Review: I called Anderson's to go to a rental house I manage for my son, who lives in Switzerland. I asked them to locate a leak the tenant said existed in the hot water line. The charge was $135. The man who went to the house, Gary, determined that the leak was in the master bathroom shower wall (he said). He did not open the wall to verify that. I hired a handyman to fix the leak and do the repairs that would be needed--- replacing wall board, tile, and grout in that wall. When the handyman opened that wall, indicated by Gary from Anderson's, there was no leak there and all wood inside the wall was dry--- there was never a leak there. The handyman had to find the leak, which turned out to be in the other bathroom, under the toilet, in the slab. When I first spoke to [redacted]ricia at Anderson's, she indicated that they would refund the $135. Then Gary got involved and started bringing up all kinds of issues (the handyman is not licensed; I am not licensed; etc), all to distract from the fact that he provided the wrong information, which caused us to replace wall board, tile, and grout where there was no leak. This was extra time, effort and materials for nothing! Anderson's owes us a refund.

Dear Revdex.com,
8685 Octans Street
San Diego, CA 92126
858-566-8248
Ms. [redacted] called our office on January 2, 2014 speaking with [redacted]ricia J. Anderson. Ms. [redacted]
talked to [redacted]ricia about her rental property. Her plumber said she had a slab leak but he did not
have leak detection equipment and asked if we could do a leak detection. Please note that I never
met professionally or personally with Ms. [redacted] at any point; prior, during, or at the completion
of my assessment for the issue at [redacted], and she is
claiming that information provided to her was incorrect. She requested that I send my findings
to her via e-mail which was done January 2, 2014.
Ms [redacted] called us back on January 6, 2014 to demand a refund, because according to her
plumber, the leak was not at the exact point my equipment indicated it was. As is our company
policy, [redacted]ricia told Ms. [redacted] that we need to see it and her response was * 1) "To bad, the tile
is going up." She went on to say that the leak was in the slab, *2) under the toilet.
Since we were not notified of a problem until the repair was completed and restoration was
beyond a point of visual inspection, we requested an invoice from her plumber with a detailed
description of his findings and repair. Upon receipt of such invoice, we would make our decision
regarding a refund, she at no point agreed to a refund based solely on the customer's
alegation. NOTE: An invoice was sent by Ms. [redacted], not her plumber and could have been
written by anyone. There was no mention of a second leak detection being completed before
making the repair. After reviewing the invoice, I was unable to determine contactor number,
business address, what was completed, and other omissions. It came to light that her so-called
plumber is nothing more than a handyman, who lacks the credentials and expertise to undertake
this sort or repair and most certainly could have caused damage to pipes in attempting to do so.
*3) The total invoice was $700.00, from "[redacted]", as hand written therein. We were
unable to verify that this business exists; No listing at CSLB, no fictitious business listing in San
Diego County, no Revdex.com listing, and there was not adequate information provided to make an
inquiry at the San Diego City Treasurer. We have requested information concerning "[redacted]
[redacted]" from Ms. [redacted] and to date, nothing new has been submitted.
We have completed and submitted to the CSLB, form 131-27 concerning this matter and
forwarded our information to California Franchise Tax Board, San Diego County Fictitious
Business Department, and San Diego Office of the City Treasurer.
Ms. [redacted] deceived us from the very beginning, claiming that she was working with a licensed
plumber, when in reality she was working with a handyman. Not only that, her son got involved,
saying that he owns the property and that Ms. [redacted] was his mother when Ms. [redacted] said that it
was her property in the beginning. Now she continues on her dishonest path, claiming that
[redacted]ricia agreed to a refund before I got involved. She gave us no opportunity to re-assess the
problem, and given so many inconsistencies regarding the whole situation, I place no credence to
the claims of Ms. [redacted]. She has not provided any evidence from a licensed professional to back
up her allegation that our findings were inaccurate.
If further information is required, contact us at any time.
RED FLAGS
* 1) Ms. [redacted] did not contact us immediately when there was question concerning our
information. Why go to such pains to hide the mistake?
*2) California Plumbing Code 2010 does not allow water feed lines to be constructed
under sewer lines.
#609 .2 Water pipes shall not be run or laid in the same trench as building sewer or
drainage piping constructed of clay or materials that are not approved for use
within a building unless both of the following conditions are met.
609.2.1 The bottom of the water pipe, at all points, shall be not less than
twelve inches above the top of the sewer or drain line.
609.2.2 The water pipe shall be placed on a solid shelf excavated at one side
of the common trench with a clear horizontal distance of not less
than twelve inches from the sewer or drain line.
*3) Straight from the California State License Board- "It is illegal for an unlicensed
person to perform contracting work on any project valued at $500 or more in labor
and materials. Besides being illegal, unlicensed contractors lack accountability
and have a high rate of involvement in construction scams. They also are unfair
competition for licensed contractors who operate with bonds, insurance, and other
responsible business practices."

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I reject the response from Gary Anderson. This is the kind of nonsense he did with me, which is the reason I was forced to complain to Revdex.com about him. The only pertinent issue here is the following. I hired Anderson's Premium Plumbing to locate a leak we knew existed at my son's rental property. Gary Anderson said the leak was in the shower wall in the master bath. When my handyman opened that wall, there was no leak there and all the wood was dry, which meant there had not been a leak there. The leak was later found by my handyman in the floor of the other bathroom, nowhere near where Gary said it was. So the tile and wall board was removed from the shower in the other bathroom for no reason. That is why I asked for a refund, because he did not locate the leak as he was hired to do.
