Andersen Plumbing, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: (This is the short version, many things happened this day) My pipes froze on 2/18/2015, then burst on 2/19/2015. I called Andersen Plumbing on 2/20/2015 for them to come and assess my pipes, mentioning that I wanted to have someone come out to assess the damage and cost that day at about noon, because I had to take my son to court in [redacted] (I was driving when they took the intake call at 8:10). I had nobody else to be there, they advised the sooner someone get there, the better. Andersen Plumbing stated there would have to be a $75 service charge just to look. I agreed to this told her to have the plubmer call me with the assessment and price to repair so I could call them back, and then proceeded to tell [redacted] (who answered the call) how to access my plubming.

Upon my final return to my house at about 10:0 am, I wanted to know if anyone from Andersen Plumbing had been to look (I did see the skirting taken off) and ran into my neighbor. She told me they hadn't any water, I told her about my pipes, then she mentioned there was someone looking at my pipes and left about 5 minutes prior.

I never heard anything, nobody called me and at 10:20 I called Andersen Plumbing's office to let them know I was there and if the person who looked come back to my house, I was there.

[redacted] arrived back and as I met him outside, I asked him if he could fix it. He pulled an approximately 2" peice of my pipe, which had a gash from the pipe bursting (about a half centimeter) and said "This is the culprit" and that he was going to patch the pipe by putting couplings on each end to fit the pipe. I had not talked to him or heard a price assessment, this was the first I had talked with him, and hadn't authorized any cutting or repairs. I didn't say anything because I figured he was the professional and knew what he was doing. He stated he could not repair the copper pipe, because "trailers are made in the south and they have odd/weird pipe sizes." I have never heard that before.

During his time at my house, he went to the store 3 times to get supplies, and told me his truck broke down that morning. He was there 7 hours and only patched my copper piping, sort-of put heat tape back on my pipe, and replaced a valve in my house where the water main enters into the home. I was charged $845. He was gracious enough to waive $120.00 off, would have been $965.00, for the time he spent running to the store.

My pipes froze, and leaked on Thursday, February 26th. I called the office first thing in the morning, spoke to [redacted], who informed me that "we don't guarantee work on trailers", which was the first I had heard of that. Otherwise I would not have called them. She gave my information to [redacted], the [redacted] and she called me at 8:42 a.m. Basically, I got the same answer from [redacted] that they cant guarantee or warranty the parts, because trailers are not made for cold weater (made in the south) and 'these things happen'. 'going to the store is the nature of the job' I told her that someone needed to come out and look at it, it was a simple fix and should have been fixed the fist time because I didn't want to pay again. I got no assistance, she said that she'd sit down with [redacted] and talk about it. I sent pictures of the pipe at 9:09 am. Didn't get a response until 1:41 via phone, which was basically the same things she said in our earlier conversation. She did say that she'd waive the $75 service fee, but would still have to charge on a per materials and time basis for [redacted].

Basically, they didn't even come to assess the service/repair that was done only 6 days prior. I did have another handyman fix it; replaced with pex tubing, new insulation, new heat tape, 2 guys for only $400 and in 2.5 hours.

I have all events, emails and photos documented if needed.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and preferrably the 17 hours of work I missed, less 2.5 hours it should have taken and less the $75 service fee. I did agree to that.
