Anderson's Towing Reviews (1)

Review: I was involved in a traffic accident on 9/23/13 @ 10:00am. Anderson's Tow was called by the Sheriff's Dept. to tow my car. I went to the hospital. I called the Sheriff's Dept. to find out where my car was & how to get it back. I paid the vehicle release fee. The next day 9/24, they gave me directions to the tow yard. When I arrived I asked them if I could remove some items, they said I could take personal items. I went immediately to my trunk where I have a built-in 10 disc CD changer, it was stuck. When the worker pried it out with a screwdriver there were only 2 CD's in the cartridge. I asked him where are the other 8 CD's, he said he didn't know, no one had been in the car. I went to the front office and asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was in a meeting and to call back the next day. I had my car towed by Triple A after paying the fees of $295.00 before they closed. I called the manager back the next day & told him about the missing CD's, he asked me to give him a few days to allow him time to investigate. I called back on 9/27 @ 4pm, the manager was not available. On 10/2, the manager called me, he reviewed his security video & stated his office mgr was in the trunk for 23 seconds, it only takes a second to pop out the cartridge. I asked him why was she in the car, he said she was doing inventory. Why that happened I don't know. I told him I just wanted my property back, he stated that he trusted his employee's and could not image the tow driver or his office mgr of any wrong doing. I told him I was playing the CD's when the accident happened & why would I accuse his employee's of theft. The CD case always had 10 CD's in it at all times. They took the 8 store bought CD's & left the 2 homemade CD's because they were unmarked. The only solution he had for me was to contact my insurance co. Why should I pay $500 deductible for my property which should have safe while in his lot. I also told him I wasn't looking to get anyone fired. They could mail them to me anonymously. None of his employees were willing to admit they stole the CD's. The police dept. said I could not file a theft report because it, the tow yard, was private property. So I contacted you for help.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the damage to my CD changer box & the missing CD's.

Response:

After an internal investigation when the customer originally contacted us, there was no evidence that such a legitimate complaint existed nor did the complaint stand to reason why it would have taken happened in the first place. As a result we could not help her.

Response:

We reviewed this complaint and found it to be invalid. We spoke to all the employees and watched the video of the vehicle while in storage. She states we got into her truck, opened her CD changer case, and stole her Jazz CD’s and left another behind. The office manager opened the trunk when the vehicle was brought in as standard procedure to verify any items of value, such as a CD changer. The office manager has been here for nine years. I have no idea why anyone here would put their job on the line to route thru her vehicle and steel Jazz CD’s of all things.
