[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:1) On August 15th, Andre, the mechanic, at Philadelphia Auto Care Center/ [redacted] ***, was made aware of the knock sensor after completing the tune up on my [redacted] Again, before my tune up, there were no underlying issues with my carDuring the 15-minute drive with Andre in my car, he had me [redacted] "knock sensor" on my phone, so that he could watch the youtube videosHe also stated that he would call other [redacted] dealerships in the area to get to the root the problemAfter having additional issues with my car on my August 16th, including having my car shut off in traffic twice, I had the car towed to the garageWhatever the outcome of the conversations were, I was never told about itInstead, I was directed to take my car to [redacted] on the 17thOnce I informed Andre on the 18th that [redacted] was going to charge me an additional $450, he went to [redacted] to pick up my car, unauthorized, and stated on the 20th the issue was a gas casket for $In essence, the gas casket was never the issue [redacted] discovered that the spark plugs, during their inspection, were never replaced correctlyIt is noted on their invoiceI requested, and have in my possession, the bad spark plugs that were put on my car properlyI was charged for bad spark plugs at Philadelphia Auto Care/ [redacted] which is noted on their invoiceThis is including the fact that the knock sensor was in place, and working properly until the tune up at Philadelphia Auto Care/ [redacted] I was never informed by Andre, or his son-in-law, who is employed at the [redacted] about them replacing the knock sensorI was never given a quote regarding this matter regarding placement of the knock sensorThe only quote I was given was for $for the gas casketAt no time was I directed by Philadelphia Auto Care Center/ [redacted] to take my car to [redacted] for a second opinion regarding then issues I had with my carAttached are the forms/invoices from [redacted] and Philadelphia Auto Care Center/ [redacted] Regards, [redacted]

My name is Edward C***, I am writing this letter in response to a complaint made by *** ***, complaint ID# *** came to our location to have a tune up on her vehicle, a *** ***We recommended new spark plugs, wires, and a cap and rotorAll the parts were
installed and the vehicle was picked up on 8-13-She had her vehicle towed back on the 15th and said the vehicle would have high RPM's at low speeds and it also would jerk, I brought the vehicle into the shop to check it out and I scanned the vehicles computer to see if there were any trouble codesThe code that came up was for a knock sensorI called up *** to ask them if a knock sensor code ever came up after a tune up on these vehiclesThe gentlemen at *** said it does happen sometimes but they weren’t sure whyI informed her she needed to replace the knock sensor and she said she could not afford itShe asked if I was sure she needed the knock sensor and said yesI asked her to look on *** with her phone to see if anyone else reported having the same issueShe looked it up and saw that somebody else did have such issues after tune up* I told her if she wanted to get a second opinion she could take it to *** on *** *** *** in PhiladelphiaAfter she received the second opinion they told her she needed over $worth of workShe then called me to pick up her car which I did and brought it back to our locationI told her that she needed the knock sensor replaced to fix the car and asked her if she wanted to get the repairs done,She then again told me she could not afford the repairsAfter she took her vehicle from our shop she went back to *** to have the repairs doneThe mechanic Mike told her the tune up was not done right and was bad mouthing our locationThey replaced her knock sensor and changed the tune up parts they said was not done properly, which is completely falseAll the tune up parts that were sold in the service were new and installed properlyThe knock sensor was a separate issue not related to the tune upThe knock sensor needed to be addressed to fix the symptoms *** was having* After multiple visits to our location and me informing her she needed the knock sensor, *** continued to decline the repairs due to not having the money
