First and foremost the contract the customer signed says “No refunds will be made Credits remaining at the end of the Budget Period will be applied as a credit toward next year’s programs or can be applied to future oil deliveries at the Daily Posted Price or service No refunds will be made.” In June Andersen Oil Company sent the customer the Budget Closeout Summary showing a balance of $from the past heating season and it also showed what the projected monthly payments for the following season were At that point the customer was only responsible for paying the balance of $until the new contracts started in September Having not signed the new Price Cap Contract Andersen Oil sent to them in July the customer was not locked in to making monthly payments The customer elected to send in a $ payment for July and August and $for September, October, and November The account remained on Automatic Delivery until it was requested by the customer on November 17, to terminate Automatic Delivery, which per the contract the customer signed, must be done in writing At no point did Andersen Oil Company require the customer to make the payments they made from July to November Andersen Oil continued the monthly budgeting on the customers account because they continued to send in payments until they notified us of their intention to stop both the monthly payments and Automatic Delivery Should the customer, as they claim have sold their house or moved to a property without oil heat or moved out of state, no we do not just “keep the money.” Arrangements can be made to refund a customers credit With that said, the customer never indicated to Andersen Oil Company that was the case, rather that they could not afford the monthly payments

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: We spoke a man at Andersen in July and told him that there was no way that we could afford the new price increase that they sent out in the new contract That is where the 310.dollar amount came from.He told us to keep making the payments as we had been doing, At no time were we told that we did not have to make any payments except for the amount owed and we never did get a statement of what our balance wasIt would make sense that if a customer called and said that the payments were no longer affordable that the option would be to pay off the amount due and then go on call for delivery but that was not the case.He just gave a lower dollar amount to pay each month. Also I asked what would happen if a customer sold their home not that we didWe took delivery of oil and then had gallons put into our vacant unit to try to work the amount of credit down.As of this date what is our credit amount Also what is the minimum that we must take when we call in for fuel until this credit is gone? Sincerely, [redacted]

We have been with Anderson Oil for several years. Bought a new boiler from them two years ago and because we didn't do a pre-buy for oil with them this year, our warrantee on the furnace was voided and we were charged $120 for a service call. We hadn't read the contract thoroughly and when we called the owner about it, instead of explaining it nicely, he sent a nasty letter in reply. Needless to say, we have gone with another company.

Review: We had been a customer of Andersen oil for several years and had been on automatic delivery and budget plan.Every year the cost has risen and we can could no longer pay them 310.00 at the start of every month. We asked the company for a refund of any money that was a credit and was informed that they did not offer and type of refunds and that we had a credit of 1400.00 plus dollars and had to use it with them.At no time did we know or was we ever told that there was a no refund policy.

At this time we have no type of contract with them at all. Also they do not inform their customers that they have a credit balance on their accounts. It is not fair that we are forced to remain a customer of the company and forced to pay a higher amount for oil per gallon then is available at other local dealers.

Today we received a notice that we are no longer interested in being automatic delivery customers but they failed to mention anything about our credit balance. What happens if we sold our house and had no oil in our new residence or moved out of state? They just get to keep the money?Desired Settlement: Refund of any remaining credit by check or cash. I do not want a store credit. I was forced to buy oil from them on 11/18/14.At that time we filled our tank and had them put 100 gallons in a duplex that I own.The remaining credit is in excess of 600.00.
