Anderson Jewelers Reviews (1)

My name is D[redacted]. I apologize for the delayed response, I have been overloaded with work due to the holiday season. have been a jeweler for over 45 years, along with a diamond gemologist trained at the Gemological Institute of America. When work on jewelry take my time and am very careful in...

order to ensure that my customers are completely satisfied. However, if a problem does arise, make every effort to fix it.Mrs. T[redacted] is claiming a lot of things about the ring. A professional jeweler can repair most of the issues she is mentioning at minimum cost if they do really exist. The reason why I'm saying that, is because she is claiming all these things happened or exist without showing me in person. She is living in Utah and refuses to send me the ring. There are no pictures or estimates from an established GIA or EGL gem lab showing that her diamond is actually chipped, over polished, sharp or that her diamond's girdle changed to be whitish. There is also a contradiction to her dispute regarding her girdle. If a girdle is whitish looking, which a lot of them are, that would conclude that the girdle is polished correctly. There are 2 types of girdle finishes: faceted or a sandy finish, that looks slightly whitish "not sharp". That would not constitute a girdle being over polished as she is claiming. There is no such thing as a girdle being over polished. Some diamonds have a natural or naturals, which actually look like a chip and are acceptable in the diamond industry. One or two of them is common on the side of a girdle of a diamond. Diamond cutters leave them on the girdle and don't remove them because removing them compromises the diameter of the stone and lessens the carat weight from the original crystal. If her stone is chipped, it costs about $85 to repair. There is a small compromise to the monetary value of the stone, but nowhere the compromise in value she is generating of $6000. Removing a chip can lessen the weight of the stone 1 to 4 points. A fracture is another issue. Fractures can lower the price of a diamond much more because a lot more of the diamond has to be removed. She could have chipped or fractured the stone while wearing it after she picked it up. That isn't our responsibility if that took place. It's normal to chip a diamond while wearing it. It's really not that hard to do. She never mentioned any of these issues with the ring when she picked it up from us.if the diamond has an unusual characteristic about it, we do tell our customers when we receive it. If the diamond is chipped. Scratched, has major flaws, or is a shade of color that isn't a fancy Color, it is noted and discussed with the customer before we take the diamond in. We never saw a chip when she brought it in or when she left it with us. I do not recall seeing one when was working on it either. The buffing machines 1 use are designed to be friendly to jewelry. Not to damage jewelry! I personally polished her ring, and the ring was not sent anywhere like she is claiming in the letter. I never called or talked to her about sending her ring anywhere, I did all the workAfter picking up the ring and being happy with our work, she called two weeks later accusing me of chipping her diamond. I made an extra effort to call her back, but she left a phone number that didn't work. I found her number in our list and instead I got her husband. He told me that she does not live with him anymore and that she left him and their family and moved out of the state. He said to me, I'm sorry you have to deal with her. He was dumbfounded what went wrong with her and he forwarded me her Utah number. I don't know what financial strains she is going through, but I believe she is making up a claim to try to get $6000 out of us.After I talked to her husband, I called her and she explained some of the issues she is claiming in this letter. tried to explain my side and she wasn't hearing any of it and just kept on making up new things as we talked. I did hang up because she was so combative and unreasonable. Please contact me if you have any questions.Sincerely,D[redacted]Owner of A[redacted] Jewelers
