, which is located on [redacted]. I had a horrible experience in her salon and want further action to be taken. Not only was my visit to her shop unpleasant, but it was also not friendly at all. [redacted] was my hair stylist. My first day with her was unacceptable. [redacted] looked as though she didnt want to do the job, but proceeded to do so. I was very unsatisfied with the way my hair turned out and called her back to ask her to repair it. She said she would give me a call back, but never did. I then took matters into my own hands and contacted another Sisterlocks Loctician about the issue and she informed me that the individual had not only damaged my hair, but other young ladies hair as well. She had (has) a lot of complaints against her. I wanted [redacted] to refund my money for services, because I am very unsatisfied with the results. Not only did she rush to get the job done, she stated to a second Loctician that she didnt even want to do my hair. I have yet to hear from [redacted] pertaining to my refund. She received my letter on May 3, 2013 and she sent me a text message saying so. I wanted to report her because I am not the first individual whom she has taken advantage of and Im pretty sure that I wont be the last. LETTER SENT TO [redacted]:Ancient Techniques April 30, [redacted]Dear [redacted], I am writing you this letter of concern in regards to my Sisterlocks. Before coming to your salon, I researched Sisterlocks for about 3 months before deciding to get them. I visited the Sisterlocks.com website and searched and searched for affordable prices and quality work. I called around to about 8 different places before I came to the conclusion that after speaking with you over the phone, that I wanted you to do my install. I had confidence that you would do a wonderful job by the way you carried yourself over the phone. We then set up a date to do the consultation. When I first arrived at your shop, you were talking to clients for about 15 minutes or so and I asked if Pamela was there and you said that you were her and then you continued talking back with the other clients. You showed me to your chair and you initiated the consult. I had to ask you question after question about what was going to take place during the process. You never did completely inform me of what was going to happen. I had to ask you to see some of your work and you didnt have not one picture to show me. I even had to ask you to see the Sisterlocks books. You as the consultant was supposed to inform me step by step of the process. Not myself asking you question after question trying to get all of the information that I needed. I actually felt like I was teaching you something about Sisterlocks. You just didnt look like you were to interested in doing them in the beginning. I then should have walked away, but I had complete trust in you. You suggested a 3 day install but said you could probably do it in 2. The installation dates were March 7th and 8th 2013. We did day 1 of the install on March 7, 2013 which I had to call you repeatedly to find out where you were because you were late. You didnt think twice about calling me at all. I had to call you. We started at 9:00 a.m. but my appointment was made for 8:00 a.m. so we ended up starting an hour late. We finished that night at 10:30 p.m. and continued the next day around 8:30 a.m. Total number of hours estimated were 23 with a total of 565 Sisterlocks. We scheduled for myself to come back on the 29th of March at 10:00 a.m. for my retightening. I am highly disappointed in the fact that we even got to this point. I am also disappointed in the way that you came across to me with no feeling of concern on your part whatsoever. It hurt me to think that you actually thought I was trying to go to another salon for business. You and I both know that wasnt the case at all. You informed me on March 29, 2013, when I came in and got my free retighten, may I remind you that didnt even wash my hair, you just used a little dry shampoo and that was it. After the process, you said if I needed to call you ahead of time before my next retighten for any reason regarding my Sisterlocks, I could do so. I did!I went to another salon for a second opinion because I had called you on April 16, 2013 at approximately 9:00 a.m. to inform you that something wasnt going right with my Sisterlocks. I told you that I needed to come in for a retighten as soon as possible because my hair was growing faster than expected and that I couldnt wait until the 6 weeks as you requested to come in and get them retightened. I also told you that I had a lot of slippage and needed to have them looked at, washed and fixed because my head was itching so bad. We talked on the phone for a few minutes regarding the situation and you told me you would give me a call back and let me know when you could look at it. You never called me back. I shouldnt have to keep calling you in regards to my hair. When I expressed to you my concern over the phone, you should have made it a priority to let me know what we were going to do and when we were going to do it as my stylist and as someone who takes pride in their work. So, I then took matters into my own hands because I felt that you didnt feel any type of concern for me and what I was going through with my hair. When I went to another loctician, (actually the very first loctician I had called before I contacted you, but didnt go to, but shouldve went to), I asked for a second opinion before I made any assumptions. We and other consultants in the shop talked and looked at my hair for a good hour. They informed me that I had a lot of holes inDesired Settlement: FULL REFUND AMOUNT OF 525.00
