I just received a letter from Andrew [redacted] stating that I owed him a payment for reducing my property tax...
So, here's the full story. I contacted Andrew [redacted] back in September 2015 looking to get my property tax lowered. I called his firm and was quickly setup with one of his appraisers. A couple of days later I received a call from the appraiser, after a brief conversation with the person, basically he is stating that my property is assessed properly, and there is nothing he can do to help me. I then emailed Andrew [redacted] and updated him.
At this time I decided to do my own research and do my own appeal and see if I can get my taxes lowered. I searched online and talked to my assessor’s office and completed the files needed to lower my taxes. Luckily, I was able to get my taxes lowered and received the letter from the township back in September 2015.
So, now February 2016, I received a letter from Andrew J. Rukavina stating that he was able to lower my taxes and that I now owe him his fees... I respectfully sent Andrew an email stating that this must have been a mistake. After all I did all the work in getting my taxes lowered. Andrew responded back stating that I signed a non voidable contract and that I owe his firm this amount even though no work was done in his behalf. I don't know much about law but this does not make any sense to me.
This case is still open and will see how this will turn out. Please keep an eye on this firm and their fraudulent ways.
