Anderson Towing

During the month of April A and I engines a local engine shop we do business with asked if we would be interested in changing out the body mounts for a *** that they were doing an engine for, and while we are at it they needed a new bumper for it painted and installed, and also
weather-strips for the doors. We said not really because we were to busy with insurance work and didn't have the time really, but if that's all there was we could try to squeeze it in. We towed the car from A & I to our shop at a discounted rate of $120. Once the car arrived at our shop we put it on the rack and got it in the air. We noticed that all the suspension had been replaced along with the brakes. We also saw that the frame was rusted and rotted and was complete junk and unsafe and needed to be replaced, so we called the customer and told them they needed to come down and see it. They saw it and agreed. It took some time to finally find the correct frame but once they did they purchased it and had it shipped directly to our shop, this process took months. We also showed them that the front clip had been replaced and when it was glued on, it was done improperly making the right fender stick out where it meets the door and window post, the customer said they didn't care. The customer was told at this point it would take much longer than originally thought and again that this car was not our priority and insurance work comes first. They said they understood and seemed to understand. NEVER at any time did the customer say anything to us about needing a Vin verification. When the frame finally arrived our lead tech looked up the exact specs and procedures on replacing and shimming the new frame. Due to the severe rust and rot where the frame comes in to the body, yes the fenders cracked, even with the exact specs used to do the exchange. We had every intention of fixing this for the customer of course at no cost to them, but they had the vehicle towed out of our shop before we could. The customer was only charged for the tow to our shop not for the second tow out of the shop, he was charged for only the fuel lines we purchased and time to install them, and the frame labor time. Since this has all come up, we called *** *** *** where the suspension work was done because we heard that this customer had done the same to them. With speaking to *** he stated that when the car came to him he showed the customer everything suspension wise that the car needed and pointed out the severe rust on the frame. (The customer told us they knew nothing about it) When they finished their work the car would not align due to poor quality of the frame. The customer came to pick the car up from *** *** and refused to pay for all the work so *** stated that he cut the bill in half just to get rid of the problem customer and is willing to make a full statement on our behalf
